Drive vs. improvised mufflers launch in Pagadian PAGADIAN City, Zamboanga del Sur––The city government in coordination with the police have apprehended and impounded 150 motorcycles, including tricycles with improvised mufflers which is a violation of Republic Act No. 4136 otherwise known as the Land Transportation and Traffic Code. DA-BFAR boat sails to Tacloban City with relief goods, ‘intervention agri products’ By Cheng Ordonez Executive Editor
CAGAYAN de Oro City–– The Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Bureau of Fishery and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) have utilized its vessel, the M/V DA-BFAR, to deliver relief goods and “intervention agricultural products” to Tacloban City, which was devastated by super Typhoon Yolanda. ceso Alcala here in Cagayan de Oro City Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013, during the opening of the four-day 2013 Mindanao-Wide Makina Saka Agri Machinery Road Show, where he was the guest of honor. Sec. Alcala said an estimated cost of 3.7 billion agricultural products went to ruins in the Visayas areas hit by Typhoon Yolanda, and his Department is currently facilitating the interventions needed to cope with the losses.

The boat, which has a capacity of 1,000 metric tons, was expected to dock in Cagayan de Oro port Wednesday afternoon and will also accommodate relief goods from all sectors with relief goods intended for delivery to Tacloban. Alcala said to safeguard the relief goods and pave the way for smooth delivery of relief operation, the boat will position one nautical mile away from the port of Tacloban. GINGOOG City, Misamis Oriental––The typhoons that struck Misamis Oriental in a week’s time, including the deadly typhoon Yolanda, inflicted only minimal damaged in the province, a provincial official said Wednesday. Provincial Administrator Edmundo Pacamalan, Jr., who was in Gingoog City to conduct ocular inspection of typhoon related damage in Misamis Oriental, said that minor damaged such as landslides and fallen electrical posts were the only reported incidents at the height of the typhoons. He said that the fallen electric post owned by the Misamis Oriental Telephone System was valued at P 150,000 while the landslides were quickly cleared by the provincial engineers to make transportation normal. Pacamalan said that the provincial government is still waiting reports on crops and damage incurred in the agricultural sector. See STORMS/p.11
7t workers land jobs in DOLE fairs
GENERAL Santos City–– Some 7,327 job seekers in Region 12 have gained “onthe-spot” employment in 37 job fairs facilitated by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in the area in the first three quarters of the year.
