Gutierrez has always lived by and it has led him to many successful years in the Central Florida area practicing Dermatology. Mid Florida Dermatology Associates was founded over 25 years ago by Dr. Michael Gutierrez. The practice has now grown to include ten Central Florida locations and employs twelve Physicians, six Nurse Practitioners, and four Physician Assistants. Dr. Gutierrez prides himself on not only giving the best patient care but also making sure that all of his staff has adequate training and resources to do the same.
Dr. Gutierrez started his medical credentials at the University of New Orleans where he received his Bachelors of Science degree in Biology. He continued his education at Louisiana State University where he completed his medical degree. Dr. Gutierrez was part of the graduating class of 1983. He completed his internship and residency at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. Over the years, Dr. Gutierrez has been recognized many times, one was when he became AAD Board Certified in 1987 for Dermatology and Dermatological Surgery. He is an active member of AAD, AMA, and FSDS and in 2011 he was voted Top Doctor by his peers.
Dr. Gutierrez is known throughout his practice for ensuring that all of his staff are well acquainted and maintain an intimate rapport. He is responsible for organizing many company gatherings which include 5k’s, BBQ’s and other various outings. Mid Florida Dermatology Associates is a very close knit family as a result of Dr. Gutierrez’s generosity and the significance that he places on friendship.
Another one of Dr. Gutierrez’s many accomplishments is a charitable foundation that he founded and named after his father. The Miguel Jesus Gutierrez Scholarship Fund is organized to help high school students get into the medical field. The Miguel Jesus Gutierrez Scholarship Fund is a successful organization that has given many students a chance to chase their dream when they otherwise wouldn’t have the opportunity. Just as Dr. Gutierrez passes on his knowledge to his staff, he also believes it is important to educate upcoming generations.
Mid Florida Dermatology Associates is a full-service dermatology practice primarily focusing on skin cancer screenings, prevention, and treatment. Moles, mole checks, and acne are some of the other primary focuses of the practice. The practice’s philosophy is to provide the highest quality medical care to the people of Central Florida with the goal to provide quality care and service that optimizes outcomes and patient satisfaction. Quality medical care to every patient is a fundamental viewpoint that Dr. Gutierrez and his staff use to keep the practice successful.
From 2000-2003, Dr. Gutierrez served as Chief of Dermatology at Florida Hospital and is currently on staff at Orlando Regional Medical Center. Although Dr. Gutierrez has many scholarly achievements in relation to the medical field, his most rewarding life achievements will always be his three daughters. In addition to spending time with his daughters and his medical career, Dr. Gutierrez also enjoys returning to New Orleans, boxing and listening to music. <
