NorMin now has 1,170 drug-cleared barangays CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY -- Of the 2,022 barangays, there are now 1,170 drugcleared barangays in the region from 2017 to present. During the monthly Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD) Advocacy Cluster meeting, January 29, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-10 reported that there are 722 remaining affected barangays in the region while only 19 barangays remain unaffected of drug-related cases. The region is now at 61.84 percent on drugcleared barangays. There were 25 drug-cleared barangays for CY 2021. As for jail facilities, PDEA reported 21 facilities, which were declared drug-free while there are now 21 Balay Silangan—a place for reformation, which are established in the region. In enforcing anti-drug campaigns, the Philippine National Police (PNP)-10 have trained 11,178 youth for the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) in preparation for the Resistance Education Against Drugs for the Youth (READY) Training Program. Andanar pushes for media workers’ inclusion in vax priority list MANILA – Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar stressed the need for media workers to be prioritized in the rollout of the Covid-19 vaccine once it is available.
