Briefly Moral governance COTABATO City – Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Chief Minister Ahod “Murad” Ebrahim has called on constituents to embrace moral governance as the Muslim faithful celebrate Eid’l Fitr or the culmination of Ramadan Monday. Speaking during the congregational prayer at the BARMM center here, Ebrahim said heeding the call for “moral governance” is supporting governance anchored on Islamic morality and spirituality. “I ask all of you to support moral governance so our struggle for self-determination will truly succeed,” he said in the vernacular.
Courting the MNLF DAVAO City – Mayor Sara Z. Duterte said Monday the endorsement of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) is essential to the UniTeam's cause of bringing about peace and development in Mindanao and the rest of the country. In a statement, the vice presidential contender thanked the MNLF for its support of her candidacy as well as for his running mate presidential candidate Ferdinand Marcos Jr. On April 25, Albakil ‘Thong’ Jikiri, current MNLF national vice chairman for military affairs, issued the group’s official statement in Zamboanga City urging their members to support the tandem and the rest of the candidates under Uniteam.

Coffee, cacao emerging agri products in NorMin

HE Department of A g r i c u l t u r e ( DA ) 1 0 (Northern Mindanao) sees the cultivation and production of coffee and cacao as an emerging contributor to boosting the region’s agriculture sector. During the Network Briefing News on Friday, DA-10 Director Carlene Collado said after some farmers groups received support and recognition, they can expand supply in the country and to international markets. "Hopefully, with our assistance, they will be known internationally, and supply for export their products. This would also mean larger income for them," Collado said, referring to the PHP8 million worth of assistance to farmers through the Cacao Community-Based Development Enterprise project. One of the beneficiaries was the Toburan-Mapulog-Maputi Arc Marketing Cooperative, covering 67 hectares in Naawan, Misamis Oriental. BARMM tops regions in 2021 agriculture growth by value THE Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) posted the top growth rate in 2021 among the regions for agricultural output by value, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) said. B A R M M ’s v a l u e o f production in agriculture and fisheries grew 7.2% at constant 2018 prices, the PSA said.
This was followed by the Central Visayas with a growth rate of 5%, Mimaropa 3.5%, Northern Mindanao 2.9%, Western Visayas 2.8%, Cagayan Valley 2.3%, and Zamboanga Peninsula 1.7%. Meanwhile, Calabarzon output by value contracted by 13.3%, followed by Central Luzon (9.2%), Caraga (6.8%), Bicol (4.8%), Ilocos (3.4%), Cordillera Administrative
Region (2.8%), Davao (0.9%), Eastern Visayas (0.7%), and Soccsksargen (0.6%). In the crops subsector, C agayan Va l le y p oste d growth of 5.9%, followed by Mimaropa and Central Visayas with 4.9% each. Face-to-face classes THE office of the Department of Education (DepEd) in Marawi City, Lanao del Sur is targeting to implement a full operation of face-to-face classes beginning September. In a statement Friday, Marawi City Schools Division (MCSD) Superintendent, Dr. Anna Zenaida Unte-Alonto, said the plan was aligned with the targets set by the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE) of the Bangsamoro region. "(The) MBHTE wanted a hundred percent opening of our classes because the last two years brought learning losses to our children who were affected by the two-year pandemic,” Alonto said.
