In a statement Wednesday, DOLE-BFPO Chief Raul Valmores said the disputes were settled through the Single Entry Approach (SEnA) program from January to February. “The workers filed before this office through SEnA to resolve issues against their employer involving (the) underpayment of minimum wage," Valmores said.
Grassroot programs BUTUAN City – The implementation of the Provincial Agriculture and Fisheries Extension System (PAFES) in Surigao del Norte has officially kicked off with the signing of a memorandum of agreement (MOA), the Department of Agriculture (DA) 13 (Caraga) reported Wednesday. In a statement, the DA-13 said Tuesday's MOA signing by Governor Francisco Matugas and DA-13 Director Ricardo Oñate Jr. at the provincial Capitol signaled the start of agricultural interventions at the grassroots level while strengthening the collaboration between the DA and the local government units, the academe, and the private sector. “The PAFES is one of the 18 key strategies under the consolidation pillar of the One-DA Reform Agenda of the agency to transform Philippine agriculture,” the DA-13 said.
Hog repopulation THE Misamis Oriental provincial government will continue its hog repopulation program despite a "hold" request due to the threat of the African swine fever (ASF), the Provincial Veterinary Office (ProVet) said in an interview on Tuesday. Dr. Benjamin Resma, the provincial veterinarian, bared this in response to Governor Yevgeny Vicente Emano’s disclosure that a hog raiser association has requested a temporary stoppage on the repopulation program amid the current ASF threat. “We will continue the repopulation based on our guidelines. We are now continuing our surveillance to prove to the hog raisers that there are areas that are already negative [in ASF] based on our surveillance,” Resma said.

Partido Reporma dumps Ping Lacson, backs Robredo By ANTONIO L. COLINA IV, MindaNews
DAVAO City – The Partido R e p or m a on T hu rs d ay announced it has decided to support the candidacy of
Vice President Leni Robredo. The announcement, made by Davao del Norte 1 District Rep. Pantaleon Alvarez, came
issued by the Department of Energy. That directive of the DOE, which is the agency chairing the Inter-Agency Energy Efficiency and Conservation Committee (IAEECC), is in line with the provisions of Republic Act 11285 or the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act which calls for strict adherence to the Government Energy Management Program (GEMP) prescription of the
law. As designed, the GEMP shall require government agencies to be the showcase institutions when it comes to compliance with energyefficient practices – be that in the use of electricity in their offices; or in fuel consumption for their transport fleets.
