Learning management system By MARY JULIE ANN M. RODRIGUEZ Teacher I Division of Tangub City
WITH the shift to remote learning, schools become increasingly reliant on learning management systems, a central hub for teaching and learning resources. A learning management system makes it easier for educators to bring their classrooms online. It also gives them the flexibility to switch between in-person and remote learning. On a learning management system, educators can take attendance, deliver virtual instruction, assess student work and communicate with students and their guardians. But a learning management system is not free of vulnerabilities. Like any other software or online app, a learning management system requires a thoughtful approach to security and
privacy to mitigate threats. With the wealth of information collected and stored in a learning management system, it’s important to evaluate how it shares and secures that data. Administrators and users must also be familiar with the security features that come with their platform and make sure they’re enabled. For example, turning on multifactor authentication which requires multiple credentials to verify a user’s identity can help protect against threats targeting user passwords and accounts. Assigning user permissions is also crucial to effectively protect data. These controls let administrators grant users the appropriate level of access and privilege.

CPMP President Lawrence delos Santos has urged the DOH and the DBMPS to coordinate with the industry on their PPE requirement so that the local manufacturers can prepare to supply the demand from the government. He said up to 99 percent of the government’s PPE requirements are being served by imported products, mostly coming from China.
Creating a creative learning space for learners with exceptional abilities
My special letter of love to parents of children with special needs

Special education teachers require a number of skills different from traditional educators. They play a vital role in the classroom and must work hard to maintain balance. One of these skills is by fostering creativeness. Since all children have different learning styles, a special education teacher must have the ability to adapt lessons that work for the strengths of each child. In certain circumstances, learners may function well but have social interaction problems. Others may not be able to perform basic speaking or motor skills. While designing daily activities and plans for the classroom, a teacher must get creative in order to accommodate all of the children’s needs. Since disabilities may manifest differently each day, planning must remain flexible as well. There must be time to deal with outbursts or other roadblocks.
New teaching techniques are developed on a regular basis, so a special education teacher must remain abreast of the most effective methods. Moreover, a special education teacher works alongside disabled pupils with various problems. No matter the issues, this professional must accept all children and interact with dignity and respect. Even children who are unable to communicate properly or function at low developmental levels sense negativity, especially when a teacher is acting in an uncomfortable manner. It is key to create a sense of value within the classroom so that all children have the maximum chances of gaining success. Teachers must always be flexible and must provide a creative learning space for pupils as it is an everyday battle and undertaking when dealing with learners with exceptional abilities.
However, the group noted that the quality of imported PPE are not being tested when it arrived in the Philippines unlike the locally-produced PPE that have undergone inspection by the Food and Drug Administration and passed the highest testing standard done by international test-
ing laboratories. CPMP is composed of Medtecs International Corp. Ltd., EMS Components Assembly Inc., Reliance Producers Cooperative, Luen Thai International Group Philippines, Inc., and Tacca Industries Pty Ltd. Except for medical-grade surgical face masks maker Medtecs, the four other firms repurposed their businesses into PPE-making to support the country’s need for these products for medical workers in their fight against Covid-19. Many of the choices you are forced to make have no right answer, just the lesser of the hard and painful wrong choices. You will do your best but you won’t always get it right no matter how many sleepless nights you spend agonizing over how to handle a situation. There may not be anyone else with the same constellation of symptoms as your child but there are people with similar challenges. Find those people. I have never met anyone with all of these same challenges as your kids but I have a strong network within each separate diagnosis, of course, as a Special Education teacher. To my beloved parents, you are placed in a position of caring for others nearly constantly. However, you still need and deserve to be cared for. That entails asking friends or family for a bonding as often, or going for a pedicure, or a date night, or whatever else you enjoy doing. Whatever makes you feel special and taken care of, take the time to enjoy it, you are worth it!
And of course, you parents of children with special needs, you are super heroes. You may not leap buildings in a single bound or run faster than a speeding bullet but you are a superhero none the less. Everyday, you manage situations that a regular parent would think are impossible. You stretch tight muscles, remember pills, inject and infuse medicine. You hold hysterical children during horrendous medical procedures. You deal with tantrums and melt downs. And most often manage not to have a tantrum or melt down yourself. You encourage your child to do things doctors told you they would never do but you never gave up hope. You are a therapist, nurse, doctor, friend and confidante. You are no regular parent. I salute all of you! The situation you are into is no easy task but you are all doing your best tremendously and, from the bottom of my heart, I really admire and appreciate all of your endeavors and undertakings. May the Lord God blesses you ten folds of abundant graces!
education, while there no there no available vaccine against the pandemic. What is important, are as follows: proper hygiene, social distancing, disinfection, thermal scanner, foot bath, alcohols, face mask, and face shield to protect ourselves from the virus if we are inside the school premises. Hence, we have to treat the school as our second home. That is only opinion based on my observations. I have seen another post in the social media about flexible learning scheme, such as, synchronous, asynchronous, and off-line. The way how it seems, if offers the best blended learning strategies, to replace the traditional face to face-to-face discussions. Buy it is doomed to fail because of the problems as mentioned above. Finally, the thing that calls my attention is about
off-line, that suggest the use of USB. How the students can make use of it? They have still to go to SUCs, LUCs, and HEIs’ premises to copy the modules, chapter by chapter each session. There is a face to face encounter there once the student copied the module from Computer of the school to their USBs. My question is, what is more expensive, the USBs or the books. My suggestion is, why not require students to have the prescribed books on the different subjects. They have the books; the resource persons are using the Internet facilities during discussions. We can call it as concept of mixed traditional and on-line discussions. For me, this is the real scenario of flexible and blending scheme in the contemporary Philippine education system. OGS.
