Online tax payment CAGAYAN de Oro city government’s new online tax payment and billing system is now available for use to speed up transactions in Cagayan de Oro. City Treasurer Ramon Antonio Mendoza said that the City Treasurer’s Office (CTO) has already been using the new system for business permit renewal since January 3, 2018. The deadline for the renewal is on January 20, 2018. The online tax payment and billing system of the City Hall can accessed at www.cagayandeoro. gov.ph, the official website of the city. The new system aims to provide convenience to tax payers and entrepreneurs when they redeem their business permit or pay their business tax, real property tax and other fees such as the building fees, traffic violation and market stall rental payment.
Investment goals THE Board of Investments (BOI) eyes to increase investment approvals for 2018 by around 10 percent from pledges in 2017. In a press conference Monday, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Undersecretary and BOI Managing Head Ceferino Rodolfo said the agency targets to approve a total of P680 billion worth of investment pledges this year from P617 billion commitments last year. Rodolfo said the BOI expects that the country will attract more investments in manufacturing sector both from local and foreign sources given the robust gross domestic product (GDP), which is driven by strong domestic consumption.

DTI Undersecretary Zenaida Maglaya, in a briefing Monday, said the department has asked for about P2 billion as budget to roll out various projects in Marawi City being part of the Task Force Bangon Marawi. Maglaya cited the department’s initiatives to help traders in Marawi City and its peripheries as well as internally displaced persons (IDPs) due to Marawi crisis.
