24th Minbizcon SURIGAO City -- The organizers of the 24th Mindanao Business Conference (MinBizCon) recently conducted a roadshow here to consult the local stakeholders on possible business and economic development policies that will be presented as formal resolutions during the business conference proper that will be held on September 2-3 this year at Dipolog City. The MinBizCon is an annual business conference organized by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) and supported by various government and private organizations. PCCI vice president for Mindanao Affairs Annie O. Ty and Caraga PCCI Regional Governor Sesinio O. Narisma led the consultation.
World Day vs Child Labor DAVAO City -- Government and Civil Society Organizations will commemorate Wednesday, June 10 the 13th World Day against Child Labor aimed at enhancing awareness and eliminating the malpractice in the community level. Atty. Jeoffrey Suyao, director of the Department of Labor and Employment in Davao Region said the activity which is dubbed as HELP ME will be preceded by a motorcade starting from the Freedom Park at Roxas Avenue and will culminate with a short program in a mall at J.P. Laurel Avenue. He said HELP ME was established and designed in 2013 to assist local government in creating child-labor free communities.

BOUT 53.8 megawatts of electricity from four diesel projects in Mindanao have been put online during the first quarter of this year beefing up the island’s dwindling power supply.
