Briefly High vax turnout THE vaccination turnout among senior citizens in Cagayan de Oro City has improved following a slump in the aftermath of the death of a 73-year-old vaccinee late last week. Dr. Lorraine Nery, acting City Health Office chief, said compared to the previous week's 500 inoculations, they managed to vaccinate 1,314 seniors this week. Nery admitted that the death of Zoilo Joaquin Borcillo on May 12 had created a scare among seniors that out of the 1,200 targeted vaccinees last week, only 500 came to receive their jab.

Quarantine status AMID the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) surge in the region, the InterAgency Task Force (IATF) in Northern Mindanao said Friday it is still waiting for the decision from the national government for the area's quarantine reclassification. The regional IATF has proposed the adjustment of the current Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) to the more restrictive General Community Quarantine (GCQ). Arnel Agabe, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 10 director, in a virtual press briefing Friday, said the proposal has been submitted to the national IATF, including the assessment report for the four indicators on which the quarantine status is based: health, economic, social and security.

SUGBONGCOGON, Misamis Oriental — Iligan Cit y-based angler Ladie Tabanao emerged victorious

as he reeled in the biggest fish caught on Saturday at the 1st Big Catch tournament held in this town. Tabanao turned the table when he got a 23=kilogram dog toot h tuna Saturday morning. He was ranked 4th on the first day of the competition after he snagged
