Briefly No sea travel ALL land and sea travel from Bicol to the Visayas and Mindanao are suspended starting Tuesday due to the imminent threat of Tropical Storm Dante. This, after the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) hoisted Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 2 over Bicol Region around 11 a.m. Gremil Alexis Naz, Of fice of Civil Defense (OCD)-Bicol spokesperson, in an interview on Tuesday said the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) directed all its units to enforce the “no sailing” policy in all major ports in the region.

Samal off limit DAVAO City– The tourist destination Island Garden City of Samal is off limits to tourists from June 1 to 14 “as a precautionary measure to prevent uncontrollable surge of COVID-19 transmission,” Mayor Al David Uy said. Uy issued Executive Order 291 on Sunday, suspending for t wo weeks the operation of “all resorts” whether beach or inland, private gatherings and parties in private resorts and establishments “due to the continuous surge” of COVID-19 in the city and in neighboring local government units. Most of the tourists enter the city from Davao City, where a surge in cases is happening.

HE Independent Electricity Market Operator of the Philippines (IEMOP) is gearing up for the commercial launch of the Enhanced WESM Design and Operations (EWDO) of the spot market on June 29, this year, which would integrate the Mindanao system with that of the Visayas and Luzon grids.

THE cities of Cagayan de Oro, Zamboanga and Butuan, as well as four provinces in Mindanao, have been placed under the stricter Modified E n h a n c e d C om mu n it y Quarantine (MECQ) due to the surge of COVID-19 infections in these areas. President Rodrigo Duterte

announced this during a meeting with the National Inter Agency Task Force held in Malacañang Golf Clubhouse Monday night. The national pandemic task force imposed MECQ in the provinces of Zamboanga Sibugay, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga del Norte and
