Vasallo of Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-10 has urged private establishments which are now suspending work amid coronavirus disease (COVID)-19 to find remedies or flexible work arrangement within their workforce. In a press conference at the mayor’s office here, Vasallo said DOLE is very much concerned about COVID-19 because this is a threat to employment security through temporary shutdown of establishments. ILIGAN CITY -- The local government unit of Ozamiz has implemented starting 12:00 noon on Wednesday, March 18, a strict community quarantine despite having zero case of COVID-19 in the city.

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY: Two more Persons Under Investigation (PUIs) died in a government hospital here, bringing to a total of three deaths as patients suspected of contracting COVID-19 virus rises in this port capital. Dr. Jose Chan, Medical Director of the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) based in Cagayan De Oro City, made the announcement Thursday morning. He said that the two female patients were placed under PUIs after they were diagnosed with severe acute respiratory infection (SARI). Chan said that it could not be established whether the two patients died of the COVID-19 virus because of the failure to transport their samples for laboratory analyses in Manila.
