Labor department kicks off 8-hour mandatory orientation By MARK FRANCISCO Correspondent

THE Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) 10 launched Monday, April 29 the eight-hour mandatory orientation to occupational safety and health. According to regional labor inspector Coslid-Rey Tubiano, the eight-hour orientation is mandated under Department Order No. 198-18 that was effective starting January 25. The said department order outlined the implementing rules and regulations of Republic Act 11058, otherwise known as An Act Strengthening Occupational Safety Standards of 2018.
