THE City Health Office (CHO) of Iligan City has warned the public that a diarrea or loss bowel movement might occur due to water contamination. Somehow, this would be the effect after the bursting of 24-inch blue pipe of Iligan city’s water line at Barangay Suarez, last July 16, which caused some leaks, and might be the source of bacteria contamination. It took three days to fix and connect the pipe, and at the moment, some areas affected still experience low water supply. See water, page A11

A PART Y LI ST l aw ma ker on Wednesday slammed President Benigno Aquino III over his plan to import 1.55 million metric tops of rice. Bayan Muna Rep. Neri Colmenares asked Aquino to stop the importation and use the funds to help farmers instead of giving it to Vietnamese or Thais. CAGAYAN de Oro City––Church leaders in Northern Mindanao are pleading for the suspension of military operations to secure the release of the army soldier held captive by the communist rebels in Misamis Oriental. In a letter to President Benigno Aquino III dated July 20, 2015, the Philippine Ecumenical Peace Platform (PEPP) appealed to the President for the suspension of military and police operations in the region to ensure the safe release of Pfc. Adonis Jess Lupiba.
