Marcos eyes cooperation with private sector to help farmers By RUTH ABBEY GITA-CARLOS

MANIL A – President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has sought the cooperation of the private sector to provide support to the farmers. In a Facebook post, Marcos shared photos of his meeting with members of the Private Sector Advisory Council at Malacañan Palace in Manila on Thursday. Marcos, who concurrently serves as the agriculture czar, said he was “excited” to partner with the private sector in improving the agricultural sector. “I thank the members of the Private Sector Advisory Council for joining us in a meeting to discuss and exchange ideas about scaling up our agricultural sector,” he said. “It is refreshing to hear ideas from them, and I’m excited to establish pro- MEETING. DSWD-10 continues to aid TS Odette affected families By DSWD-10

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)--With the onslaught of Tropical Storm Odette in northern Mindanao, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 10 continuously augments assistance and services to its affected families in the region. For the first semester of CY 2022, the regional office through its Regional

Disaster Response Management Division has provided financial assistance to a total of 6,753 unserved TS Odette survivors. The ongoing payout in Region 10 is in response to the request of their respective local government units (LGUs) who have not foreseen the additional number of the typhoon’s affected families. The TS Odette financial assistance is based on the Department of the Interior and Local Government-DSWDDepartment of National Defense Joint Memorandum Circular No. 4 Series of 2021 and Local Budget Circular (LBC) No. 141. These provisions state that the affected individuals shall receive an amount of P1,000 per affected individual, with a maximum amount of P5,000 per family. (DSWD-10/PIA-10)

Davao City Covid-19 TF calls for booster vax anew By CHE PALICTE

DAVAO CITY – The Davao City Covid-19 Task Force has reiterated its call to the Dabawenyos to get their booster shots as the city logged 30 new cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) Wednesday. In a statement Thursday, Dr. Michelle Schlosser, the task force spokesperson, said the increase indicates a positivity rate of 6.3 percent, exceeding the acceptable positivity rate of 5 percent.
