Physicians hold Christmas fellowship CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The PHILIPPINE SOCIET Y OF MEDICAL SPECIALISTS INC., Nor t he r n Mi nd ana o Chapter, bonded anew in their recent Christmas party,on December 12 at Luxe Hotel this City. The members of the association and their guests were welcomed by Dr. Luna C. Alaba M.D., FPSMS, and acknowledged by Dr. Evelyn R. Lim M.D., FPSMS. Dr. Gina D. Napisa M.D., FPSMS started the short program with an invocation. The Philippine Association of Forex Traders, Inc. who gave a lecture on Sound Financial Investment, also joined the merriment. The affair was spearheaded by Dr. Gilbert Gille. Dr. Gille also led the group in awarding Certificates of Fellows to new members. Organized through a Department of Health Resolution, Asst. Sec. Elmer Punzalan formed a technical working group to evaluate the distribution of Medical Specialists of the department around the Philippines. The group aims to solve the problem of maldistribution of Medical Specialists, where
they are concentrated in urban centers and that. The Department Execom passed a resolution forming the then DOH Medical Specialists, now knowm as the PHILIPPINE SOCIETY OF MEDICAL SPECIALISTS INC. Every year, the group’s members have been increasing throughout the Philippines. The society is envisioned to promote training and research of all its members including the Seventy-Two (72) Medical Centers distributed throughout the country under the Department of Health , mto make the institution self-reliant when it comes to the needs of Medical Specialists in every far-flung DOH Hospital. Officers for 2013 – 2015 are: Dr. Gilbert B. Gille – PRESIDENT; Dr. Jorge A. Bedayo M.D., VICE PRESIDENT; Dr. Evelyn R. Lim M.D. – SECRETARY; Dr. Luna C. Alaba M.D., TREASURER; Dr. Ignacio B.
