Para algunos historiadores esta costumbre se remonta a la antigua Roma, donde antes de celebrar la Navidad, entre el 17 y 24 de diciembre, tenía lugar la fiesta de Saturnalia, en tributo a Dios de la agricultura. Durante esos días los banquetes públicos y un clima de carnaval eran seguidos por el ritual del intercambio de regalos como símbolo de una buena cosecha. Dar y recibir regalos es tan lindo que se hizo tradición. For some historians, this custom goes back to ancient Rome, where before celebrating Christmas, between December 17 and 24, the festival of Saturnalia took place, in tribute to the god of agriculture. During those days the public banquets and a carnival climate were followed by the ritual of exchanging gifts as a symbol for the next harvest to be a good one. Giving and receiving gifts is so pleasant that it became tradition.
