Provincial vet eyes hike in prices of meat By GERRY LEE GORIT Correspondent

MISAMIS Oriental--A provincial veterinarian yesterday said that prices of meat products have increased especially in areas hardly hit by African Swine Fever (ASF). Dr. Benjamine Resma, veterinarian of the province of Misamis Oriental, said that prices of pork started to increase in the region. Resma said that one of the reasons for the increase is the lack of supply of pork “as we supply 16-20,000

heads of pork products in Luzon.” He said that the daily requirement of the National Capital Region (NCR) is pegged at 3,000 heads per day “and we supply them.” He said the local governments in the province have also strictly implemented the entry of pork products especially comming from areas hardy hit by ASF. As of today, Resma said that no ASF-reported cases in Misamis Oriental “that is why we are strict when it comes to the entry of pork products.”

VILLANUEVA, Misamis Oiental--If plans dont miscarry, the much-awaited groundbreaking of the P450-million worth Mindanao District Hospital is happening soon, said Mayor Jennie Uy-Mendez. Mendez said the hospital which will be constructed in one hectare land “and we will do the groundbreaking with Senator Bong Go soon.” She said the construction of Mindanao District Hospital in this town was the legacy of the Uy family. Her father, Atty. Julio Uy is a former town mayor of Villanueva and former Vice Governor of the province of Misamis Oriental; her mother, a former town mayor of Villanueva and now a three-termer member Villanueva town Mayor Jennie Uy-Mendez inset stressed a point as she discusses the soon to be held groundbreaking of Mindanao District Hospital which will be constructed of the House of the in one hectare above.

Senator Pimentel III filed first bill senate seeking BTA extension by 2025 By ASANGAN T. MADALE Contributor

COTABATO CITY:- Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III on Monday 25 filed the first senate bill seeking to extend the BTA transition period by postponing the 2022 election. In a statement obtained by the Manila Times from the Press release of BARMM-BPI, state that Senate Bill No. 2019 authored by Pimentel seeks to reschedule the parliamentary elections in the Bangsamoro region by amending Section 13 Article XVI of the Bangsamoro Organic Law, which states that “the first regular election for the Bangsamoro Government under this Organic Law shall be held

Pimentel told reporters in a Viber messages saying “Only the elections to BARMM are affected (parliamentary elections) adding, all the rest are “as is”. 2 Chinese sister cities helping Davao City in COVID-19 response By ANTONIO L. COLINA IV MindaNews

DAVAO CITY -- The relationship of Davao City with two sister Chinese cities proved useful not only during economic boom but also in the time of health crisis as these provided support to the local government in its coronavirus disease (COVID-19) response.
