Briefly Job opportunity TAGUM City – A total of 238 job-seekers were hired on-thespot during the recently Career Fair spearheaded by the city government here through its Public Employment Services Office (PESO). Data released by PESO manager Rogeneth Pagdilao Llanos showed that 229 jobseekers were immediately hired for local employment, while nine others qualified for overseas employment, and some 826 others will undergo further interview. The job fair held over the weekend posted another record in terms of total jobs solicited, which ballooned to 11,965 jobs – both local and overseas.
Development plan THE Regional Development Council of Northern Mindanao (RDC-X) endorsed the updated Regional Development Plan (RDP) for the years 20132016 during a special RDC-X meeting last week, November 21, in Cagayan de Oro City. RDC-X Vice-Chair and NEDA-X Director Leon M. Dacanay, Jr. presented the updated plan which outlines the major thrusts and priorities the region shall pursue until 2016 in its bid to become the most competitive, efficient and attractive transshipment hub in Southern Philippines. In asserting its role as the major GATEWAY and industrial core and trade center in the south, strategic actions shall be pursued on Good governance; Access, logistics and other infra services; Trade, industry and tourism; Environment and sustainable development; Well –being and social services; Agriculture, fishery and Forestry; and Youth empowerment and basic education –with science, technology and innovation as cross-cutting strategy.

MALAYBALAY City — The city council is eyeing an ordinance that will make it easier to monitor the adherence of agricultural companies to the terms of the environmental compliance certificates (ECC) issued by t he D e p a r t me nt of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). In a hearing on Tuesday, Vice Mayor Roland Deticio said the current ECCs does
