Siblings Liana Nicole and Iman Mora made the finals in the women’s and men’s open category a family affair, as both emerged champions, doing the host city proud. Iman Mora scored a grand slam emerging champion in the Open Category for all three legs while sister Liana Nicole had two first place finishes and was second in the 1st Leg at Bonifacio Global City.
Bouldering is a form of rock climbing that is performed without the use of ropes or harnesses. While it can be done without any equipment, most climbers use climbing shoes to help secure footholds, chalk to keep their hands dry, and bouldering mats to prevent injuries from falls (Wikipedia). For the past few years, Cagayan de Oro has hosted the last leg of this emerging
event due to the growing number of climbing enthusiasts in the city and Northern Mindanao. “We have climbers from Cebu, Dumaguete, Cavite, Bukidnon and Davao but around 70 percent of those who registered for the competition are from Cagayan de Oro,” said Eduardo L. Solana, Jr., general manager, Habagat Outdoor Equipment, which is organizing the last leg of the competitions held September 26-27, 2015 at Centrio Mall, which carried the apt tagline “Where Adventure Begins.” see full story/PAGE 5
