Dear Readers,

The heat of summer may be winding down, but what a season it has been—we’ve truly enjoyed every moment of the past few months.

In this issue, we’re proud to present “Orlando’s Attorneys of the Year 2025,” a feature highlighting some of the top legal professionals in our community. These attorneys have been recognized and recommended by our readers, offering a fresh perspective on the very best legal expertise Orlando has to offer. We encourage you to share your own experiences as well—visit our website to cast your vote for your favorite attorney. Your input will help shape next year’s list of outstanding attorneys chosen by our readers.

As summer comes to a close, we’re reminded that hurricane season is entering its peak. While it’s wise to stay prepared with essentials and remain alert to changing forecasts, it’s just as important not to let distant weather disturbances overshadow the joy of the present moment. Preparation is necessary, but so is cherishing today’s happiness without borrowing tomorrow’s worries.

With that in mind, we send heartfelt wishes for safety to everyone in our city during the remainder of this storm season. We also hope you enjoyed a restful and uplifting Labor Day holiday in the company of your closest family and friends. Take this opportunity to step away from work, recharge, and savor the beauty of our Central Florida paradise.

As we reflect on our own freedoms and privileges, our thoughts extend beyond our borders. We hold in our hearts the hope for peace in the Middle East and all regions affected by turmoil. Let us live each day with gratitude for our own safety while keeping compassion for those less fortunate. May we strive to move forward with tolerance in our minds and kindness in our hearts.

Finally, to our loyal readers: thank you. Your support and dedication mean the world to us. As we turn the page to a new season, we wish you a wonderful beginning to Fall—may it be filled with peace, joy, and renewal.

Sincerely,

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT

STYLE EVENTS, NEWS & GOSSIP FROM AROUND ORLANDO

Orlando came alive this July and August with a packed calendar of events celebrating everything from tacos to fireworks. Whether you were looking to cool off at a waterpark or or take on a triathlon, the city truly offered something for everyone with two months of nonstop excitement. Here are all the highlights, just in case you missed it!

Throughout weekends in July, The Florida Mall brought a festive summer twist to the holiday season with its first-ever Sleigh Bells in the Sunshine celebration. The Christmas in July event transported shoppers to a sunny North Pole with Santa visits, memorable photo ops, face painting, balloon artists, and

appearances by Mrs. Claus and other holiday characters. Guests enjoyed holiday movies with summer flair, fake snow, and interactive activities for kids as the mall was transformed with tropical holiday decor.

On select nights through September 27, Aquatica Orlando lit up the summer with the return of their dazzling after-hours water park event, AquaGlow. Guests experienced exclusive neon-lit nighttime access to top attractions like Tassie’s Underwater Twist and Roa’s Rapids: Amped Up, as well as massive foam zones and glow-in-the-dark pathways perfect for unforgettable selfies. With a live DJ, laser light shows, and colorful mist

effects, the park was totally transformed into a high-energy party.

This Independence Day, thousands gathered at Lake Eola Park in downtown Orlando with blankets, chairs, and coolers to experience the 48th annual Fireworks at the Fountain. Throughout the free event, families enjoyed live entertainment, food from local vendors, and a festive atmosphere capped by a spectacular fireworks display synchronized to patriotic music performed by the Orlando Concert Band. The festive celebration once again proved to be one of Orlando’s most cherished Independence Day traditions.

From July 26 to August 9, Orlando Taco Week celebrated the city’s vibrant taco scene with over 30 participating restaurants offering $7 taco specials. Each chef and restaurateur showcased their most creative and flavorful taco recipes, drawing crowds eager to explore new dining spots and support local businesses. The two-week event turned every day into an elevated Taco Tuesday experience, encouraging residents and visitors to eat, drink, and enjoy the best of Orlando’s culinary creativity.

Classic cars met country charm on August 9 as Hamlin in Winter Garden transformed into a hub of horsepower and honky-tonk for its Cars & Country event. From early evening through sunset, the community gathered to celebrate all things vintage and Southern by admiring classic rides, enjoying live performances of country favorites, and savoring bites from local food vendors. With cowboy hats, denim jeans, and picnic blankets in tow, visitors turned out from across the city for the free, family-friendly event that captured the essence of nostalgia and summer fun.

SeaWorld Orlando turned up the heat August 9-10 with its summer concert series Bands, Brews & BBQ. On Saturday, fans rocked out to a Luke Bryan tribute concert while Sunday featured feel-good country duo LOCASH. Across the park, guests sampled over 130 craft brews and a wide variety of BBQ styles from Memphis ribs to Carolina pulled pork. The celebration included performances at the Nautilus Theater, acoustic sets at Flamecraft Bar, and live entertainment throughout the park. With a festival-like atmosphere, the event combined music, BBQ, and drinks into a sizzling summer experience.

Running through August 10, Flavors of Florida at Disney Springs gave guests a delicious way to explore the state’s signature tastes. With dishes and drinks available at 45 dining locations, the event featured everything from specialty burgers and seafood dishes to citrus-inspired desserts and Cuban sandwiches. Guests also enjoyed happy hour specials, culinary demos, and food pairing events. From quick bites to fine dining, this event offered a flavorful journey through Florida’s diverse cuisine.

August 24 saw Orlando’s top athletes gather together for the Lake Nona Sprint Triathlon, part of the Tri-Nona Series. Starting at 7:30 a.m. at Lake Nona Adventure Park, participants completed a scenic lake water swim then biked through the urban-meets-nature roads of Lake Nona and finished off with a spirited 5K run at Boxi Park. Post-race festivities included free beer, delicious food options, games, and music that created a festive atmosphere for both athletes and spectators. All participants received a custom tech shirt and finisher’s medal, with top performers receiving age-group and overall awards.

September 2025 brings a month of change and fresh beginnings. With a Full Moon and total lunar eclipse in Pisces on September 7, emotions run deep and we’re encouraged to release what no longer serves us. Later, the New Moon and solar eclipse in Virgo on September 21 invites fresh starts, clarity, and new opportunities. The shifting movements of Saturn, Venus, Mercury, and Mars highlight themes of balance, healing, and renewal, setting the stage for growth in both our personal and professional lives.

The solar eclipse invites a fresh, organized approach to your daily routines.

Taurus (April 20th - May 20th)

As Saturn backslides into Pisces, you may feel pulled to tend to your emotional well-being. Use the Pisces eclipse to nurture deeper healing or creative expression. With Venus in Leo, the latter half of the month offers enthusiasm and bright charm. If you've been pondering long-term goals, use the solar eclipse’s Virgo clarity to reorganize them.

Gemini (May 21st - June 20th)

The lunar eclipse is a potent moment for emotional release—perhaps tied to work or subconscious dynamics. When Mercury enters Virgo, your communication sharpens—ideal for negotiating or learning. Leo (July 23rd - August 22nd)

The spotlight remains on you—your season continues until midmonth, so revel in recognition! Venus dancing through Leo brings love and creative passion to the forefront. Yet, the lunar eclipse may expose emotional blind spots—embrace the revelations. The solar eclipse offers a moment to realign work-life balance before your season closes.

Virgo (August 23rd - September 22nd)

Happy birthday season! The solar eclipse on September 21 ushers in a powerful new cycle—great for setting practical intentions. Mercury entering your sign heightens clarity and productivity. Dawoud Bey’s Evergreen

A Haunting Reflection

Now – Jan. 6, 2026 at Orlando Museum of Art

Dawoud Bey’s Evergreen unveils haunting images from Louisiana’s Evergreen Plantation, the most intact plantation complex in the U.S. Spanning three video channels, it captures trees and remnants of enslaved Black quarters, paired with Imani Uzuri’s ominous soundtrack: “Come by here,” “She got a right to the tree of her life.” Bey, reflecting on a pandemic-halted visit, says, “We forget history… my work keeps us alert to its haunting presence.” A multisensory meditation on trauma, it’s a powerful call to remembrance.

Now a Florida mainstay, Don won “Best Musician” at Orlando’s FusionFest 2020, toured Manila in 2023, and performed at the Versace Mansion and Gloria Estefan’s events, leading Costa d’Este’s house band for five years.

WINTER GARDEN SPOTLIGHT

Fresh buzz in one of Central Florida's hottest areas

Plant Street Commons

Revitalizing Downtown Winter Garden with Style

Downtown Winter Garden, Florida, is poised for a charming evolution with the upcoming Plant Street Commons, a mixed-use development by Orlando-based Atrium Capital Group. Set to transform the prime corner of Plant Street and North Central Avenue, this project blends retail, residential, and community appeal, enhancing the area’s historic allure. Purchased for $1.9 million in June 2022, the 1-acre site at 419 W. Plant St. currently hosts two single-family homes, soon to be replaced by modern townhomes, marking a thoughtful transition into the neighborhood.

The design, crafted by Silling Architects with civil engineering by Atwell, features a three-story building along Plant Street. The ground floor will house 5,000 square feet of retail space, buzzing with potential to meet the high demand driven by Winter Garden’s thriving farmers market and boutique scene. Above, ten apartments will offer stylish living on the top two floors. Flanking the site, three two-story townhomes

will line Central Avenue, while five more face Bay Street, seamlessly integrating with the low-density residential zoning. With 27 parking spaces—16 for retail, 20 for residents, and 16 in rear garages—the layout prioritizes convenience and accessibility.

Adam Wonus, Partner at Atrium Capital Group, highlights the project’s vision: “Plant Street Commons will provide 5,000 SF of retail on Plant St, 10 apartments, and 8 townhomes, transitioning into the neighborhood. Winter Garden, with its undeniable beauty, is the perfect location for this small-scale mixed-use project.” Still in preliminary stages, tenant recruitment for the retail hasn’t begun, but the demand is clear—downtown’s steady growth, fueled by infill developments like the 38-unit Smith & Main apartments and The Exchange’s office-retail mix, signals a bright future.

Unlike the explosive growth in other parts of the city, Winter Garden’s development is a slow, intentional bloom. The Plant Street Commons fits this pattern, adding to the area’s charm with small-scale innovation. Its retail will complement existing dining and shopping options, while the apartments and townhomes cater to those seeking a walkable, community-focused lifestyle. The project’s design respects the Planned Commercial District zoning, ensuring harmony with the historic fabric.

For residents and visitors, this development promises more than new addresses—it’s a catalyst for economic vitality. The retail space could host local artisans or eateries, drawing crowds to an already vibrant downtown. As construction progresses, Winter Garden’s reputation as a gem in Central Florida will shine brighter, blending old-world charm with modern convenience. Keep an eye on updates, as this project is set to redefine the heartbeat of Plant Street!

Celebration Orthopaedics doctors are well-trained in surgical and non-surgical care. We have advanced technology and on-site imaging to provide our patients with the best care possible.

We are the only location in Central Florida that offers partial joint replacement surgery, allowing patients to recover faster and have better functional outcomes to get back to their normal activities sooner.

The majority of adults will experience back pain at some point in their lives, which can severely impact quality of life. Our spine surgeons specialize in non-surgical treatments and pain management through injections such as nerve blocks, epidurals, and facet injections. We are also the only clinic in Central Florida that can perform a Lumbar Disc Replacement.

Our doctors often perform ultrasound-guided injections that are commonly used to treat inflammation, arthritis, and joint pain. This allows for more precise targeting of the affected areas that are otherwise difficult to locate.

Celebration Orthopaedics offers one-of-a-kind Regenerative Medicine treatments such as PRP injections and Stem Cell Therapy, which focus on regenerating the body’s cells and tissues to restore normal function. These treatments are a great non-surgical alternative for patients seeking a more holistic approach.

Physical therapy is a major component of any treatment plan. We offer on-site physical therapy Monday through Friday. Our therapists and doctors work closely together to ensure each patient has an individualized plan to help restore flexibility and ease discomfort.

All of our doctors are board-certified and highly trained in Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine care.

We look forward to helping you RECLAIM YOUR LIFESTYLE

AND START READING INGREDIENT

"SINCE ULTRA-PROCESSED FOOD USUALLY MAKES UP MORE THAN HALF OF THE AVERAGE AMERICAN DIET, THE KEY IS TO START WITH SMALL CHANGES AND NOT GET OVERWHELMED."

Trying to lose weight by counting macros, loading up on protein, or fiber maxxing? A new study suggests that there might be a better way—by avoiding ultra-processed foods.

From lowering your risk of some cancers to trying to manage irritable bowel syndrome, there are already a lot of reasons to avoid those processed foods with ingredients that you wouldn’t find in a traditional kitchen. And now we have another one to add to the list— staying away from unnecessary additives if you are trying to lose weight.

Scientists first suspected that ultraprocessed foods might affect weight in 2019, when researchers at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) conducted the first randomized, controlled trial of ultra-processed foods versus minimally processed foods on a group of 20 volunteers who were housed in a lab where their activities could be monitored 24 hours a day. The participants followed an ultra-processed diet for two weeks and then a minimally processed diet for two weeks. While on the ultra-processed diet, they ate an average of 500 calories a day more and gained about two pounds compared with when they were on the minimally processed diet. At the time, the study was criticized for not being real-world based, since we do not typically live in laboratories, and for being too short. People wondered if weight would stabilize over time, despite eating ultraprocessed foods.

In a study published in August of 2025, researchers decided to take the best parts of the 2019 experiment and added

more participants and kept them in the real-world. This new experiment followed 50 volunteers, who wanted to lose weight, for eight weeks on a minimally processed diet and eight weeks on an ultra-processed one. They were sent meals, snacks, and even drinks to their homes as they went about living their normal lives. And they could eat as much or as little as they felt like eating. In general, the diets were rated as equally appetizing and matched to have the same macros, salt, and sugar content.

The diets themselves were remarkably similar. An ultra-processed breakfast might consist of a breakfast cereal with a plant-based milk, while the minimally processed breakfast would be overnight oats. Lunch could be a chicken wrap on the ultra-processed diet versus a flatbread with chicken on the minimally processed one. The main difference was the bread on the minimally processed diet would only contain ingredients used in traditional bread while the wrap on the ultra-processed diet would be full of usual wrap ingredients including emulsifiers and preservatives.

Importantly, the ultra-processed diet wasn’t full of hot dogs and pizza, but foods that are often marketed as “healthy” or even “low-calorie”. Ultimately, participants on the minimally processed diet lost about twice as much, around two pounds more, than when they were on the ultraprocessed diet. The researchers weren’t completely sure why this happened, but we now have two well done studies showing that avoiding ultra-processed foods can be a big deal if you are trying to weigh less.

So, how do you avoid ultra-processed foods? Since ultra-processed food usually makes up more than half of the average American diet, the key is to start with small changes and not get overwhelmed. When you go to the supermarket this week, look at the back of two packages and read the ingredients—maybe on your bread and yogurt. Bread should only have flour, water, yeast, and salt listed in the ingredients, while yogurt should just be milk and the bacterial cultures that turn the milk into yogurt. If there’s something else listed (and there probably will be), scan the shelves for a product that doesn’t contain those extra, ultra-processed additives to buy instead. There are apps that can scan bar codes to do this for you if you prefer. Then, on your grocery run next week, pick two more products that you can swap out for something less processed. In a few months, you will have a healthier diet and quite possibly, a slimmer waistline.

What’s the Reformer Buzz About?

Picture this: a sleek, adjustable frame with a sliding carriage, springs, and straps—welcome to the Reformer, the star of this Pilates evolution. Unlike traditional Mat Pilates, which relies on body weight and a simple mat, the Reformer adds resistance and

support, turning every move into a mini-challenge. Developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century and later refined, it was originally a rehab tool. Now, it’s a fitness phenomenon, perfect for those seeking a low-impact yet high-intensity workout that sculpts without bulk.

For anyone juggling a hectic schedule, this is a game-changer. Reformer Pilates fits seamlessly, offering a 45-60 minute session that tones your core, lifts your glutes, and elongates muscles—all while gliding gracefully on the carriage. Adjustable springs let instructors tailor intensity, suiting beginners or seasoned fitness enthusiasts.

Why It’s Perfect for You

Let’s talk benefits! Reformer Pilates is a full-body fiesta. That core strength? It’s your secret weapon for better posture—say goodbye to slouching after long days. The low-impact design protects joints, while dynamic stretches boost flexibility, making morning routines feel luxurious. Studies suggest regular Pilates can enhance bone density, a plus for staying strong. Plus, the focus on breath and control melts stress—ideal for busy moments.

The real magic? It’s a confidence booster. Watching arms tone, waist cinch, and balance improve in the mirror is empowering. Many studios, like those in trendy Central Florida spots, offer small classes or private sessions, creating a supportive vibe to laugh, sweat, and grow with others. It’s more than exercise—it’s a community!

Fun Moves to Try

Ready to hop on? Try the “Footwork” series, strengthening legs and core as you push the carriage. “Long Box Pulls” sculpt your back and arms, while the “Elephant” move—hinging at the hips to pull in—works abs like magic. Instructors add playful twists, like “Mermaid” stretches with straps, turning it into a dance party on springs!

Getting Started

No intimidation here! Most studios offer beginner classes, and the Reformer’s adjustability grows with you. Wear comfy leggings and a supportive top—athleisure chic—and bring water. Sessions vary by location, with packages available. Check local gems like Pilates Studios Orlando or virtual options if time’s tight. Aim for 2-3 sessions weekly for a glow-up in 6-8 weeks.

The Social Scoop

Reformer Pilates is buzzing on social media, with #ReformerPilates racking up millions of views. Reels show people mastering moves, inspiring others to join. It’s not just a workout—it’s a lifestyle, blending fitness with a “I’ve got this” attitude. Grab a friend, book a class, and let the Reformer transform you into a powerhouse!

The Bathhouse in Pompeii

NAPLES POMPEII

TRAVEL

EXCURSION: FOUR HOURS OF BEAUTIFUL

ARCHITECTURE

AND HISTORY By Zoë Antonietta

The Odeon in Pompeii Portico of Eumachia

Journey into a city frozen in time..

Imagine you’re walking through a walkway of old, crumbling stone where the Romans once walked centuries ago... Beauty and decay in the dry heat, with washed-out Roman colors brushing the walls surrounding you—warm tones of reds, burnt oranges, pale yellows, and beige paint strokes. You are standing in the center of one of the most historical moments in Europe. That’s where I was when I took in this spectacular tour of Pompeii in Naples, Italy. I flew over to Barcelona, Spain, from Orlando, Florida, and hopped on a European MSC Cruiseline that stopped here on Day 4 as one of the most popular featured excursions. Here’s why Pompeii is a must-see stop on any Mediterranean cruise:

One of the first highlighted stops on the tour was the Pompeii Odeon (built around 80 B.C.), a semi-circular stone building used for musical preformances with steps for seating that sat about 1,000 people. Besides music it was used for poetry readings and oratory - more sophihsticated preformances than the larger theater. Some of it had broken off but for the most part it was entirely entact; it likely had a roof that collapsed over time, either during the eruption or due to natural decay and weather. The Odeon would have had a wooden or tile roof which was unlike other Roman theaters. There was a beautiful stillness that rested here, being able to picture preformers moving in this space or the sound of their vocals reflecting off of the openness that surrounds them. One of the next stops was the bathhouse; this is where my favorite photo was taken. A sheltered room with light pouring through the roof, eroding rocky walls and splashes of a vibrant palete sprinkled throughout the decaying beige stone. This room was used for not only hygenics but for socializing, and used ingenious Roman engineering like underfloor heating, also known as a hypocaust system. Another spot we stopped at was the Portico of Eumachia - a large building on the Forum, built by Eumachia, a priestess from the early 1st century A.D. This was believed to have been a meeting place for the fullers guild (cloth makers/launderers). Eumachia remains a tribute to women whose influence aided in the center of Pompeii’s business and trade. Each stop offered an expansive outlook into a city suspended in time, with unforgettable beauty rooted in the past.

Preserved in plaster, these forms show more than death — they reveal the presence of life, caught mid-motion. Each one stands as a monument to presence, vulnerability, & memory.

Pompeii reminded me that even the strongest structures will collapse, and preservation of history remains incredibly special in our limited time on this earth. It is so important to preserve what we can — to show future generations all that was built here, and how our humanity provides lasting beauty in structure and community that continues on for centuries.

From Millions to Misfortune

The Child Stars Who Lost It All

What happens when fame fades and fortune is gone?

Fame, fortune, and success at a young age can seem like a dream come true, but the reality is far more complicated for many child stars. Despite making millions in their early years, some saw their wealth entirely disappear through poor financial decisions, legal battles, or personal challenges. These eight former child stars learned the hard way that fame doesn’t always come with a happy ending.

Jodie Sweetin

Jodie Sweetin portrayed the sassy, but lovable Stephanie Tanner for 8 seasons of Full House. At the height of the show’s success, she was reportedly earning over $150,000 per episode. Despite making millions as a child star, she later faced serious struggles with addiction and financial instability. In 2016, she filed for bankruptcy citing significant debt. Since then, Sweetin has been open about her recovery journey and now advocates for sobriety while working to rebuild both her career and finances.

Gary Coleman

At just 10 years old, Gary Coleman became a household name for his role on Diff’rent Strokes and his iconic catchphrase, “What’choo talkin’ ’bout, Willis?” At his peak, Coleman reportedly earned over $100,000 per episode and quickly became a millionaire. However, his adoptive parents and former business advisor grossly mismanaged his trust fund. Coleman sued them for misappropriation of his assets and was awarded $1.3 million in 1993. Despite the legal win, he declared bankruptcy in 1999 due to mounting medical bills, legal fees, and poor investments. He passed away in 2010 with very little money left to his name.

Macaulay Culkin

Macaulay Culkin became one of the highest-paid child actors in history thanks to blockbusters like Home Alone and Richie Rich. Films and endorsements alone led to estimated earnings of $50 million, but behind the fame was a highly publicized custody and trust fund battle between his parents. At just 14, Culkin emancipated himself to gain control of his finances. Despite the legal victory, his fortune was significantly reduced by years of family conflict and poor financial moves. After stepping away from Hollywood, he lived a relatively modest life before quietly rebuilding his career through indie projects and creative ventures.

Lindsay Lohan

With hits like The Parent Trap and Mean Girls, Lindsay Lohan became one of Hollywood’s top-earning young stars, reportedly raking in over $28 million from film roles alone. Sadly, her success was quickly overshadowed by legal troubles, repeated rehab stints, and reckless spending. By 2014, she owed the IRS more than $230,000 in back taxes with additional debts mounting from lawsuits and questionable financial choices. While Lohan has made several attempts to revive her career, her financial ups and downs remain a cautionary tale of how early fame can quickly spiral out of control.

Aaron Carter

Rising to fame in the early 2000s as a pop sensation and younger brother of a Backstreet Boy, Aaron Carter earned a whopping $200 million from album sales and tours. However, his incredible success was undermined by family turmoil and allegations that his parents mismanaged and stole from his earnings. As his career declined, Carter struggled with substance abuse and legal issues before eventually filing for bankruptcy in 2013 with $3.5 million in debts. He continued to face financial and personal challenges until his death in 2022.

Dustin Diamond

Once a beloved TV nerd on Saved by the Bell, Dustin Diamond earned an estimated $300,000 per season portraying Screech during the show’s heyday. However, like many child stars, his earnings slowed significantly after the show ended due in part to poor residual deals. Diamond struggled to find steady work and eventually filed for bankruptcy in 2001 due to unpaid debts and legal fees. Attempts to recover lost earnings even included a 2006 sex tape, but all were unsuccessful. Further legal troubles, such as a 2014 assault conviction, drained his finances even more. Diamond’s final years were marked by ongoing hardships until his death from cancer in 2021.

Amanda Bynes

Once hailed as one of Hollywood’s brightest young talents, Amanda Bynes found early 2000s success on TV and in movies like What a Girl Wants and She’s the Man. She was earning millions at the peak of her career, reportedly making $2 to $3 million per film. Sadly, by her early 20s, severe mental health challenges and legal issues took a toll on her promising career. In 2013, she was placed under a conservatorship to help manage her affairs and ensure her well-being. Though much of her fortune was tied up or lost during her personal struggles, today Bynes is focused on her recovery and taking steps toward rebuilding her life and future.

Drake Bell

As one half of the hit show Drake & Josh, Drake Bell enjoyed early success in both acting and music, earning around $400,000 per year at his peak. Unfortunately, his career slowed over time and legal troubles added to his challenges. Bell filed for bankruptcy in 2014 with debts totaling over $580,000 while reporting a monthly income of less than $2,000. Subsequent scandals further damaged his reputation and made financial recovery even more difficult. Despite efforts to bounce back, Bell continues to face an uphill battle in rebuilding both his career and financial stability.

TEXTURED LOOKS FOR THE MODERN WOMAN

Styling tips for relaxed sophistication

As fall approaches, Florida wardrobes are evolving to balance the season’s cooler evenings with the ever-present sunshine. Think of tones like soft salmon, lime, and muted ochres to bring warmth to breezy days. Lightweight linens remain essential, from flowy pants to relaxed button-downs, while mesh knits and slightly thicker textures add a subtle weight perfect for layering without overheating. Pairing linen trousers with a cropped knit or airy tunic allows for effortless transitions from morning errands to sunset walks along the coast.

Accessories are where the style truly shines. Sunglasses remain a must, especially oversized frames that echo the playful vacation-meets-city aesthetic. Textured bracelets, from woven raffia to beadwork, add a tactile dimension, perfectly complementing breezy silhouettes. For footwear, sandals in natural leathers or subtle metallics strike the ideal balance between comfort and sophistication. Short sets or matching separates can be elevated with layered jewelry or a structured bag to take an outfit from casual daywear to a relaxed evening look.

Layering in Florida requires a delicate approach: think lightweight cardigans, kimono-style jackets, or cropped blazers that can be tied at the waist or draped over a linen dress. Batik-inspired prints and subtle tie-dye patterns lend visual interest without overwhelming the airy fabric choices. For evening outings, metallic knit pieces or shimmery tops layered over slim linen pants capture the right mix of city chic and beachside ease. The key is to layer strategically so each piece maintains its breathability and movement.

Fall is also an opportunity to experiment with contrasting textures. Pair rough-woven straw hats with soft silk scarves, or chunky knits with lightweight cotton trousers for a dynamic yet practical ensemble. Focus on colors that echo natural Florida landscapes—pale citrus, coral sands, and muted greenery—while allowing each accessory or layer to add its own story. With thoughtful combinations, the transitional season becomes a playground for relaxed yet refined style, where comfort and elegance coexist effortlessly.

MONSTERS ON THE MOVE

The Labubu Invasion of High Fashion

They’re tiny. They’re toothy. They’re popping up on TikTok, swinging from Birkins, and making cameos in front rows across Fashion Week. Meet Labubu. ...it’s the mischievous monster charm from Chinese toy powerhouse POP MART that’s taken fashion and pop culture by storm. You’re either completely smitten with its chaotic cute charm or you’re simply captivated by the sudden surge of attention surrounding it. Because with Labubu, there’s rarely a middle ground. You’re either in love with the creature or obsessed with figuring out why everyone else is.

The craze first caught fire when Blackpink’s Lisa Manoban was spotted with one several clipped to her Louis Vuitton bag. It was a subtle yet striking mix of street-style whimsy and high fashion edge. At the time, Lisa had just starred in the third season of HBO’s hit series White Lotus and was making headlines for her rumored relationship with Frédéric Arnault, CEO of LVMH watches and Loro Piana and son of Bernard Arnault, billionaire chairman of LVMH. You know the name, the very empire behind Louis Vuitton. Not long after, Rihanna accessorized her LV tote with a Labubu and then came Dua Lipa who is the current face of Chanel, attached one to her Birkin bag. It was fashion whiplash in the best way.

Even Louis Vuitton couldn’t ignore the moment. The brand recently refreshed its charm lineup with plush collectibles like Vivienne Fashionista and the Louis Bear set to come out this summer. It was designed in multiple character versions,

from tennis ready to streetwear chic. Each plush with luxe details and price tags hovering around $1,300. But while LV leans into brand nostalgia, Labubu brings something else entirely. It created a sense of surprise, subversion, and emotional resonance that’s harder to replicate.

That resonance is especially visible on TikTok, where unboxings have become a subculture of their own. Scroll for even a few minutes and you’ll find creators filming dramatic reveals, trading rare editions, or ranking their favorites. The blind-box experience taps into the same thrill as pulling a rare trading card. Its equal parts dopamine hit and community building moment. Some Labubus are even resold for double or triple their original price, with “secret editions” sparking bidding wars online. What started as a toy has turned into a collectible economy and for many, a full-blown lifestyle.

Before it became a fashion accessory, Labubu had already built cult status among collectors. POP MART’s “The Monsters: Big Into Energy” series features six vinylfaced plush figures, each hidden in a blind box with a rare “secret edition” appearing just once in every 72 boxes. Standing 6.69 inches tall and made from premium materials finished with non-toxic paint, each Labubu is as well-crafted as it is unpredictable. And the global obsession has turned into serious business: Wang Ning, POP MART’s founder, is now one of China’s youngest billionaires, reportedly worth $22.1 billion.

FROM TIKTOK TO THE FRONT ROW, LABUBU CHARMS ARE TURNING HEADS—AND REDEFINING WHAT LUXURY LOOKS LIKE.

Still, Labubu isn’t just about hype. It’s hitting something deeper for much of its buyers. We’ve been charming our bags since the early 2000s, when logo tags and luxe tassels were the go-to. But Labubu isn’t about showing off polish. It’s about letting a little weirdness peek through. In a world where the headlines don’t stop and personal stress often runs high, this small, strange figure somehow makes sense. I once had a therapist explain a concept called inner child work, which encourages people to reconnect with joy, softness, and care through something as simple as a stuffed animal. It was about nurturing the playful parts of yourself that adulthood tends to silence. These days, I see that idea playing out on the arms of fashion insiders, clipped to a five-figure handbag and walking into VIP lounges. It’s a reminder subtle or not, that we can still lead with curiosity, joy, and just the right touch of chaos, even when the world asks us to do the opposite.

Labubu isn’t rebellion, it’s a reframe. It’s a wink. It’s a reminder that luxury can be lighthearted, that self-expression doesn’t have to be serious, and that joy can absolutely hang from your shoulder strap. You don’t need to be obsessed with the monster itself to feel the pull. You might just be responding to the cultural moment it represents. It’s a playful, nostalgic, slightly chaotic symbol of what it means to live beautifully in an overwhelming world. Because sometimes, the smallest accessory says the most, especially when it dares to be different.

BREEZY LAYERS, BOLD DETAILS

From linen trousers to statement bracelets, a guide to easy, polished style

As Fall approaches, men’s wardrobes in Florida shift toward pieces that balance warmth with breathability. Linen trousers in neutral or muted tones, lightweight cotton shirts, and mesh or knit tops are essential for the transitional season. Soft hues like salmon, lime, and ochre bring a subtle pop without feeling heavy. Short sets and coordinated separates, inspired by Cmmn Swdn’s playful approach to vacation-ready tailoring, remain stylish, offering a nod to effortless summer ease while staying polished for city strolls or rooftop evenings. Batik-inspired prints on relaxed trousers add a touch of artistry, elevating everyday dressing with a unique, handcrafted feel.

Accessories play a key role in elevating breezy looks. Sunglasses in classic aviator or square frames provide both function and style, while textured bracelets, braided leather straps, and woven details echo the raffia accents seen in Cmmn Swdn designs. Footwear ranges from minimalist sandals to casual loafers, striking a balance between comfort and refinement. Straw hats or lightweight scarves not only offer sun protection but also capture the layered, vacation-meets-city vibe that the designers celebrated in their collection.

Layering for Florida requires a strategic approach. Lightweight overshirts, short cardigans, or unstructured blazers can be draped over linen or cotton basics without overheating. Metallic or shimmery knit tops, reminiscent of Cmmn Swdn’s evening-ready metallic knits, paired with neutral trousers, offer a polished, relaxed sophistication for coastal nights. The key is creating layers that are breathable, movable, and effortlessly chic, allowing for easy transitions from sunny afternoons to cooler evenings.

Texture and color contrast are central to seasonal style. Mix rough-woven hats with soft linen shirts, or pair mesh knits with breezy cotton trousers for depth and dimension. Earthy and citrus-inspired tones reflect Florida landscapes while accenting the playful, summer-forward energy that the Hedlund and Bakir collection captured. Thoughtful layering, curated fabrics, and signature accessories ensure outfits that are comfortable, versatile, and stylish, echoing the light-filled, vacation-meets-city aesthetic that inspired the season’s looks.

The New Style of Plastic Surgery

SUBTLE, SOPHISTICATED, AND PERFECTLY YOU

Plastic surgery used to mean dramatic transformations—oversized implants, extreme curves, and results that made it obvious you’d had “work done.” But in Tampa Bay and Orlando’s beauty scene, a new aesthetic is leading the way. Today, women want proportion, balance, and results so natural that friends may not suspect surgery— only that you look incredible.

At Temmen Plastic Surgery, board-certified female plastic surgeon Dr. Traci Temmen is known for her meticulous eye and refined approach to breast and body contouring. She leads an all-female team that prioritizes comfort, privacy, and personalized care. Together, they focus on creating confidence through shape—curves that enhance clothing, restore femininity, and feel beautifully your own.

Dr. Temmen’s most sought-after procedures, including the Yoga Breast Augmentation and Mini Brazilian Butt Lift, highlight this philosophy of subtle sophistication.

Sculpting the Feminine Shape

More women today are seeking procedures that highlight their natural figure rather than reinvent it. The focus is on balance— curves that make dresses skim perfectly, swimsuits fit better, and jeans feel like they were made just for you. It’s about creating harmony between the bust, waist, and hips, so the body looks naturally proportionate from every angle.

The Yoga Breast Augmentation

The yoga breast augmentation is designed for women who want enhancement without exaggeration. Inspired by the toned, feminine look of yoga enthusiasts, it creates soft curves that look athletic, natural, and perfectly in line with the body’s frame.

Dr. Temmen performs this procedure

either with liposuction and fat transfer for a gentle boost or with carefully chosen small implants, usually between 100–350cc. She tailors the size and placement to each woman’s proportions, ensuring the result looks like your own body — just subtly enhanced.

By restoring upper body fullness and balancing the bust with the waist and hips, this procedure creates harmony

throughout the entire silhouette. Patients often choose it to regain curves after pregnancy, replace volume lost with weight changes, or simply achieve a more proportional, feminine shape.

The Mini Brazilian Butt Lift

Unlike traditional Brazilian Butt Lifts, which often focus on creating dramatic curves, the mini BBL emphasizes elegance and proportion. Dr. Temmen uses liposuction to contour the waist, abdomen, or thighs, then transfers the fat to the hips and buttocks.

The goal isn’t to simply make the butt bigger, but to refine the overall body shape—narrowing the waist, filling in hip dips, gently lifting the buttocks, and sculpting curves that flow naturally with the rest of the figure. Many patients share that their friends don’t comment on their butt specifically, but instead say they look slimmer, fitter, and more balanced overall.

This subtle approach makes the mini BBL ideal for women who want an hourglass figure without exaggerated results, highlighting the artistry of proportion and balance.

Welcoming Patients from Near and Far

While many of Dr. Temmen’s patients come from Tampa Bay and Orlando, an increasing number travel nationwide and internationally for her expertise. Her office offers a streamlined out-of-town program with virtual consultations and follow up visits, travel support, and recovery accommodations—making the process convenient and discreet.

Confidence Is Always in Style

Breasts, waist, and hips define how clothing fits and how women feel in their skin. Subtle, sophisticated procedures like the yoga breast augmentation and mini BBL are about creating proportion, balance, and quiet confidence—not extremes.

Dr. Temmen believes the best surgery integrates seamlessly into life, enhances natural beauty, and makes getting dressed every morning a joy. Whether you’re in Tampa, Orlando, or visiting from afar, Dr. Temmen and her all-female team provide a rare combination of technical excellence and compassionate care.

If you’ve been curious about refining your breasts or body shape without a drastic transformation, this new style of plastic surgery may be exactly what you’ve been looking for.

A MASTERPIECE OF SPORTY ELEGANCE TAKES THE STAGE

After its recent stunning unveiling, the Ferrari Amalfi continues to captivate automotive enthusiasts as the front-mid-engine V8 2+ coupé that succeeded the iconic Ferrari Roma. This Prancing Horse gem redefines contemporary sportiness, merging high performance with versatile, refined aesthetics. Crafted for drivers who crave adrenaline without sacrificing comfort or style, the Amalfi offers an unmatched balance, ideal for both exhilarating drives and daily luxury.

The Amalfi’s exterior, a work of art from Ferrari’s Styling Centre under Flavio Manzoni, boasts a fluid, minimalist design with sculpted volumes and clean lines exuding modernity. A prominent front air intake and a long, sculpted bonnet house the potent 640 cv turbo V8 engine, while the rear’s integrated active spoiler enhances high-speed stability. Forged wheels and carbon fibre accents amplify its sporty sophistication, with the launch color, Verde Costiera—a vibrant teal green inspired by the Amalfi Coast—adding a fresh allure that has turned heads since its reveal.

Inside, the dual-cockpit layout envelops driver and passenger in exclusivity. A redesigned steering wheel with physical buttons and the iconic start button pairs with a 10.25” central display for intuitive control during dynamic drives. Carbon fibre and contrasting stitching elevate the premium feel, while the 2+ seating offers practical rear space for families or extra cargo. The optional Burmester® premium audio system, with 14 speakers and 1,200 watts,

transforms every journey into a sonic delight, a feature already praised in early reviews.

Power comes from an evolved twin-turbo V8 from the award-winning F154 family, delivering 640 cv at 7,500 rpm with a 166 cv/l specific power. Enhanced turbocharging and a low-viscosity oil boost efficiency, while the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission ensures swift, smooth shifts. Performance shines with 0-100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and 0-200 km/h in 9.0 seconds, boasting a class-leading 2.29 kg/ hp power-to-weight ratio. Driving dynamics are honed with a brake-by-wire system, ABS Evo controller, and an active rear wing for stability across conditions.

Technology impresses with a connected infotainment system featuring Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto®, wireless charging, and a digital cluster. The optional front lifter system (raising the car 40 mm) navigates urban obstacles with ease. Aerodynamics, refined

through CFD and wind tunnel testing, optimize performance, while advanced ADAS systems enhance safety—features that have sparked excitement since the unveiling.

The Ferrari Amalfi, backed by a seven-year maintenance program, targets drivers seeking elegance and performance without compromise. Priced from an estimated $250,000 (pending homologation), it’s a modern Ferrari icon. With orders open and deliveries starting early 2026, the buzz from its launch endures.

HOW DO I FIND A LAWYER?

Florida has more than 85,000 licensed lawyers practicing in the state. How do you know which one is right for you?

First, make sure the person you are considering hiring is an attorney. You can do this by going to The Florida Bar website at www.floridabar.org. If you have questions, call membership records at The Florida Bar at 850-561-5832. If you believe the person is not an attorney but is claiming to be one, call The Florida Bar Unlicensed Practice of Law Department at 850-561-5840.

Make a careful search for your lawyer; it’s an important decision. Your goal should be to find a lawyer you are comfortable with as a person and as a professional. Many legal matters involve personal considerations, and your lawyer often will need to know confidential information about you, your family and your finances to be truly effective in serving you.

In your preliminary research, you should focus on compiling a list of the names of lawyers who may be qualified to handle your case. Your ‘follow-up’ research will include making phone calls to those lawyers’ offices then visiting one or a few to find the attorney you want to handle your case.

To begin, consider a lawyer’s reputation. Have you heard people speak highly of a particular attorney’s talents or work? Think about your acquaintances who are, or may know, lawyers. Ask those who work with attorneys in their profession, or someone whose opinion you respect — an employer, lawyer at your workplace, banker, teacher, minister, doctor or other professional, relative, neighbor or friend.

The best recommendations often come from people who hired a lawyer to successfully resolve a problem similar to yours.

Another check you can do is to see if the attorney has a discipline history — meaning the person has received a professional discipline for violating the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar. You can find out this information by going to the attorney’s profile page on The Florida Bar website. Once the attorney’s page appears, scroll down until you see the words: ‘10-Year Discipline History.’ If there is no discipline, the word ‘None’ will appear to the right of the name. If there is a history, the word ‘Yes’ will appear, with a link to documents regarding the discipline. You can use that information to ask the attorney about this episode. You also may call 866-352-0707 and follow the prompts to check a lawyer’s discipline history.

A new and growing development in Florida and other states is the prepaid legal services plan. Through a prepaid legal program, an individual or group pays a premium, something like health insurance, to receive such services as free consultations and advice, with prescribed fees for follow-up services. Before hiring an attorney or before you even think you might need one, you should check to see if your employer, union or other organization of which you are a member offers a prepaid legal service plan as a benefit.

Most areas in Florida also have legal aid and public defender offices, which provide legal help without cost or at a nominal fee to people who cannot afford to pay a lawyer. Legal aid offices provide advice in some non-criminal cases such as those relating to small money claims for wages; disputes between borrowers and lenders; landlord-tenant problems; and domestic relations matters. Public defender offices handle criminal cases for indigent people.

A potential client also can use regional, state or national directories of lawyers and law firms, some containing detailed biographical information and client listings. These volumes — some specially produced for consumer education, and others used by lawyers to identify attorneys in other localities — often can be found in public libraries.

Lists of recommended attorneys are also circulated within special interest groups.

Aside from this information, some lawyers are now using consumer advertising on radio, television, newspapers, magazines, in other media and on the web to inform the public of their services and charges for certain routine legal matters.

Comment:

Orlando Style Magazine has received lawyer recommendations from many peers and our readers. The results are presented in the following list and in addition, several professionals have taken the opportunity to present their experiences and profiles to you in the following special feature.

MICHAEL PANELLA Panella Law Firm

For Michael Panella, zealous advocacy isn’t just a professional mantra—it’s personal. His passion to defend the rights of the accused was sparked in childhood after witnessing what he believed to be an unjust outcome in a family legal matter. That early experience ignited a career-long mission to challenge inequities in the legal system and give a voice to the voiceless.

Graduating at the top of his class at the University of Central Florida, Panella worked for the United States Senate, helping constituents resolve issues with state and federal agencies. At the University of Florida College of Law, he earned the highest grades in multiple courses, including Criminal Law and Family Law, while serving as President of Phi Alpha Delta. He graduated cum laude, earning certificates in criminal justice, pro bono, and community service.

Panella’s professional accomplishments include his role on the defense team in State v. George Zimmerman, where he contributed to successful appellate writs and legal strategies on self-defense. As a partner

in a criminal appellate firm, he worked on both capital and non-capital appeals and co-initiated a class-action lawsuit addressing prison abuse.

Before founding Panella Law Firm, he served as an Assistant Public Defender in Florida’s 18th Judicial Circuit, achieving an undefeated trial record. In private practice, his firm has secured major victories—jury acquittals, murder case dismissals, and appellate wins that have reshaped Florida’s self-defense laws. His commitment extends to family law, where he understands the personal stakes are equally high.

As one of the only lawyers in America simultaneously honored among The National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40 and Top 100, and recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star from 2019 to present, Panella continues to uphold the highest standards of advocacy. Panella Law Firm strives to obtain unreasonably good results in every case, every time.

JASON RECKSIEDLER

Only 1% of Florida Lawyers are Board Certified Civil Trial Experts

Jason Recksiedler, co-founder of First Choice Law is recognized by the Florida Bar, the governing body regulating all lawyers licensed in Florida, as a Board Certified Civil Jury Trial Expert. A distinction not easily obtained, which is why out of 113,000 licensed lawyers, only 881 have this distinction. Jason Recksiedler is one of them. The criteria requires years of experience, verification of a minimum number of Jury trials, an extensive examination and peer review by both attorneys and judges with knowledge of his trial skills. The certification is renewable every five years with proof of continuing civil jury trials and further peer review for both skill and ethics. Jason has been certified three times with nearly thirty years experience.

You can join organizations, or buy plaques of achievement, or win popularity contests in newspapers or magazines, but you cannot buy a Board Certification; it must be earned through endless effort and dedication to one’s craft.

First Choice Law is a premier personal injury law firm. “At First Choice Law, we have one mission: help those who need help”.

“I became a lawyer because my grandfather was injured by a drunk driver. The insurance company said his claim had little value because of his age. They had no idea how active my grandfather was before the crash. I never want any family to experience such disrespect.” This is why your attorney must know you and you must know your attorney. Caring and knowing details of a client’s life is critical to obtaining maximum value. Experience, knowledge, and expertise to present the evidence to a jury is what separates Jason Recksiedler and First Choice Law from others.

First Choice Law/Jason Recksiedler represent those injured in car crashes, truck crashes, slip and falls, sexual assault and other injury events. Consultation is free.

CAROLINE FISCHER ESPI

First Choice Law, P.A.

Empathy, Strength, Commitment: These are words that define Caroline Fischer Espi’s career journey and work ethic. She is tremendously compassionate and always outworks her competition, which is shown by her meteoric rise as co-founder of one of Central Florida’s most successful personal injury law firms: First Choice Law.

After first gaining a law degree in her native county of Brazil, Caroline Fischer Espi moved to the United States aiming to expand her education and experience. She earned her Master’s degree from Boston University School of Law and a Juris Doctorate from Emory University School of Law. She also had the opportunity to hone negotiation and dispute resolution skills at Harvard Law School.

Caroline cares about her clients well beyond the aspect of business. “I believe making money is a byproduct of being the best; care first about the client’s needs and the rest will follow”. She does not believe a personal injury firm should be driven by volume, but rather, it should have laser focus on obtaining maximum justice for each and every client. She understands the importance of representing a client whose life is altered by life-changing injuries.

Communication is key, “I get to know every client and their unique loss and situation, so that I can present this loss in a real and meaningful way to a jury or insurance adjuster” These aren’t just empty words: this is her promise.

First Choice Law and Caroline Fischer Espi represent those injured in car and commercial truck accidents, slip and fall and other injury causing events.

Caroline’s background and ability to speak English, Portuguese, and Spanish makes her a valuable asset to the diverse Florida community, as she is able to simplify complex legal concepts to clients in their own language.

When Orlando’s hospitality sector faced existential crisis in 2020, Jeffrey Gitto didn’t just counsel struggling entrepreneurs — he co-founded the Orlando Hospitality Alliance, uniting 130+ businesses to shape reasonable operating policies during a statewide shutdown. That same instinct — bringing together those who create jobs with those who shape policy — drives his practice at Green Space Legal PLLC.

A Tarpon Springs native who chose Orlando twentytwo years ago, Gitto earned his business education the hard way: patenting an invention and building seven companies before law school, then expanding with diverse ventures including a vineyard and agricultural genetics, while navigating hurricanes, wildfires and market crashes. He brings that operator’s wisdom to counseling entrepreneurs navigating Florida’s unique opportunities.

For over a decade, his civic architecture spans the Mennello Museum of American Art, Church Street District, and City of Orlando’s DTO Advisory Board, plus advocacy for Orlando’s Nighttime Economy Manager, recognizing the need in one of the nations largest visitor economies. His problem-solving

extends beyond Orlando: invited to address the FDA publicly on hemp policy in Washington (2019), orchestrating international agricultural partnerships that opened global markets, and guiding local tech companies through multi-state acquisitions and exits. These aren’t just deals — they’re job creators, tax generators, opportunity multipliers.

Excellence threads through education: J.D. cum laude from FAMU (elected class representative), LL.M. from Boston University, specialized training at Oxford, Siena, and Harvard. But his deepest education comes from two decades in Orlando’s business leadership. What distinguishes Gitto is synthesis: merging innovation culture with Florida enterprise, global perspective with local commitment, entrepreneurial urgency with legal focus.

As Orlando transforms from tourism dependency toward diverse economic resilience, Gitto helps builders and operators create companies, partnerships, and coalitions that will define your company’s next chapter.

BOLD, RICH, & MOTIVATING

Vietnamese Coffee in Orlando

Vietnamese coffee isn’t just a drink — it’s a ritual. Strong, smooth, and deeply energizing, it’s the perfect companion whether you’re diving into deep work, taking a mid-day reset, or rewarding yourself with a well-deserved indulgence. Orlando’s coffee scene is catching on fast, and Vietnamese coffee shops are becoming must-visit spots for anyone looking to elevate both their caffeine routine and their day.

VIETNAMESE COFFEE: STRONG, SWEET, AND CENTERED

At its core, Vietnamese coffee is a balance of bold strength and comforting sweetness. Traditionally brewed with a phin filter, the coffee drips slowly over condensed milk or ice, creating a drink that’s richer and smoother than a standard cup. The most popular style, cà phê sua dá (iced coffee with condensed milk), pairs dark-roast robusta beans with a creamy sweetness that makes each sip both indulgent and energizing.

This brewing method isn’t just about taste — it’s about ritual. The slow drip encourages patience, reflection, and presence before the coffee even reaches your lips. And when you finally take that first sip, the intensity wakes you up in more ways than one.

WHY COFFEE RITUALS CAN SHIFT YOUR WORKDAY

In a culture where workdays often stretch longer and screens never seem to turn off, small rituals can make a big difference. Coffee can be more than a jolt of caffeine — it can be a transition tool that helps you reset your focus, reframe your energy, and mark the shift between one part of your day and the next.

For focus: Caffeine, when timed right, sharpens attention and motivation. Vietnamese coffee, with its high caffeine content, is a strong yet steady way to get into a flow state without overloading.

For balance: Adding variety to your daily routine — like swapping a regular latte for a cà phê sua dá — breaks the monotony. These little changes keep your days from blending together and give you something to look forward to.

For indulgence: Coffee doesn’t have to be purely functional. Allowing yourself moments of enjoyment, whether through a sweet iced coffee or sitting in a cozy café, reminds you that your hard work deserves reward.

Think of Vietnamese coffee as both fuel and pause — a way to keep momentum while also treating yourself kindly.

ORLANDO’S EXPANDING COFFEE SCENE

Orlando has always had hidden gems when it comes to food and drink, but the coffee culture here has been evolving rapidly. Alongside third-wave roasters and trendy cafés, Vietnamese coffee is becoming a staple. What once was a niche order is now making its way into more menus and dedicated spots, driven by the city’s diversity and love of bold flavors.

Social media has also helped shine a light on these drinks, with their layered appearance, creamy textures, and iced refreshment becoming instant Instagram favorites. More importantly, they’re drawing people into Vietnamese-owned businesses that celebrate culture while introducing newcomers to a new kind of coffee ritual.

Ready to try it yourself? Here are some top spots around the city to sip a cà phê sữa đá and recharge your workday:

SUNLIT CITRUS FIZZ!

A Zesty Seasonal Cocktail

As summer settles in and golden light lingers longer, the Sunlit Citrus Fizz is the ideal cocktail to toast the season’s bright energy. This crisp drink combines the bold tartness of fresh lemon juice with a touch of honey syrup and the subtle botanicals of gin. Its pale yellow hue shimmers like sunlight in a glass, while a single lemon wheel floats on top, adding a simple yet elegant flourish to this invigorating sip.

Ingredients

2 oz fresh lemon juice

1.5 oz dry gin

1 oz honey syrup (1:1 honey and warm water)

3 oz club soda or sparkling water Ice cubes

Lemon wheel for garnish

Instructions

Begin by chilling your glass in the freezer for 10 minutes to elevate the cocktail’s refreshing finish. Once ready, fill the glass with ice cubes to keep the drink delightfully cool.

Add the lemon juice first, followed by the honey syrup and gin. Stir gently to blend the tart, sweet, and herbal elements without dulling their brightness. Slowly top with club soda, letting the effervescence lift the aromas and bring the drink to life.

To finish, place a fresh lemon wheel atop the cocktail—it floats effortlessly, lending visual charm and an extra burst of citrus scent.

Serve immediately and enjoy the Sunlit Citrus Fizz—a cocktail that captures the essence of a sun-drenched afternoon. Whether poured at a summer picnic or enjoyed in a quiet backyard moment, this drink offers a perfect balance of tangy zest and gentle sweetness. Here’s to savoring the season’s simplest pleasures—cheers!
