Atlong last, the wait is over for fans of one of the area’s most popular barbecue joints.
Earlier this month, Brett’s BBQ Shop opened its new restaurant at 25220 Kingsland Blvd. in the Katy/Fulshear area with a soft opening, according to a Facebook post from the restaurant.
Brett’s BBQ Shop outgrew its 600-square-foot digs on 606 S. Mason Road in Katy just three years after its opening, prompting its move to Katy’s Boardwalk Crossings that began last year.
Owner Brett Jackson started the oak-smoked, Central Texas style barbecue joint in October
2018, and Texas Monthly named the restaurant to its 2021 “50 Best BBQ Joints” list. The new 4,858-square foot facility gives Brett’s BBQ access to a full kitchen with a convection oven, fryers and flat top grills.
Brett’s BBQ restaurant served hundreds of customers during its initial soft opening weekend, according to the restaurant, and the soft opening will run through Jan. 22.
“We could not have dreamed of such an outpouring of support and welcome to the City of Katy,” Jackson wrote on Facebook Jan. 8. “Thank you for your continued patience as we settle in to our new BBQ palace.”
The shop will be open Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. or until food is sold out. For more information, visit the restaurant’s website at brettsbbqshop.square.site.
