CAMP Alagar, Cagayan de Oro City--The anti-crime campaign in Misamis Oriental will get a boost following the turnover of 23 patrol jeeps here Friday. Interior Secretary Mar Roxas, of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), personally turned over the patrol jeeps
during a turnover here past 3 p.m. Friday. Roxas said that the patrol jeeps, designed as a ‘multipurpose” vehicle, could be utilized during disasters and emergencies. These patrol jeeps are part of the 1,490 vehicles recently purchased by the Philippine National Police (PNP) under the supervision of Roxas and were given to Misamis Oriental (23), Misamis Occidental
(14), Lanao del Norte (22), Camiguin (5) and Dinagat Islands (7). Roxas said his sole purpose is to strengthen the local police forces for they are the frontliners in maintaning peace and order in our communities. He added that the new vehicles will bring about faster growth and development due to a safer and more secure environment. The procurement of the
new patrol jeeps is parrt of Oplan Lambat-Sibat, the new anti-crime campaign of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) where the PNP belongs.
