'Unang Biyahe' DAVAO City – Davao Oriental homegrown artists are holding their first major art show, "Unang Biyahe" (First Trip), at the La Herencia Davao Art and Events Pavilion along Torres Street here. The exhibit features 90 works of Prisma de Oriente, a mix of 14 seasoned and upcoming artists from Mati City, Davao Oriental. It will run until Nov. 21 and is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. Admission is free.

Speedy disposition THE Regional Prosecution Office (RPO) 10 (Northern Mindanao) on Monday said it has maintained its position as having the best performing regional prosecution offices in the country for the past two years. During the online flag ceremony of the provincial government of Misamis Oriental on Monday, Regional Prosecutor Merlynn Uy said the public prosecutors have contributed to the filing of criminal cases that were resolved at a rate of more than 90 percent, in the different provinces of Northern Mindanao. "All prosecution offices in the region have performed exceedingly well in the past years, more so, in 2019 and 2020... that is why we were adjudged number one nationwide, (as a) topperforming region," she said, referring to records from the National Prosecution Service, the prosecutorial arm of the Department of Justice.

RED onions placed inside 18 container vans estimated to be worth P57 million from China were seized by the Bureau of Customs (BOC-) with the assistance of the Department of Agriculture (DA) at the Mindanao Container Terminal subport in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental, officials said Tuesday. According to BOC, the imported items were declared as cream, flavored nuts, and other food products. When both agencies inspected the containers, they found out the cargo were of red onions, said Federico Laciste Jr., DA assistant secretary. “As per our inspection, it is all red onions, the inspection initiated by

CDO govt orders cemetery vendors to dismantle stalls

Rabbit meat ZAMBOANGA City – The Zamboanga Rabbit Meat Producers Association (ZRMPA) opened here on Saturday an eatery that serves as the group’s outlet to introduce its product. The eatery is at the residence of Ariel Reyes, ZRMPA secretary, in Sitio Logoy Grande, Barangay Talon-Talon at the back of the Talon-Talon Elementary School. “We are eyeing to open a restaurant but since the association has no enough funds, we decided to start a business by opening up an eatery,” said Efren Arañez Jr., ZRMPA board of director, in an interview.
