CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The morale of the rank and file of the Cagayan de Oro Police Office (COCPO) remains high despite the arrest of a ranking police officer last week with alleged extortion, a senior police officer said on Monday. Pol. S/Supt. Graciano J. Mijares, chief of the city’s 3,000 police force, said that “there was no breakdown in the imposition

THE People Surge alliance of Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) survivors boycotted the “Yolanda Transparency Forum” in Tacloban City, which was sponsored by the Aquino government and The Asia Foundation March 20. – The National Youth Commission (NYC) urges council members to include youth in their programs especially in participation of disaster risk reduction efforts. NYC Commissioner representing Mindanao Earl Saavedra, in the recent meeting with the Regional youth Advisory Council here, said that part of the nine point agenda of the Mindanao youth is to maximize their involvement and increase participation in all development processes including environmental sustainability and disaster risk reduction and mitigation.
