CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Donations from local governments and private donors in Mindanao were sent to victims of Typhoon Ulysses in Cagayan de Oro and Tuguegarao City Thursday. The donated items were loaded to a C-295 cargo plane at the Lumbia airfield in Barangay Lumbia, this city. Both Army and Air Force personnel carried the boxes and sacks of donations to the cargo plane.
Maj. Rodulfo Cordero Jr., Army’s 4th Infantry Division spokesperson, said the cargo aircraft was loaded with 47 boxes of assorted goods including blankets, mats, hygiene kits; 50 boxes of canned juice; and 50 sacks containing rice and food packs. He said the items are just a part of the donations the 4ID has so far received. Cordero said the 4ID was able to raise 740 sacks and boxes of assorted clothes; 422 blankets and towels; 283 boxes of canned and
assorted goods; 38 sacks of rice; 500 pieces of water jars; 61 bags and boxes of personal hygiene kits and face masks; and 1,351 assorted kitchenware and cleaning aids. He added the relief goods came from local governments of Cagayan de Oro, Gingoog City, Oroquieta City, Talakag, Bukidnon, and Dumalinog, Zamboanga del Norte, and from individuals and civil society organizations.
