FESTIVAL INTERNAZIONALE DEL FILM SULL’ARTE E DI BIOGRAFIE D’ARTISTA 35^ EDIZIONE - ANIMAE 10 giorni di proiezioni cinematografiche d’autore, première italiane e rassegne di grandi registi internazionali. Spettacoli di danza e teatro. Mostre d’arte, workshop di videoarte e regia creativa. Splendida Madrina la ricercatrice e parlamentare indiana Prati Singh. Due ospiti d’eccezione: il cavaliere del lavoro Mariano Volani, fondatore del Festival Oriente-Occidente, del MART di Rovereto e del Museo Nazionale Giuseppe Verdi, e il direttore d’orchestra indiano Zubin Mehta, conosciuto ed apprezzato in tutto il mondo per le sue doti artistiche ed il suo impegno umanitario. Ma soprattutto incontri, relazioni, parternarriati: è questa l’essenza di Asolo Art Film Festival; la sua vera forza, sono le persone. Capaci di promuovere la vera cultura del dialogo e della collaborazione, nel mondo. Il Festival Internazionale di Film sull’Arte di Asolo è la più antica rassegna al mondo dedicata ai rapporti tra cinema e arti figurative: fondata nel 1973 dalla giornalista e critica cinematografica Flavia Paulon, ha riscosso da subito uno straordinario prestigio internazionale, tanto da essere presa a modello da altre più giovani esperienze in tutto il mondo. Dopo un’interruzione alla metà degli anni ‘90, il Festival è ripreso su iniziativa di Attilio Zamperoni, mente fervidissima e instancabile promotore artistico, dapprima con l’associazione AIAF ed ora con ALAArmonioso Labirinto Asolano. Al suo impegno e alla sua amicizia dedichiamo questa edizione del Festival: che sia l’occasione per apprezzare eccellenti film sull’arte e opere di videoarte da tante differenti nazionalità, di registi noti e giovani promesse, talora proiettati per la prima volta in Italia; e che rappresenti in particolare un momento di incontro, di conoscenza, di confronto con culture e genti diverse, all’insegna di quel dialogo sovranazionale e intergenerazionale, che Attilio ci ha insegnato

a coltivare come autentica risorsa per il futuro.

Dance and theatre shows. Art exhibitions and video-art workshops. The great Indian conductor Zubin Mehat as special guest, known and appreciated worldwide for his talent and his humanitarian commitment.

Then, above all, meetings, relations and partnerships: this is the essence of Asolo Art Film Festival. People, able to promote our territory in the world, are its real strength. Asolo International Festival of Films on Art is the oldest festival dedicated to the relationships between cinema and figurative arts: founded in 1973 by film journalist and critic Flavia Paulon, it immediately gained an extraordinary international acclaim. After an interruption in the mid-90s, the festival started again thanks to Attilio Zamperoni, tireless cultural promoter, first with AIAF cultural association and currently with ALA. We dedicate this year’ edition to Attilio, to his commitment and his friendship: may it be a chance to enjoy many art films from many different countries, by established or upcoming directors.

But especially may it be a moment of encounter, of knowledge and of debate between different cultures and different people, in the name of the cross-national and gross-generational dialogue that Attilio taught us to nurture as the only authentic resource for the future.

ANIMAE 35^ EDIZIONE - FESTIVAL INTERNAZIONALE DEL FILM SULL’ARTE E DI BIOGRAFIE D’ARTISTA L’etimologia della parola anima riconduce al concetto di soffio, vitale e spirituale, che pervade l’intero universo e racchiude l’essenza di una personalità: è insieme il Vento (che accarezza l’erba) e il Respiro; il Mondo (come volontà e rappresentazione), e il Soggetto, che riscopre il suo significato autentico soltanto nell’interazione, dialogica e spesso contraddittoria, con l’altro da sé.

Sono moltissime le “anime” di questa 35 edizione di AsoloArtFilmFestival: l’Anima Econologica,che si invera in particolare nella rassegna di videoarte “Eco as a Verb”, curata da Yunnia Yang, nell’anteprima mondiale della rassegna dedicata da Prati Singh al pluripremiato regista indiano Mike Pandey e nelle strepitose perfomance coreografiche del gruppo Dancecology, un autentico rito di simbiosi organica con la Natura.

L’Anima Cosmopolita, votata al dialogo e alla collaborazione tra culture, trova la sua più completa espressione negli eventi inerenti al progetto BRICS Art Asolo, che propongono un serrato e produttivo confronto tra le espressioni artistiche di Brasile, Russia, India, Cina, Sudafrica e ora anche Italia, attraverso proposte inerenti alle discipline del cinema e della musica, della poesia e della pittura, della danza e della fotografia. Quindi, nelle rassegne dei Festival del Cinema Russo, GO Film Festival e AVIFF, appuntamento consolidato il primo, originali gli altri nell’ambito di AsoloArtFilmFestival, tesi a far conoscere al pubblico italiano e straniero ospite ad Asolo le più interessanti tendenze della cinematografia internazionale, promuovendo l’istituzione di una rete di festival capace di valorizzare le peculiarità di ciascuna scuola in una prospettiva di confronto, che valichi i confini delle singole nazionalità.

Nei tanti momenti di formazione, rivolti alle più giovani generazioni, quali le serate

in collaborazione con Fondazione Mazzotti e Fondazione Benetton Studi e Ricerche, e nelle importanti occasioni di riconoscimento dell’esemplarità di percorsi professionali di altissimo livello artistico e umanitario, con gli speciali Bettina Ehrhardt e le cerimonie di conferimento del Premio Flavia Paulon al Cav. del Lavoro Mariano Volani e del Premio Città di Asolo per il Dialogo tra le Culture al direttore d’orchestra indiano Zubin Mehta, si consolida l’Anima Intergenerazionale, che fin dalle sue origini ha caratterizzato AsoloArtFilmFestival, nel suo costante impegno a far dialogore tra loro Tradizione e Innovazione e a far partecipare di una proposta cinematografica, considerata appannaggio di pochi cultori, il pubblico di ogni età e preparazione.

Soprattutto, attraverso la scelta di questo fil rouge, AsoloArtFilmFestival intende rendere doveroso tributo alla grande Anima di Attilio Zamperoni, colui che con il suo inesauribile impegno e la sua pervicacia ha saputo riscattare la rassegna dall’oblio, in cui era stata confinata sul finire dello scorso secolo, e farle nuovamente solcare, splendida Fenice, i più alti cieli del riconoscimento internazionale, riconfermandola quale manifestazione di prestigio e inarrivabile suggestione.

ANIMAE 35^ EDICTION - INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF FILMS ON ART AND ARTISTS’ BIOGRAPHIES The etymology of the word “anima” (soul) is connected to the concept of breath of life pervading the whole universe and it contains the essence of a personality: it is the Wind that shakes the grass and the Breath; the World (as will and representation), and the Subject, rediscovering its authentic meaning only in the interaction with what is different.

There are so many “animae” in the 35th edition of Asolo Art Film Festival: the Ecological Soul, embodied by the project “Eco as a Verb” curated by Yunnia Yang, by the world preview of the exhibition dedicated to the works of the Indian director Mike Pandey, curated by Prati Singh and by the extraordinary performances of Dancecology, a real ritual of symbiosis with Nature.

The Cosmopolitan Soul, aimed at the dialogue and collaboration among cultures, finds its expression in the events of the BRICS Art Asolo projects, showing a productive comparison among the artistic expressions of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa and now Italy as well, through different art forms such as music, cinema, poetry, painting, dance and photography.

Then, there are the Russian Cinema Festival, GO Film Festival and AVIFF Cannes. The first is a consolidate event here in Asolo, whereas the other two are new and are aimed at showing to the audience of the festival the most interesting tendencies of international cinema, promoting the creation of a network of festivals able to foster the dialogue and partnership between different countries.

The Intergenerational Soul of the festival is reinforced by the several educational

moments, aimed especially to the younger generations, such as the nights in part-

nership with Fondazione Mazzotti and Fondazione Benetton Studi e Ricerche, and in the acknowledgement of extraordinary careers of high cultural and humanitarian level, such as Bettina Ehrhardt and the awarding cerimonies of Mariano Volani (Premio Flavia Pauolon) and Zubin Mehta (Premio CittĂ di Asolo per il Dialogo tra le Culture). Asolo Art Film Festival has always tried to foster the dialogue between tradition and innovation, in order to reach a broader audience of all ages and cultural backgrounds.

Above all, by choosing this fil rouge, Asolo Art Film Festival wants to pay tribute to the great soul of Attilio Zamperoni, the one who saved the festival from the oblivion thanks to his tireless dedication and determination. Thanks to Attilio Asolo Art Film Festival, like a wonderful Phoenix, can spread its wings once again and reaffirm its international prestige.

ATTILIO ZAMPERONI L’ASOLANO ERRANTE Ricordare Attilio Zamperoni non è impresa semplice: fu infaticabile promotore culturale, mente fervidissima di innumerevoli progetti artistici, alcuni dei quali di grande successo anche internazionale, come la lungimirante impresa volta alla creazione di figure professionali da adibire come tecnici di teatro. O il Festival degli incontri musicali, che, con gli Amici della musica di Asolo, seppe riconfermare nel mondo il prestigio e la suggestione del borgo già amato da Eleonora Duse e Gianfrancesco Malipiero, richiamandovi i nomi più importanti del panorama musicale contemporaneo: il violinista Salvatore Accardo, il flautista Severino Gazzelloni, il pianista Svjatoslav Richter, il violinista Bruno Giuranna, l’Orchestra giovanile europea.

Nel 2001 votò le sue incontenibili energie e la sua contagiosa passione alla rinascita del più antico e prestigioso Festival Internazionale di Film sull’Arte, l’AsoloArtFilmFestival, fondato nel 1973 dalla giornalista, critica cinematografica e biennalista Flavia Paulon: grazie al suo carisma e per tramite dell’Associazione no profit A.I.A.F.AsoloInternationalArtFestival da lui costituita, la rassegna tornò a solcare i cieli della rinomanza internazionale, contando la partecipazione di oltre 80 nazioni per più di 8000 film pervenuti. Tra i premiati del quindicennio di gestione A.I.A.F. si ricordano Mario Martone, Nicole Romine, Liu Zchenchen, e le attrici Ottavia Piccolo e Golshifteh Farahani, insignite del Premio Eleonora Duse.

Mai scoraggiato dagli ostacoli, che poteva incontrare sulla sua strada, nel 2015 Attilio decise di portare avanti l’esperienza di AsoloArtFilmFestival con una nuova associazione non a scopi di lucro, ALA-Armonioso Labirinto Asolano, cui egli destinò l’intero patrimonio culturale e materiale di A.I.A.F., riconoscendola sua naturale erede nella vocazione al dialogo culturale ed alla promozione della cultura artistica e cinematografia, anche a scopi formativi.

Ma ricordare Attilio significa anche ricordare il suo genoroso sorriso, le parole di incoraggiamento che sapeva riservare a ciascuno, la sua impetuosa passionalità e il suo gargantuelico piacere al dialogo, allo stare insieme, alla convivialità, capaci di superare le differenze di lingua, educazione e nazionalità. Significa ricordare la sua

lezione di tollerenza, l’insegnamento a riconoscere e apprezzare ciò che costumi e usanze diverse possono sempre insegnarci. Significa una musica, una poesia, una foto o una cena insieme. Significa, per chiunque l’abbia conosciuto, un sospiro dal cuore.

Ecco perché in questa edizione di ArtFilmFestivalAsolo, a lui completamente dedicata, si è deciso di riservare un momento ufficiale di “Omaggio ad Attilio Zamperoni”, durante il quale ciascuno possa dedicare un pensiero, un’emozione, un ricordo alla sua Anima, che irradia della sua luce l’intera rassegna.

ATTILIO ZAMPERONI L’ASOLANO ERRANTE Remembering Attilio Zamperoni is not an easy thing to do: he was a tireless cultural promoter and the fervid mind behind several cultural projects, some of them very successful also on an international level, such as the creation of a school for theatrical technicians. Then, the Musical Encounters Festival which, along with the Asolo Friends of Music, was able to prove once again the prestige and the charm of this village, deeply loved by Eleonora Duse and Gianfrancesco Malipiero, bringing here the most renowned protagonists of the international music world: the violinist Salvatore Accardo, the flautist Severino Gazzeloni, the pianist Svjatoslav Richter, the violinist Bruno Giuranna and the European Union Youth Orchestra.

In 2001, he decided to devote all his energies and his contagious passion to the resurrection of the oldest and most prestigious International Festival of Films on Art, the Asolo Art Film Festival, founded in 1973 by the journalist and film critic Flavia Paulon: thanks to his charisma and through the work of the non-profit organization A.I.A.F. -AsoloInternationalArtFestival, Asolo Art Film Festival gained again its international renown, with the participation of more than 80 nations and more than 8000

films. During these 15 years of A.I.A.F: management, there are several award winners worth to remember, such as Mario Martone, Nicole Romine, Liu Zchenche, actresses Ottavia Piccolo and Golshifteh Farahani, who received the Eleonora Duse Award.

Despite the many obstacles, Attilio was never discouraged, and in 2015 he decided to continue

new non-profit organization, ALA - Armonioso Labirinto Asolano, to which he donated all of A.I.A.F. cultural and material heritage, declaring it the natural successor of A.I.A.F. in the vocation of fostering the dialogue among cultures and the promotion of art and cinema.

Remembering Attilio means also remembering his kind smile, the encouraging words he had for everyone, his impetuous passion and his love for people, for dialogue, for conviviality, beyond any linguistic, cultural and educational barrier. It means remembering what he taught us about tolerance and how much we can learn from other cultures. It’s a song, a poem or a dinner together. For all those who met him, it’s a whisper in the heart.

This is why in this edition of Asolo Art Film Festival, completely dedicated to him, we decided to have an official “Tribute to Attilio Zamperoni”, in which anyone can share a thought, a feeling, a memory, remembering his beautiful Soul, which shines its light upon the festival.

LUCA ZAIA PRESIDENTE DELLA REGIONE DEL VENETO Ritorna nella “città dei cento orizzonti” l’Asolo Art Film Festival, la più antica e tuttora una delle più prestigiose rassegne di film sull’arte a livello internazionale. Ritorna con quarant’anni di storia ed un catalogo di titoli, che giustamente la rendono un patrimonio culturale dell’intera comunità, cui di edizione in edizione ha illustrato in maniera assolutamente originale e convincente movimenti storici dell’arte e l’opera di artisti antichi e moderni operanti nei diversi campi dell’arte creativa, dalla pittura alla scultura, dall’architettura e l’urbanistica alla danza e il teatro, la letteratura e l’artigianato artistico antico e recente. Ritorna con le sue proiezioni cinematografiche, normalmente considerate di nicchia, ma che per suo tramite hanno saputo raggiungere il pubblico più vasto, e con le sue tante manifestazioni collaterali: mostre, spettacoli teatrali, eventi musicali e incontri con protagonisti, a ribadire l’interconnessione delle differenti espressioni artistiche e l’importanza del dialogo, sovradisciplinare e sovranazionale, in un’ottica di cultura realmente partecipata e condivisa.

Ritorna, infine, con un doloroso vuoto nel cuore per l’improvvisa scomparsa del suo promotore Attilio Zamperoni, ma anche con una fresca vitalità, quella voglia del fare e soprattutto del fare bene, che contraddistinguono l’operato veneto. In virtù dell’impegno, che durante la mia legislatura la Regione del Veneto ha perseguito con caparbietà e provati risultati nel rispondere con un’offerta variegata, democratica e qualitativamente rilevante alla domanda di cultura espressa dal territorio, non posso che ribadire il sostegno

dell’istituzione all’Asolo Art Film Festival ed al suo operato per la diffusione dei nostri fondamentali valori culturali.

PRESIDENT OF VENETO REGION Asolo Art Film Festival returns to the “city of a hundred horizons�, the oldest and still one of the most renowned international film festivals on art.

It returns with forty years of history and a catalogue of titles that make it a cultural heritage for the whole community. In every edition, Asolo Art Film Festival was able to describe, with an original and convincing approach, different art movements and artworks by both ancient and modern artists, working on all the different fields of creative arts, from painting to sculpture, from architecture to city planning, from dance to drama, from literature to craftsmanship. It returns with its film screenings, usually considered niche, but that can actually reach a broader audience; and with its many collateral events: exhibitions, plays, music events and meetings with artists, in order to reiterate the interconnection between different artistic expressions and the importance of a supranational dialogue in order to reach a truly shared culture. In the end, the festival returns this year with a painful hole in the heart for the sudden passing of its promoter Attilio Zamperoni, but also with a rediscovered vigour and will to maintain its prestige.

During my legislature, the Veneto Region has worked hard to offer its citizens a significant variety of cultural activities, and for this reason I want to express once again my support to Asolo Art Film Festival for its commitment in disseminating our cultural values.

Giunto alla sua 35 edizione, il Festival è sorto per iniziativa dello straordinario impegno e della lungimiranza di Flavia Paulon, che ha saputo comprendere le potenzialità, formative e partecipative, insite in una simile iniziativa: ci piace ricordarlo, la più antica al mondo nel suo genere!

Dopo una soluzione di continuità negli anni Novanta, il Festival ha spiegato nuovamente le sue ali di Fenice grazie alla caparbietà di Attilio Zamperoni, instancabile promotore culturale della Marca trevigiana: per merito del suo coraggio, della sua determinazione e dell’incredibile rete di relazioni, anche umane, che ha saputo creare intorno al Festival, la rassegna si è imposta nuovamente all’attenzione internazionale e si propone tuttoggi come una delle manifestazioni di settore più note e affascinanti, destinata, ci auguriamo, a proseguire nel suo impegno di promozione culturale e intrattenimento per molti anni a venire.

PRESIDENT OFT HE PROVINCE OF TREVISO Every late summer for the past forty years Asolo, an international symbol of history and culture, widens its eyes to observe the many facets of contemporary artistic expression through the consolidate event of Asolo Art Film Festival, the international Festival of films on art and artists’ biographies.

Currently at its 35th edition, the Festival was born thanks to the extraordinary commitment and foresight of Flavia Paulon, who was able to understand the intrinsic potentialities of such initiative: the oldest of its kind, as we like to remind you!

After an interruption in the 90s, Asolo Art Film Festival was able to spread its phoenix wings again thanks to the persistence of Attilio Zamperoni, tireless cultural promoter: thanks to his courage, his determination and the strong network of connections he was able to create around the festival, Asolo Art Film Festival was able to gain again an international acclaim and to this day is one of the most famous and fascinating events in the cinema panorama, destined, we hope, to carry on its commitment in cultural promotion and entertainment for many years to come.

The Province of Treviso is glad to support an event of such great cultural relevance, able to engage audiences of all ages and meet the interests of even the toughest critics.

MAURO MIGLIORINI SINDACO DELLA CITTA’ DI ASOLO Tra il fascino quasi incantato delle sue architetture e nell’armonia delle sue vedute, Asolo rinnova la sua millenaria tradizione di ospitalità per artisti e uomini e donne di Cultura e si accinge ad inaugurare la 35 edizione del più antico Festival al mondo dedicato alle intersezioni tra cinema e arti figurative: nei 10 giorni di AsoloArtFilmFestival, alta cultura e intrattenimento si fondono in un fitto programma di eventi ed appuntamenti aperti alla cittadinanza in maniera completamente gratuita.

Promotrice in prima persona del Festival, l’Amministrazione comunale di Asolo ha continuato a sostenerlo nei suoi ormai quarant’anni di vita, certo non lineari e non privi di difficoltà, ma che edizione dopo edizione hanno saputo riproporre il nostro piccolo storico borgo quale faro illuminante di tutto il territorio dell’”Asolano”, così ricco di bellezze naturali, paesaggistiche, storiche ed architettoniche, conosciute ed apprezzate in tutto il mondo.

MAYOR OF ASOLO In the enchanted charm of its architectures and the harmony of its views, Asolo renews its age-old tradition of hospitality towards artists and men and women of culture and launches the 35th edition of the oldest festival in the whole world dedicated to the relationships between cinema and figurative arts: during the 10 days of Asolo Art Film Festival, culture and entertainment will melt together within a rich programme of events and appointments opened to everyone free of charge.

The municipal administration of Asolo has always supported and promoted the Festival in its forty years existence. Despite many difficulties, through the years Asolo Art Film Festival was able to put in the spotlight the small town of Asolo with its natural, historical and architectural beauties, known and appreciated all over the world. We must thank Attilio Zamperoni who, with his commitment and his enthusiasm, was able to give a fresh impetus to the initiative, drawing the attention of both cinema lovers and generic audiences, and creating a strong network of relationships and partnerships that we intend to keep nurturing.

I wish all the success they deserve to all the directors, the artists and the organizers of Asolo Art Film Festival and a warm welcome to Asolo to the audience.

GILDO SALTON PRESIDENTE ALA Attilio Zamperoni è stato una figura centrale della cultura asolana e trevigiana tutta del Novecento: apprezzatore tenore, fervidissimo promotore culturale, delegato italiano in Russia, inventore di tanti festival culturali rivolti in particolare ai più giovani, artefice di quella fervidissima stagione culturale rappresentata dagli Amici della musica di Asolo e dal Festival degli incontri musicali, entrambi da lui fondati, che hanno portato ad Asolo i nomi più importanti del panorama musicale internazionale, come il violinista Salvatore Accardo, il flautista Severino Gazzeloni, il pianista Svjatoslav Richter, il violinista Bruno Giuranna, l’orchestra giovanile europea.

Ma per noi di ALA-Armonioso Labirinto Asolano, Attilio è l’uomo che ha saputo resuscitare il Festival Internazionale di Film sull’Arte, la più antica rassegna al mondo dedicata all’intersezione tra cinema e arti visive: grazie al suo impegno e alla sua instancabile dedizione, con l’associazione A.I.A.F. prima e con ALA poi, il Festival ha recuperato prestigio internazionale, proponendosi in breve tempo come una delle più rinomate e suggestive manifestazioni del settore. Soprattutto, per suo tramite, il Festival si è imposto anche come un’imperdibile occasione di incontro, di conoscenza, di dialogo culturale e democratico: un momento di festa e amicizia, che sa scavalcare gli ostacoli di lingua, formazione e nazionalità, nel piacere di stare insieme, imparando a riconoscere e apprezzare ciò che costumi e usanze diverse possono sempre insegnarci.

Nel ricordo di Attilio, che sapeva sempre valorizzare il talento insito in cia-

ALA PRESIDENT Attilio Zamperoni has been an essential cultural figure of Asolo and Treviso: esteemed tenor, fervid cultural promoter, Italian representative in Russia, inventor of many cultural festivals oriented especially to young people, creator of both Asolo Friends of Music and of the Musical Encounters Festival, two great initiatives that brought to Asolo the most renowned protagonists of the international music world, such as the violinist Salvatore Accardo, the flautist Severino Gazzeloni, the pianist Svjatoslav Richter, the violinist Bruno Giuranna and the European Union Youth Orchestra.To us of ALA-Armonioso Labirinto Asolano, Attilio was the man who brought back to life Asolo Art Film Festival, the oldest festival in the world dedicated to the intersection between cinema and visual arts. Thanks to Attilo’s commintment and his tireless dedication, first with the A.I.A.F. organization and now with ALA, the Festival regained its international prestige, establishing itself as one of the most interesting and renowned events in this field. Above all, thanks to Attilio, the Festival was able to become an essential occasion of encounter, of knowledge and of dialogue among different cultures: a moment of friendship, able to overcome the cultural and linguistic barriers, the different national backgrounds, in order to enjoy being together and learning to appreciate what different customs can teach us all.

In loving memory of Attilio, who was always prone to appreciate everyone’s talents, ALA wants to express its commintment in keeping this Festival alive along with his and our friends all over the world.

YUNNIA YANG Yunnia Yang è una curatrice, storica dell’arte e critica d’arte che vive e lavora a Taipei, Taiwan. Ha conseguito un Master in Storia dell’Arte all’Università Statale di San Pietroburgo in Russia nel 1997 e un Dottorato in Arte all’Università Nazionale Normale di Taiwan con la tesi “Studio sul ‘Criticismo paranoico’ di Salvador Dalí” nel 2009, per la quale è stata premiata con il S-An Aesthetics Award nel 2010. In questo periodo, ha organizzato ogni genere di mostre, spettacoli, ed eventi d’arte a Taiwan. Dal 2011, ha iniziato una ricerca curatoiale a lungo termine su “La Condizione Postmoderna nell’Arte Contemporanea di Russia ed Europa Orientale”.

L’Hong Kong World Cultures Festival 2013 è stato dedicato al tema centrale ‘L’eredità duratura dell’Europa Orientale’, ed ha invitato Yunnia Yang in qualità di guest-speaker per condividire I suoi due anni di ricerca e osservazione sulla Russia e l’Europa Orientale.

I progetti più rappresentatvi che ha curato sono “La Sensibilità Apocalittica: la New Media Art di Taiwan” (WRO Media Art Biennale 2013, Taipei Fine Art Museum nel 2015), “Immaginando la Crisi” (MOCA Taipei nel 2014, centri dell’arte contemporanea in Polonia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Colombia e 34e ArtFilmFestivalAsolo nel 20142015) e “Taiwan VIDEA: mostra dei Video dell’Avant-garde Taiwanese” (2015 ArtFilmFestivalAsolo).

Inoltre, la curatrice Yunnia Yang è stata invitata dal’ Asolo Art Film Festival come una giuria internazionale ed è stata infine selezionata

dal consiglio giuria internazionale come il Presidente del 35 ° Consiglio Giuria Internazionale di Asolo Art Film Festival.

Yunnia Yang is a curator, art historian and art critic based in Taipei, Taiwan. She earned a MA in Art History at St. Petersburg State University (Russia) in 1997, and a PhD in Arts at National Taiwan Normal University with the thesis ‘Study on “the Paranoiac-Criticism” of Salvador Dalí’ in 2009, for which she was given the S-An Aesthetics Award in 2010. In this period, she organized all kinds of exhibitions, performances, and art events in Taiwan. Since 2011, she has launched the long-term curatorial research on ‘ The Postmodern Condition in the contemporary art of Russia and Eastern Europe’. Hong Kong World Cultures Festival 2013 was dedivated to the focal theme ‘Lasting Legacies of Eastern Europe’ and invited Yunnia Yang as a guest speaker to share her two-year research and observation on Russia and Eastern Europe. Her representative curatorial projects are “The Apocalyptic Sensibility: The New Media Art from Taiwan” (WRO Media Art Biennale 2013, Taipei Fine Art Museum in 2015), “Imagining Crisis” (MOCA Taipei in 2014, contemporary art centers in Poland, Serbia, Bulgaria, Colombia and the 34th Asolo Art Film Festival in 2014-2015) and “Taiwan VIDEA: the Taiwanese Avant-garde Video Exhibition” (2015 Asolo Art Film Festival). In addition, the curator Yunnia Yang has been invited by the Asolo Art Film Festival as an international jury and has eventually been selected by the international jury board as the President of the 35th Asolo Art Film Festival’s International Jury Board.

SIMONA CARACENI Simona Caraceni is interested in new media communication and multimediality, and since ‘94 has been involved in new media and new technology in communications and art. She taught at the Universities of Bozen, Milan, Florence, Macerata and Bologna. Freelance journalist, she’s a columnist and leader writer for Artribune and some other newspapers and publications. She wrote a book about virtual museum in 2012, and over 50 scientific papers.

PhD at the Planetary Collegium of the University of Plymouth (UK), her research activity is concerned with virtual museums, manmachine interfaces, multimediality and multimodality, and new media languages of communication in heritage field. In the field of applied research she works on the opportunities of online communication, multimedia and multimodal interfaces, augmented reality, communication heritage and e-learning with University of Bologna, City Council of Bologna, Regional Council of Emilia Romagna and actually at Visit Lab of Cineca. Member of the Executive Board of AVICOM from 2009 to 2019, elected as Vice President of AVICOM in 2013 and General Secretary in 2016, she has been as well the coordinator of the Italian commission “Audio-Visuals and new Technology” for ICOM-Italy from 2007.

Simona Caraceni si interessa di new media communication e multimedialità, e fin dal ’94 si occupa di new media e nuove tecnologie per la comunicazione e le arti. Ha insegnato all’Università di Bolzano, Milano, Firenze, Macerata e Bologna. Giornalista freelance, è editorialista per Artribune e altre testate e pubblicazioni. Ha scritto un libro sul museo virtuale nel 2012 e oltre 50 articoli scientifici.

Ha conseguito un dottorato presso il Planetary Collegium dell’Università di Plymouth (Regno Unito); la sua attività di ricerca si occupa di musei virtuali, interfacce uomo-macchina, multimedialità e multi modalità , e linguaggi di comunicazione new media nell’ambito del patrimonio culturale. Nel campo della ricerca applicata lavora sulle opportunità della comunicazione online, delle interacce multimediali e multimodali, realtà aumentata, comunicazione per il patrimonio culturale ed e-learning con l’Università di Bologna, il Comune di Bologna, il Consiglio Regionale dell’Emilia Romagna e al Visit Lab di Cineca. Membro del consiglio d’amministrazione di AVICOM dal 2009 al 2019, eletta come Vicepresidente di AVICOM nel 2013 e segretario generale nel 2016, è anche coordinatrice della commissione italiana “Audio-visivi e Nuove tecnologie” di ICOM-Italy dal 2007.

RAFFAELE FEDERICI Raffaele Federici è docente in Sociologia dei Processi Culturali e della Comunicazione presso il Dipartimento di Ingegneria Civile e Ambientale dell’Università di Perugia; è scientific advisor presso la Turkish Military Academy di Ankara per il “Journal of Defence Sciences”; è membro del Centre Interdisciplinaire d’Analyse des Processus Humains et Sociaux dell’Università di Rennes – Alta Bretagna e del Centro per la Ricerca sulla Sicurezza Umana dell’Università degli Studi di Perugia.

E’ impegnato in progetti umanitari e di ricerca nella difesa dei diritti delle donne e dei minori in alcune aree del Medio Oriente e dell’Africa sub-sahariana.

E’ Autore di diverse monografie sui temi della comunicazione e delle relazioni fra le nuove tecnologie della informazione e la persona, sulla salute, e di articoli e saggi in lingua inglese e francese sull’arte, il cinema e lo sviluppo locale.

Studioso del pensiero paretiano, orteghiano e michelsiano ha tradotto in italiano alcune opere di Robert Michels dal tedesco.

Pittore informale ha esposto in molte città europee.

Raffaele Federici is professor of Sociology of Cultural Processes and Communication at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the University of Perugia. He is scientific advisor of the Turkish Military Academy of Ankara for the “Journal of Defence Sciences”; he is a member of the Centre Interdisciplinaire d’Analyse des Processus Humains et Sociaux of the University of Rennes-Upper Brittany and of the Research Centre for Human Safety of the University of Perugia.

He is involved in several humanitarian projects for the defence of women and children rights in some areas of the Middle East and sub-Saharan Africa.

He is the author of several monographies on communication and the relationship betwenn human beings and new technologies, on health, and of numerous articles and papers in English and French on art, cinema and local development.

He has translated from German some of the works by Robert Michels.

He is also an informal painter and has exhibited his works in different European cities.

JACOPO GANDOLFI Jacopo Gandolfi é regista di documentari e film di finzione. Il suo primo cortometraggio, Quante Cose Non Sono Chiamate Amore! é stato girato a Lisbona e presentato in quella città alla Cinemateca Portuguesa. Laureato al Dams di Bologna, ha continuato i suoi studi nella direzione per attori al Drama Centre di Londra. Nel 2007 gira il suo primo documentario a Istanbul, presentato in vari festival internazionali e da allora risiede in Turchia. Interessato alla Storia delle idee e del cinema, ha ideato corsi di linguaggio cinematografico per la scuola elementare italiana a Istanbul ed è stato Visiting Professor per la Istanbul Technical University. Collabora da anni con il poeta Domenico Brancale con cui ha prodotto diversi video d’artista, presentati in gallerie d’arte, sia in Italia che all’estero. Nell’ultimo anno ha collaborato con il corrispondente RAI nel montaggio, nelle riprese e nella regia di svariati reportage e servizi televisivi. Si interessa di studi islamici e tradizionali, con particolare interesse al movimento religioso e culturale del sufismo, per cui sta preparando un film di finzione.

Jacopo Gandolfi is a documentaries and feature films director.

His first short film “Quante Cose Non Sono Chiamate Amore!” (How Many Things Aren’t Called Love!) was shot in Lisbon and it was shown in that same city at Cinemateca Portuguesa. He graduated from Dams (Drama, Art and Music Studies) at University of Bologna and he then continued his studies in direction at Drama Centre in London. In 2007 he shot his first documentary in Istanbul, which was shown in several international festivals and since then he lives in Turkey. He is interested in the history of ideas and the history of cinema, he created a series of film language classes for the Italian elementary school in Istanbul and he was Visiting Professor at Istanbul Technical University. He has been working for years with poet Domenico Brancale, with whom he has produced several art videos that have been shown in art galleries, both in Italy and abroad. In the last year he has worked with RAI correspondents editing, shooting and directing several news reports. He is very interested in Islamic studies , particularly he is now planning to make a film about the cultural and religious movement of Sufism.

ALINE WILLIK Laureata in comunicazione, Aline è una giornalista e regista, una scrittrice e una produttrice. Lavora come giornalista culturale per una rete televisiva locale brasiliana chiamata “TV Cultura”. Al momento sta girando il suo quarto cortometraggio chiamato “A rose and a card, please” e sta prendendo parte ad un tour europeo con uno spettacolo teatrale da lei prodotto intitolato “Species”.

Graduated in Comunication on UFG, Aline is a Journalist and a film director, writer and producer. She works as reporter of culture in a local TV in Brazil Called “TV Cultura”. Now she is shooting her fourth short movie called “A rose and a card, please” and working with an European Tour with a Theatre Spectacle that she produces called “Species”.

A ZUBIN MEHTA: PREMIO CITTA’ DI ASOLO PER IL DIALOGO FRA LE CULTURE PER I VALORI INTERCULTURALI E L’IMPEGNO PACIFISTA DELLA SUA OPERA. Zubin Mehta nasce nel 1936 a Bombay e riceve la sua prima educazione musicale sotto la guida di suo padre, Mehli Mehta, rinomato violinista e fondatore dell’Orchestra Sinfonica di Bombay.

Nel 1954 si trasferisce a Vienna dove è fra gli allievi di Hans Swarowsky alla Akademie für Musik. Debutta come direttore d’orchestra a soli 26 anni con la “Tosca” a Montreal.

E’ stato direttore dell’Orchestra Sinfonica di Montreal dal 1961 al 1967, nonché direttore della Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra dal 1962 al 1978.

Nel 1969 comincia la sua collaborazione come consigliere musicale con l’Orchestra Filarmonica di Israele, diventandone il direttore nel 1977, incarico che nel 1981 gli verrà conferito a vita.

Zubin Mehta ha diretto oltre tremila concerti con il suo straordinario ensemble, con tournée che hanno coinvolto tutti i cinque continenti.

Nel 1978 diventa direttore della Filarmonica di New York, incarico che coprirà per 13 anni, il più longevo nella storia dell’orchestra.

Dal 1985 è direttore principale dell’Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino di Firenze.

Zubin Mehta è cittadino onorario sia di Firenze che di Tel Aviv; fra i numerosi riconoscimenti e onorificenze vanta anche una stella ad

Oltre ai suoi successi personali in ambito musicale, il maestro Mehta supporta da sempre i nuovi talenti in tutto il mondo. Assieme al fratello Zarin è il co-presidente della Mehli Mehta Music Foundation di Bombay, dove viene insegnata a piÚ di 200 bambini la musica classica occidentale.

FOR THE INTERCULTURAL VALUES AND THE SOCIAL COMMITMENT OF HIS WORK. Zubin Mehta was born in 1936 in Bombay and received his first musical education under his father’s Mehli Mehta’s guidance who was a noted concert violinist and the founder of the Bombay Symphony Orchestra.

In 1954 he moved to Vienna where he entered the conducting programme under Hans Swarowsky at the Akademie für Musik. He made his debut as an opera conductor at only 26 years old with Tosca in Montreal in 1963.

He is an honorary citizen of both Florence and Tel Aviv; among his numerous distinctions there is also a star on the Hollywood Boulevard.

Besides his personal success in the music field, Zubin Mehta continues to support the discovery of musical talents all over the world.

Grande sostenitore delle opportunità che la bellezza e la cultura possono offrire, specialmente in un paese come l’Italia, Mariano Volani comincia ad investire nella cultura già dagli anni ‘70. Negli anni 2000 è Co-Fondatore del MART-Museo d’arte moderna di Rovereto e Trento, nonché ideatore, realizzatore e finanziatore del Museo Nazionale Giuseppe Verdi in Villa Pallavicino di Busseto (città natale del grande Compositore).

Più di recente ha invece dato vita ad un’altra innovativa impresa: Fabrica Ludens, società per la modernizzazione di musei, mostre, basiliche e monumenti, aree archeologiche, parchi a tema e castelli grazie all’applicazione di videoguide multimediali “Smartguide system” e alla digitalizzazione dei capolavori e dei contenuti storico-artistici per un innovativo modello di fruizione da parte dei visitatori di tutto il mondo.

In questo 2016 Mariano Volani, chiamato dalle Autorità iraniane, è presente a Teheran con il progetto di riallestimento di ben 16 Musei in Joint-Venture tra Fabrica Ludens e GOPPION di Milano per modernizzare i contenuti e il percorso con la multimedialità e il rinnovo degli allestimenti interni, fermi da oltre 40 anni.

Always a great supporter of culture and beauty, Mariano Volani started to invest in the cultural field during the 70s. Un percorso nell’anima ferita e tra le celebri opere di un artista unico, narrato dalle sue lettere e accompagnato dalle immagini dei luoghi della sua vita, tra Arco e la Svizzera.

Pittore, anarchico, emarginato, clandestino: Giovanni Segantini è stato tutto questo, ed è riuscito a creare opere monumentali che celebrano un’immagine ideale della natura e del paesaggio alpino.

Nel corso della sua vita è salito sempre più in alto alla ricerca di una luce sempre più pura, e la morte l’ha colto a soli 41 anni proprio in un rifugio di montagna in Engadina, all’altezza di 2700 metri. Reduce dal successo nelle sale cinematografiche di Svizzera (dove ha registrato oltre 60mila spettatori), Germania e Austria, recente vincitore per la Miglior Biografia al Festival International du Film sur l’Art 2016 di Montréal, presentato per la prima volta in Italia al 64, Gioanni Segantini – Magia della Luce offre un prezioso e appassionante ritratto del maestro trentino, tra le figure più carismatiche della pittura europea di fine Ottocento. Segantini, nato ad Arco in provincia di Trento nel 1858, ha trascorso una vita intensa e tormentata, che lo ha portato a cercare e ricreare nei suoi quadri la vertigine dell’altitudine.

Le parole di Segantini riemergono da lettere e diari, affidate nella versione tedesca alla voce di Bruno Ganz, e in quella italiana, che si vedrà al festival, a quella del grande attore ticinese Teco Celio, premiato per la sua carriera al Festival del Film Locarno 2015.

Artist, anarchist, drop-out, sans papiers: Giovanni Segantini was all of this. He created, usually under the open sky, monumental works in the idealised image of nature of an alpine landscape. In the course of his lifetime he climbed ever higher in quest of more light.

He died at the age of 41 in an alpine hut at 2700m in the Engadine. The film provides insight into his difficult childhood and boyhood, shares his inner processes and crises as a painter, as well as his contradictory dealings with motherly love and eroticism – and ultimately his desperate struggle against death.

Questo documentario si propone di osservare un processo inosservabile: quello che fa si che una lettura diventi una sedia, un brano una barca, una persona una casa. Cercare di cogliere quel vissuto umano che Tobia Scarpa sembra utilizzare come principale materia dei suoi “oggetti”. Prima del legno, del ferro, del mattone. E poi loro, le cose con un’anima.

Un documentario nato da una serie di visite a Tobia Scarpa; visite mattutine, visite pomeridiane, visite come si bevesse un tè ma con due telecamere, un cavalletto e un po’ di luci. Cinque incontri in tre anni. Azioni quotidiane: leggere, guidare, fare di un foglio un aeroplanino di carta.

Poi, dal quotidiano allo straordinario: assistere alla genesi degli oggetti, vedere quel processo che da qualche parola e qualche tratto di lapis su di un foglio, porta a qualche cosa di inedito, qualche cosa che entrerà nel mondo delle cose concrete, toccabili.

This documentary tries to observe an unobservable process: the one that turns a reading into a chair, a song into a boat, a person into a house. It tries to grasp the humanity that Tobia Scarpa seems to use as the main substance of his “objects�. Before the wood, before the iron, before the brick. And then, there are the things with a soul.

A documentary made from a series of visits to Tabia Scarpa; morning visits, afternoon visits, visits to have a tea but with two cameras, a tripod and a few lights. Five encounters in three years. Daily activities: reading, driving, making a paper airplane.

Then, from ordinary to extraordinary: witnessing the creation of objects, seeing that process that from a few words and a few pencil strokes on a piece of paper leads to something new, something that will enter the world of real, tangible things. On the background, a musical improvisation: with some bamboos from his garden, some metal remains and a little bit of rope, Tobia Scarpa improvises a small concert. “Depero, Rovereto New York e altre storie”, per la regia di Nello Correale, è il primo film documentario sulla vita e l’opera di Fortunato Depero. Un artista davvero sorprendente che si è spinto ben al di là dei circuiti codificati dell’arte, incrociando l’avanguardia e costruendo una forma di arte totale che spazia dalla pittura al teatro, dalla scenografia alla fotografia, dalle arti applicate alla grafica pubblicitaria., dall’ ”onomalingua” all’editoria.

Nel film documentario, girato tra Rovereto, Milano, Trento e New York (dove ancora oggi sono presenti i segni della sua arte, riconosciuti ed apprezzati da musei come il Guggenheim), le testimonianze - tra gli altri - di Alessandro Mendini, Maurizio Nichetti, Mario Botta, Nicoletta Boschiero, Maurizio Scudiero, Viviane Green e Daniel Hurlin, propongono la visione del “futuro” di Depero come opera del presente coniugando il destino locale dell’artista con le sue tempestive e decisive aperture a livello nazionale e internazionale.

Il film documentario arriva proprio nel momento in cui si celebra il Manifesto della Ricostruzione Futurista dell’Universo (1915) firmato Balla-Depero. Il messaggio al mondo dell’arte era inequivocabile: «Noi futuristi, Balla e Depero, vogliamo realizzare

questa fusione totale per ricostruire l’universo rallegrandolo, cioè ricreandolo integralmente».

Grazie al sostegno di istituti, archivi, consulenti che fanno capo a musei sia italiani che americani abbiamo potuto, per la prima volta, fare un ritratto esaustivo dell’opera dell’artista roveretano.

Teresa e la dinamite (Edison, 1924): il lavoro di una donna che produce candelotti di dinamite negli anni Venti. Un documento d’Archivio del territorio piemontese, il dinamitificio Nobel di Avigliana, prende vita attraverso un’operazione di audionarrazione del film muto.

La narrazione drammaturgica entra nel vivo della memoria storica, facendola rivivere nel contemporaneo.

C’è spesso una zona franca tra il documentario storico e il pubblico. Come una sensazione di incapacità visionaria del documento proiettato, che il più delle volte rimanda realtà storiche troppo distanti dai giorni nostri. Questo lavoro è il primo di un progetto che, attraverso l’audionarrazione, intende colmare questo spazio di vuoto.

From her personal archives, the director gives new life to images filmed since 1981 in China, Indonesia, Brazil, France, Catalonia, the Netherlands, the United States and Quebec. The map is approached as a territory from which emerge landscapes of memories/images, bodies, architectures and cultures marked by the passage of time. This route ends with the director looking at her own bone mapping, revealing the precariousness of her health. Will the body he the new territory to explore?

Zubin Mehta, uno dei direttori d’orchestra più carismatici al mondo, quest’anno ha celebrato un’importante tappa quando ha compiuto ottant’anni il 29 aprile: un’occasione perfetta per onorare il Maestro con un film biografico.

Zubin Mehta è un cittadino del mondo.

Egli porta in sè molte caratteristiche differenti: la cultura indiana e la spiritualità Parsi; la cultura musicale di Vienna (la sua “casa musicale”, come lui stesso la chiama) e le tradizioni musicali dell’Asia, dell’Europa e del Nord America.

La regista Bettina Ehrhardt ha prodotto questo omaggio a Zubin Mehta seguendolo durante la tournée nella sua città natale di Mumbai, a Tel Aviv, a Firenze, a Berlino e a Monaco di Baviera. Il film vanta la presenza di artisti come Daniel Barenboim, grande amico di Zubin Mehta, della pianista Yuja Wang, e dei membri delle “sue” orchestre, che lo hanno nominato Direttore d’Orchestra a vita: la Filarmonica di Israele e l’Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.

Sono inoltre presenti anche dei contributi da altri membri di molte altre orchestre.

Il film ritrae un artista molto amato sia dal pubblico che dai musicisti per il calore che emana sia nella sua musica che

Zubin Mehta, one of the music world’s most charismatic conductors, celebrates a milestone when he turns eighty on 29th April. It’s the perfect moment to honour the Maestro with a film portrait.

Zubin Mehta is a citizen of the world. He combines many different characteristics: Indian culture and Parsi spirituality; the musical culture of Vienna (his “musical home”, as he calls it); and the music traditions of Asia, Europe and North America.

Film maker Bettina Ehrhardt has produced a tribute to Zubin Mehta, following him on tour to his home town of Mumbai, to Tel Aviv, Florence, Berlin and to Munich.

Her film portrait features artists such as Daniel Barenboim, Zubin Mehta’s lifelong friend, pianist Yuja Wang, and members of “his” orchestras, who have appointed him Music Director for Life: the Israel Phiharmonic Orchestra and the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. There are contributions also from members of many other orchestras that he serves as Music Director Laureate.

This film portrays an artist beloved by audiences and musicians alike for the warmth he radiates both in his music-making and in his life.

Il film traccia la storia di “Intolleranza 1960”, opera di teatro musicale con la quale Luigi Nono rispose ai grandi soggetti politici del suo tempo: Emigrazione e xenofobia, tortura, disastri industriali e catastrofi naturali. Nono volevo essere testimone del proprio tempo - musica e politica erano per lui inseparabili.

Al centro dell’azione il personaggio dell’emigrante, rappresentato nel film dal ballerino africano Koffi Kôkô, in scene che oscillano tra danza e documentario. La prima mondiale, a Venezia nel 1961, fece scandalo - i testimoni dell’epoca la raccontano parlando delle posizioni estetiche e politiche di Nono. Tra loro: Nuria Schoenberg Nono, la soprano Catherine Gayer, Emilio Vedova, pittore e scenografo dell’opera, il filosofo e sindaco di Venezia Massimo Cacciari e il compositore e allievo di Nono Helmut Lachenmann. L’umanesimo di Nono resta attuale: “Sempre la genesi di un mio lavoro è da ricercare in una “provocazione” umana: un avvenimento, una esperienza, un testo della nostra vita provoca il mio istinto e la mia coscienza a dare testimonianza come musicista-uomo.”

BETTINA EHRHARDT BETTINA EHRHARDT è giornalista, regista e produttrice per la televisione, è titolare di una Maîtrise in Lettere Moderne e di un diploma specialistico in cinema all’Université de Lyon II. Tra i suoi film il ritratto della percussionista americana Robyn Schulkowsky, dei registi Yoshi Oida e Peter Konwitschny e dei musicisti Bobby McFerrin e Chick Corea. The film traces the history of “Intolleranza 1960” (Intolerance 1960), a musical theatre work by Luigi Nono that addresses the main political issues of his time: emigration and xenophobia, torture, industrial disasters e natural catastrophes.

Nono wanted to be a witness to his time – music and politics were inseparable to him. At the heart of the action is the emigrant character, played in the movie by the African dancer Koffi Kôkô, in scenes that fluctuate between ballet and documentary. Its world premiere in Venice in 1961 provoked a scandal – those who could witness it talk about it mentioning Nono’s aesthetical and political opinions.

Among them: Nuria Schoenberg Nono, soprano Catherine Gayer, Emilio Vedova, painter and set designer of Nono’s work, philosopher and mayor of Venice Massimo Cacciari and composer and Nono’s pupil Helmut Lachenmann. BETTINA EHRHARDT is a journalist, television producer and director. She holds a master’s degree in French Literature and also received a diploma in Cinema Art from the University of Lyon. Her films include portraits of the American percussionist Robyn Schulkowsky, the stage directors Yoshi Oida and Peter Konwitschny, and the musicians Bobby McFerrin and Chick Corea. Rosaline accetta di posare per Georges in modo da poterlo aiutare a far emergere dall’argilla con cui scolpisce i suoi burattini la faccia di quella donna. Durante le loro numerose sedute, Rosaline trova una nuova ed inaspettata speranza.

Ma una volta terminato il burattino, il loro momento di grazia giunge alla fine e lei è costretta a far ritorno nella sua insoddisfazione. Mentre la sua situazione sembra di nuovo senza speranza, Rosaline assiste al miracolo che ha aspettato così a lungo.

It wasn’t until she lost faith in God that Rosaline started seeing miracles…One evening, she meets Georges, a quirky puppeteer. She physically reminds him of a woman he lost in his past.

Rosaline agrees to pose for Georges so as to help him bring the face of that woman out of the clay he sculpts his puppets from.

During their numerous posing sessions, Rosaline finds a new, unexpected hope. But once the puppet is finished, their moment of grace comes to an end and she must return of her discontent.

Questo lavoro è un balletto realizzato usando il suono e il movimento delle alghe e dell’acqua acqua. Con il corso d’acqua che funge da teatro, ho filmato la coreografia delle alghe che scorrono nell’acqua. Ho girato il filmato utilizzando una camera waterproof posta su uno slider dolly. Usando questo dispositivo ho simulato per lo spettatore l’esperienza di camminare attraverso il corso d’acqua. Nei corsi d’acqua artificiali delle risaie, l’acqua presente in natura è costretta a seguire delle regole artificiali. In questo modo, la natura diventa astratta, dando vita ad una nuova forma di bellezza diversa da quella naturale.Il tema di questo lavoro è la vivacità dell’acqua mentre segue un percorso creato dall’uomo.

This work is a ballet using the sound and the movement of the algae and water. With the waterway as the theater, I filmed the choreography of the algae that flows in the water.I shot this with a waterproof camera on a slider dolly . Using this device I created a simulated experience of walking through the waterway for the viewer. In the man-made waterways of rice paddies, the water in nature must follow artificial rules. In that way, nature is made abstract, giving rise to a new form of

beauty distinct from the natural state.The theme of this work is the liveliness of the water as it follows the man-made course.

FESTIVAL DEL CINEMA RUSSO

Il Festival del Cinema Russo è un’iniziativa promossa dal Ministero della Federazione Russa, la Fondazione Culturale Russa e la Direzione dei programmi internazionali all’interno dell’ArtFilmFestival Asolo, tesa a far conoscere e valorizzare la cultura cinematografica russa tra il pubblico italiano: edizione dopo edizione vengono presentati i lavori dei più noti registi russi contemporanei e le promettenti esperienze dei giovani cineasti. Obiettivo del Festival del Cinema Russo è rafforzare i legami culturali, in particolare nell’ambito della cinematografia, tra l’Italia e la Russia, in linea con la vocazione internazionale e cosmopolita che ha caratterizzato l’ArtFilmFestival Asolo fin dalle sue origini: la sua prima edizione del 1973 fu infatti vinta proprio dal regista Andrj Tarkovsky con il capolavoro Andrej Rubliov.

Il programma del Festival del Cinema Russo di quest’anno risulta di particolare interesse per la qualità dei film proposti, i quali, nelle loro differenze di contenuto, spirito, tematica, modalità espressiva, regalano un significativo quadro dei molteplici orientamenti della contemporanea cinematografia russa.

The Festival of Russian Cinema is an initiatve promoted by the Ministry of Russian Federation, the Russian Cultural Foundation and the International Programs Direction of Asolo Art Film Festival, aimed to promote the knowledge of Russian cinema among Italian audiences. In each edition the films of the most renowned Russian contemporary directors are shown along with the works of the most promising upcoming filmmakers.

The aim pf the Festival is to reinforce the cultural relationship between Italia and Russia, especially in the cinema field, following the international and cosmopolitan vocation that has always characterized Asolo Art Film Festival: its first edition in 1973 was won by the Russian director Andrej Tarkovsky with his masterpiece “Andrej Rubliov”.

The program of the Festival of Russian Cinema of this year is very interesting thanks to the high quality of the films, which, despite their different subjects and style, offer a significant description of the multiple tendencies of today’s Russian cinematography.

GO FILM FESTIVAL 2016 RASSEGNA BRASILIANA GOIÂNA – GOIÁS GO FILM - il primo Film Festival di Goiania ha incitato i registi Brasiliani a creare in 24 ore un cortometraggio con una lunghezza massima di 3 minuti e avente per tema la grande città. Il tema è stato scelto in onore del Cinema Novo brasiliano. I migliori corti hanno ottenuto un premio e tutti sono statiproiettati al Lumière Shopping Bougainville di Goiânia nelle giornate del 30 e 31 maggio e 1 giugno. Lo scopo del festival è quello di aumentare la produzione filmica di Goiania e del Brasile attraverso un progetto pioneristico e attraverso una collaborazione con Asolo Art Film Festival, che è stato uno dei principali sostenitori del festival su tutti i media (poster, internet ecc.), unendo così i due paesi. Durante GO FILM è stata organizzata una rassegna di film provenienti dal festival di Asolo in modo da mostrare ai registi brasiliani il tipo di progetti che vengono proiettati ad Asolo e poterli così incoraggiare. GO FILM - 1st Goiania Film Festival instigated audiovisual producers in Brazil to create short movies with up to 3 minutes lenght in 24 hours, from the theme “BIG CITY”. The theme was in honour of the Brazilian Cinema Novo.

The best short films got a special award and all of them were shown at Lumière Shopping Bougainville , in Goiânia -GO , on 30th and 31st May and 1st June . The purpose of the festival is to increase Goiana and Brazil production through a pioner project and through a partnership with the ASOLO ART FILM FESTIVAL - which has been one of the great supporters of the festival in all the media (posters, internet etc), connecting the two countries. Exhibitions of short films from Asolo festival were shown during GO FILM in order to show Brazilain filmmakers the major projects that have been displayed in Asolo and to encourage them. “ ECO AS A VERB” ( ECO COMME UN VERBE) CURATRICE: YUNNIA YANG “Eco come Verbo” significa considerare l’Ecologia come un Verbo, un’azione da compiere piuttosto che un qualcosa da comprendere. La maggior parte delle persone sanno come amare il pianeta e aumentare la consapevolezza ambientale, ma ci sono ancora grandi passi da fare tra la consapevolezza e l’azione. I documentari e i video presenti in questa rassegna non hanno lo scopo di iniziare un nuovo movimento di attivismo ambientale, ma piuttosto portare lo spettatore a chiedersi cosa può fare di propria iniziativa per migliorare la situazione e salvaguardare l’ambiente. Non c’è bisogno di formare alcuna alleanza, solamente di lasciarsi commuovere, e poi fare qualcosa! ECO CREATIVITÀ Affrontare l’esaurimento delle risorse, la messa a rischio dell’ambiente: come possono gli esseri umani ribaltare queste condizioni di vita con la loro creatività? “Angel Azul” ci mostra un museo sottomarino che funge da riparo per la barriera corallina in modo che possa vivere con dignità. “Second Wind” è una triste metafora post-apocalittica sulla felicità che si può trovare nella memoria e nell’immaginazione e sulla bellezza che si può trovare in una terra deserta.

Il pensiero positivo è l’istinto di sopravvivenza che noi contemporanei dovremmo mantenere.

In “Rubbing the City: Beautiful Dirty Bubble”, l’artista Tsuei Kuang-Yu trasforma l’inquinamento prodotto dagli autobus in bellissime bolle a simboleggiare il potere alchemico dell’arte.

ECO APOCALISSE Secondo una prospettiva utopistica, gli esseri umani intrappolano sempre sé stessi in una specie di palude mettendo in pericolo l’intera ecologia senza rendersene conto. “Renew: the future not future” , “ Arcadia”, “Inverso Mundus” insinuano che gli esseri umani non possono espiare le loro colpe per il puro scopo di inseguire il progresso e il benessere. Di conseguenza, “Renew” non indica una nuova nascita ma piuttosto la paura e il pentimento nei confronti degli esseri umani del futuro. Con l’utilizzo di campi lunghi, “Arcadia” rivela la dura realtà dell’arcadia che gli esseri umani immaginano. Apparentemente assurdo “Inverso Mundus” lascia sottintendere

la forza del contrattacco naturale. Gli esseri umani si reputano esseri superiori e abusano del loro dominio, senza alcun riguardo per la natura devastata, ma il prezzo da pagare per questo comportamento è ben al di là di ogni immaginazione.

ECO-CATENA UMANA “Ecologia” in Greco significa “Casa”, un uomo e la sua casa interna ed esterna. Una famiglia che vive assieme in armonia può nutrire un essere umano e arricchire la sua vita. Ma se assumiamo l’attitudine del possesso e dello sfruttamento, questa casa si distruggerà da sola alla fine. Otto film ci faranno riflettere sulle relazioni tra la civiltà umana e l’etica ecologica

ECO MITOLOGIA Tramite l’interpretazione della razionalità umana e della sensibilità, della realtà e della fantasia offerta dai miti, gli esseri umani conducono una misteriosa conversazione incontrando la natura e la civiltà e trasformandosi a loro volta in un nuovo mito. “Imago Typhonis” riflette le preoccupazioni della globalizzazione che le varie culture vengano semplificate secondo codici universali. Eliminare o distorcere le caratteristiche di una certa cultura significa la morte per tale ecologia culturale.

“Insatiable” è una metafora riguardante la cultura del mercato notturno in Taiwan. Una potente creatura fluttua di fronte a noi come il miraggio del mostro di Loch Ness. Questo serpente interno inghiottirà sé stesso e distruggerà l’ecologia. “Death is Life” riguarda un mito secondo il quale gli esseri umani possiedono un certo senso di consapevolezza riguardo la rinascita, possono immaginare e amare la vita infinitamente.

SPECIAL FOCUS: DANCECOLOGY Fondendo il concetto di ecologia con quello di coreografia contemporanea, Dancecology, dal Taiwan, è una realtà unica nel suo genere. Fondata nel 2009, il direttore artistico Peng Hsiao-Yin utilizza il concetto di “circolazione e coesistenza” derivante dal sistema ecologico per creare movimenti organici, nella forma di arti interdisciplinari in modo da invitare tutto il pubblico a vivere la coesistenza estetica tra spazio e ambiente naturale. Per la 30^ edizione nel 2011, Dancecology presentò “Dancing of Time”, che sprigionò l’energia della danza per tutta Asolo. Il lavoro venne accolto con successo dal pubblico e dagli abitanti. Per la 35^ edizione, Dancecology vorrebbe dedicare il suo nuovo lavoro “Flowing Landscape”, performance di aperture e chiusura del festival, alla memoria del leader spiritual di Asolo Art Film Festival – Attilio Zamperoni. Inoltre, dal 2012 Dancecology esplora il linguaggio filmico di Dance Video, continuando a portare la preoccupazione per l’ambiente nei video.

In questa edizione saranno presentati sei video di Dancecology.

“ ECO AS A VERB” ( ECO COMME UN VERBE) CURATOR: YUNNIA YANG “Eco As A Verb” means to regard “Ecology” as a Verb, an Action to do it, instead of understanding it. Most people know to love the planet and raise the environmental awareness, but there are big steps from awareness to actions. The green documentaries or contemporary videos here are nor to initiate another environmental activism, but to suggest that after watching these films each viewer may think what he can do by his own for the good sake of our environment to improve the current situation. There is no need to make any alliance, but to be touched, then just do it! Although the notion “Eco as a Verb” is proposed in the 35th Asolo Art Film Festival, we truly hope it can work in practice all over the world. The focal theme project“Eco As A Verb” includes five categories: “Eco Creativity”, “Eco Apocalypse”, “Eco-Human Chain”, “Eco Mythology”, and “Special Focus: Dancecology”

ECO CREATIVITY Facing to the exhaustion of resources, the endangerment of environment, how the human beings proud of creativity could overturn such a poor living condition - ”Angel Azul” shows a submarine museum as a shelter for coral reefs to live gracefully. “Second Wind” is a sad metaphor of the post-apocalyptic survival happiness that it still could be found the memories and the imaginations about the natural beauty in such a deserted land. The positive thinking is the survival attitude we contemporaries shall keep. In “Rubbing the City: Beautiful Dirty Bubble”, the artist Tsuei Kuang-Yu transforms bus pollution into beautiful bubbles as the alchemic power of art.

ECO APOCALYPSE For utopian perspective, human beings always trap themselves into a kind of swamp endangering the whole ecology without any awareness. “Renew: the future not future” , “ Arcadia”, “Inverso Mundus” all imply the same context that human beings cannot compensate their faults for the sake of pursuing progress and comfort. Therefore, “Renew” is nor a new birth, but a fear and regret to the living being of the future. With the long shots, “Arcadia” discloses the cruel truth of the arcadia that human beings imagine. Seemingly absurd “Inverso Mundus” implies the strength of natural counterattack. As human beings think themselves as a high-level creature, misusing domination, regardless of the seriously devastated nature, the price for this bad manner is far to imagine.

ECO-HUMAN CHAIN “Ecology” in Greek means “House”, a man and his internal/external house. A family living together in harmony can nurture a human being and enrich his life. If with the attitude of possession and exploitation, this house will be destroyed by his own eventually. Eight films will give us the reflections on the relations between human civilization and ecological ethics.

ECO MYTHOLOGY By means of myths interpreting human rationality and sensibility, reality and fantasy, human beings will also lead a mysterious conversation encountering nature and civilization and turn into a new myth. “ Imago Typhonis” reflects the worries of globalization that the featured cultures are constantly simplified to the universal codes. To delete or twist the cultural features is a death for that cultural ecology. “Insatiable” is a metaphor about the night market culture in Taiwan. A powerful consuming giant creature floats in front of us just like the mirage of Loch Ness Monster. As if everyone to indulge in carnal pleasure without restraint, this inner serpent will swallow the self and exhaust the ecology. “Death is Life” is about a life myth that human beings have a sense of awareness about the rebirth sign born of the natural change encountering the death, to love and imagine life endlessly.

SPECIAL FOCUS: DANCECOLOGY Fusing the notion of ecology into the contemporary choreography, Dancecology from Taiwan is one of the kind. Founded in 2009, the artistic director Peng Hsiao-Yin employs the concept of “Circulation and Coexistence” from ecological system to create organic movements, in the form of interdisciplinary arts to invite all the audience to experience the aesthetics coexistent with environment and space. For the 30th edition in 2011 , Dancecolgy presented “ Dancing of Time”, which spread out the energy of dancing all over Asolo. Just like an aesthetic reflection of a plant’s growing strength and nature itself. This works was favored by film audience and local inhabitants. In the 35th anniversary , Dancecolgy would like to dedicate to the metaphor of life color with the new work “ Flowing Landscape” as the opening / closing performances and “Whisper in Town” series, in memory of the spiritual leader of Asolo Art Film Festival –Attilio Zamperoni. Besides, since 2012 Dancecolgy explores the filmic language of Dance Video, continues to bring the ecological concern into videos. This edition will present six Dance Videos of Dancecolgy.

SECOND WIND SERGEY TSYSS “Second Wind” è un cortometraggio che cerca di risolvere un difficile problema – mostrare il tragico destino del pianeta in forma ridotta. Forse è per questo che non ci sono dialoghi nel film, soltanto il pianto disperato del protagonista. Questa persona è costretta a vivere nel vuoto di una natura ormai morta, ma come un poeta incauto, egli legge ogni giorno la sua poesia al vento secco e ai fiori fatti di lattine. Non ci sono né parole né rime in questa poesia – c’è solo il vento, il secondo vento.

Second Wind is a short film that attempts to solve a difficult problem - to show the tragic destiny of the planet in small form.

Maybe this is why the film has no words in it, but only the main character’s cry of despair. This person is forced to live in the vacuum of the dead nature, but like a reckless poet, he reads his naive poem every day to the dry wind and flowers made of cans. There are neither words nor rhymes in this poem – there is only wind, the second wind.

RUBBING THE CITY: BEAUTIFUL DIRTY BUBBLE TSUI KUANG-YU “Per questo video ho prima creato una macchina per le bolle che funzionasse con il gas di scarico degli autobus. Lo scopo era di trasformare gli autobus cittadini che trasportano i passeggeri, gli autobus turistici oppure i camion in macchine ambulanti che producono bolle attraversando la città, coprendo la sporca aria di città con la bellezza delle possibilità immaginative. In maniera simile ai vari oggetti che riempiono le nostre vite quotidiane, sono convinto che attraverso questa trasformazione, questa imperfezione può diventare uno show urbano di bolle di sapone.

Allo stesso tempo, attraverso questo contrasto simbolico, provo a chiedere: dietro questi abbellimenti retorici della moderna vita quotidiana, cos’è che in definitiva modella e guida le nostre vite?

E abbiamo noi la capacità di immaginare o creare una relazione tra questo sistema di vita e noi stessi?”

“ For this video, I first created a bubble machine that runs on the exhaust of buses. The goal was to transform these passenger-carrying city buses, tourist buses, or trucks into mobile bubble machines that criss-cross the city, coating the dirty city air with the beauty of imaginative possibilities. Similar to the various objects that fill our daily lives, I am optimistic that through this transformation and whitewash, this imperfection can in fact become a street bubble show reverie. At the same time, through this symbolic contrast, I try to ask: Behind this sugar-coated rhetoric of modern day life, what is it that ultimately shapes and drives our lives? And do we have the ability to imagine or even create a relationship between this system of life and ourselves?”

RENEW: THE FUTURE NOT FUTURE ZHANG XU ZHAN Di che cosa avremo bisogno nel futuro? Gli esseri umani continuano a rinnovare le loro città per il futuro oppure vogliono solamente inseguire i loro desideri mai soddisfatti. I mostri di pittura nera liquida sono accenni all’ecologia futura.

Gli alberi giganti si rifiutano di respirare provocando l’alto spreco acido e l’erosione che affliggono l’intera biosfera.

L’avida natura umana è difficile da cambiare. Il mondo è un edificio su larga scala sotto il circolo vizioso ecologico e possiamo prevedere che nel futuro la terra diventerà un monumento senza vita nell’universo. Gli esseri umani vogliono creare un futuro migliore, ma ironicamente, abbiamo distrutto il futuro.

What do we need in the future? Human beings continue to renew their city for the beautiful future or just want to pursuit the never satisfied desires. The black liquid paint monsters were the implication of the future ecology.

The huge trees refuse to breath and provoke the high acidic waste and erosion effect the whole biosphere. The greedy human nature is hard to change. The world is a large-scale building under the ecological vicious cycle and we can predict that the earth in the universe will become a lifeless monument in the future. Human beings want to create a better future, but ironically, we have constructed is no future.

Una risposta metaforica digitalmente aumentata a una domanda millenaria, ovvero, c’è un lato oscuro del tentativo umano di creare un habitat perfetto in grado di sostenere lo stile di vita che abbiamo scelto entro i naturali limiti del pianeta terra?

L’idea di Utopia di una persona può essere l’incubo di un’altra. Gli sfondi per “Arcadia” sono stati filmati nell’immacolato scudo precambriano canadese, il quale contiene alcune delle formazioni rocciose più antiche al mondo. Ogni scena è stata poi aumentata digitalmente incorporando elementi che non potrebbero mai essere accaduti in maniera naturale. Per esempio, in una scena, diverse copie di un danzatore ispirato dal movimento giapponese Butoh sono poste nel paesaggio con delle ciminiere giganti.

L’inspiegabile verosimiglianza convince lo spettatore che la scena è stata catturata così dalla telecamera, e costringe lo spettatore a reinterpretare la propria comprensione dell’Utopia, l’impatto dell’attività umana e la nostra posizione morale nei confronti dell’ambiente e degli uni con gli altri

A digitally augmented metaphorical response to an age-old question, namely, is there a dark side to the human endeavor to create the perfect habitation able to sustain the lifestyle of our own choosing within the natural limitations of the planet earth?

One person’s notion of Utopia is another person’s nightmare. The background scenes for Arcadia were shot in the pristine Canadian Pre-Cambrian Shield that contains some of the oldest rock formations on the planet. Each scene was then digitally augmented incorporating elements that never could have occurred naturally. F or example, in one scene, multiple copies of a dancer inspired by the Japanese Butoh movement are placed into the scenery along with giant smokestacks.

The uncanniness of the verisimilitude convinces the viewer that the scene was captured as is with the camera, and causes the viewer to re-interpret their understanding of Utopia, the impact of human activity, and our moral stance to our environment and to each other.

INVERSO MUNDUS AES+F Mundus, “mondo” in latino e Inverso, “rovescio, storto” in italiano e “poesia” in italiano antico, allude al processo artistico. Nella nostra interpretazione, le assurde scene di questo carnevale medievale sembrano episodi della vita contemporanea. I personaggi mettono in scena assurde utopie sociali e si scambiano maschere, trasformandosi da mendicante a ricco, da poliziotto a ladro. Spazzini metrosexual inondano la città di rifiuti. Alcune inquisitrici torturano degli uomini su delle strutture dell’Ikea.

Vecchi e bambini si scontrano in un match di kickboxing. Inverso Mundus è un mondo dove le chimere sono animali domestici e l’Apocalisse è uno svago.

Mundus – the Latin “world” and Inverso – is both an Italian “reverse, the opposite” and the Old Italian “poetry,” which alludes to the art processing. In our interpretation, the absurdist scenes from the medieval carnival appear as episodes of contemporary life. Characters act out scenes of absurd social utopias and exchange masks, morphing from beggars to rich men, from policemen to thieves. Metro sexual street-cleaners are showering the city with refuse. Female inquisitors torture men on IKEA-style structures.

IMAGO TYPHONIS ALBERT MERINO “Imago Typhonis” è una favola sui miti di fondazione che suppongono che la diversità parta dai nostri stessi referenti, e come i miti incidano sulla percezione dell’ambiente. Una poesia di Fernando de Valverde sul Santuario di Copacabana, in Bolivia, interpreta il mito delle Ande usando un paragone con i miti dell’antica Grecia. Usando i nostri riferimenti per spiegare la diversità possiamo chiederci se stiamo forse tentando di parlare di noi stessi attraverso il diverso. Questo sforzo è destinato al fallimento i quanto entrambi gli universi sono irreconciliabili. “Imago Typhonis” è una riflessione sull’impossibilità di ritenere nostra la diversità, e sulle diverse strategie di appropriazione tra diversi immaginari.

“Imago Typhonis” is a tale about foundation myths who assumes the otherness departing from our owns referents, and how the myths incise in the perception of the environment A poem from Fernando de Valverde about the Sanctuary of Copacabana, in Bolivia, interpret the myths of the Andes using and comparison with the ancient Greek Myths. Using the own referents for explaining the otherness we can ask ourselves if we are maybe trying to talk about us using the strange. This effort is condemned to the failure because both Universes are irreconcilables. “Imago Typhonis” is a reflection about the impossibility to assume the otherness as our own, and of the different strategies

The Insatiable è parte di una serie di video intitolata “Feast and Metamorphosis”, la quale è stata creata durante una residenza artistica nel mio paese natale, il Taiwan. Si tratta del mio primo lavoro prodotto lì dopo 16 anni all’estero. Fa eco al tema della mia serie di video “Things that are edible” del 2002. Mentre quest’ultima affronta problemi di migrazione, nostalgia e stereotipi culturali legati al cibo, “The Feast” si focalizza sul fascino dell’autentica esperienza culinaria in Taiwan.

The Insatiable è formato da una dozzina di filmati girati in un mercato notturno.

La strateglia visiva adotta una fusione di prospettive micro e macroscopiche. I semafori e i pedoni sono trasformati in corpi di creature enormi, somiglianti a serpenti, draghi o perfino a enormi intestini.

The Insatiable is part of a video series titled Feast and Metamorphosis, which was created during an artistic residency in my home country Taiwan. It is my first body of work produced there after 16 years of living abroad. It echoes the theme of my video series, Things that are edible, in 2002. While the Edible addresses food related issues of migration, nostalgia, and cultural stereotype, The Feast focuses on the fascination about the authentic food experiences in Taiwan.

The Insatiable is composited from a dozen footages filmed at an open night market. The visual strategy adopts a fusion of microscopic and macroscopic perspectives.

The streetlights and mingling walkers are transformed into bodies of massive creatures, bearing resemblance to snakes, dragons, or even huge intestines.

ENTRO(SCO)PY MARIE- FRANCE GIRAUDON “entro(SCO)py” è una video-esperienza all’interno di un ghiacciaio colpito dal riscaldamento globale. Così come fa una camera endoscopica per sondare gli organi umani, il corpo-videocamera si infiltra in posti solitamente inaccessibili all’uomo e indeboliti dallo scioglimento dei ghiacci. Il video rievoca sia una sfida fisica che un’esperienza immaginaria di ricostruzione. I suoi risultati inaspettati espandono il raggio di questo viaggio metaforico, offrendo allo spettatore di reinterpretare il lavoro dalla prospettiva dell’ecologia.

“entro(SCO)py” is a video-experience in the depths of a glacier affected by global warming. In the manner of an endoscopic camera probing human organs, the camera-body seeps where man usually has no place, in inaccessible places and weakened by melting. The video evokes both a physical challenge and a reconstructed imaginary experience. His unexpected result broadens the scope of this metaphorical journey, offering the viewer to reinterpret the work from the perspective of ecology.

SOLASTALGIA ISABELLE HAYEUR La solastalgia è un concetto creato dal filosofo ambientalista Glenn Albrecht per definire la sensazione di disagio legata agli sconvolgimenti e ai cambiamenti che viviamo al giorno d’oggi. E’ la nostalgia di casa che possiamo provare quando siamo ancora a casa, ma l’ambiente che ci circonda è diventato un estraneo. Oggigiorno, questo stato di perdita dell’orientamento sembra venire generalizzato sotto la pressione dello sviluppo amplificato. Nell’era dell’Antropocene, in cui subiamo l’influenza della crescente popolazione mondiale, del cambiamento climatico e della trasformazione dei nostri ecosistemi, questa potrebbe essere una forma di latente sofferenza che perseguita tutti noi.

Solastalgia is a concept created by environmental philosopher Glenn Albrecht to define a feeling of unease tied to the upheavals and mutations we are experiencing today. It is the homesickness we may feel when we are still at home, but our familiar surroundings have grown strange to us. Nowadays, this state of loss of bearings seems to become generalized under the pressure of heightened development. In the Anthropocene Era, affected as we are by the rising world population, climate change, and the transformation of our ecosystems, this may be a form of latent distress that haunts us all.

Un lungo percorso di riconciliazione in un mondo post-industriale devastato. Quando i neuroni del cervello umano si confondono e si rompono, il mondo è pieno di rifiuti industriali e dell’interminabile rumore delle macchine delle fabbriche. Un’anormale corrente elettrica controlla ancora il corpo umano, che noi chiamiamo Zombie in quanto hanno l’istinto di muoversi ma non di pensare.

Mentre il tempo passa, l’unico paio di sinopsi viene attivato in una libreria polverosa.

All’improvviso si sente della musica jazz. Quando i neurotrasmettitori si diffondono nell’aria come virus, gli zombie si svegliano con una sete di sangue come quella degli squali e il loro cervello riacquista gradualmente energia. Gli zombie inavvertitamente raccolgono il libro da terra, curiosi riguardo ogni cosa, incluso il tenue profumo di fiori che entra nel loro naso.

A long path of “reconnection” in a post-industrial devastated world. When human brain neurons totally confused and rupture, the world is full of industrial waste and the endless noise of factory machine.

Abnormal electrical current still controls the human body, which we call ZOMBIE as they have an instinct to move but not think.

As time passed, the only pair of synapse is activated in a dusty library. Some jazz suddenly appears.

When neurotransmitters generally spread in the air such as viruses, zombies wake up with shark-like bloodthirsty to jazz, their brain gradually restore full energy.

Zombies inadvertently pick up the book on the ground, curious about everything, including the faint floral scent incoming their nose.

They think of something in the pass? Or in the future?

DECADENCE PENG HSIAO-YIN Tutti i lavori di Dancecology prendono in considerazione le relazioni tra l’uomo e l’ambiente. In “Decadence”, un uomo comune vive in una piccola stanza con i rifiuti di plastica che ha generato. Venire prodotte, usate, schiacciate, gettate e poi riciclate è il ciclo vitale delle bottiglie di plastica. Questo ciclo continua a riempire e svuotare l’uomo e le sue bottiglie, come una marea.

Come riciclare e venire riciclati? E’ un quesito eterno.

All Dancecology’s works are considering the relationship between human and the environment. In Decadence, a normal man like everyone lives with the plastic garbage he generated in small room. Been produced, used, squashed, disposed (and recycled) is the life cycle we give to the plastic bottles. This cycle keep fulfill and empty the man and his bottles, like irresistible tides. How to recycle and be recycled? It’s an eternal question.

A JOURNEY TO MIRRAMU TSENG HUAN-SHIN Questo è un documentario sul giovane coreografo Peng HsiaoYin che nel 2012 si reca al Mirramu Creative Art Centre (Canberra, Australia) con il suo team “Dancecology”. Grazie alla borsa di studio Lo Man-Fei, parteciparono ad uno scambio culturale per un mese, occupandosi della creazione di attività artistiche e partecipando anche ad un grande evento per il solstizio d’estate. “Venendo a conoscenza della mia formazione in agronomia, nel 2006 Elizabeth Dalman* mi attribuì due sostantivi “Dance” (danza) ed “Ecology” (ecologia). Era il nostro primo incontro in tre settimane di corso presso la National University of the Arts di Taipei, ma fu un grande stimolo per la mia mente e cambiò la mia vita.”

This is a documentary about a young choreographer Peng Hsiao-Yin going to Mirramu Creative Art Centre (Canberra, Australia) with her team “Dancecology” in 2012. In support of Lo Man-fei Dance Fund scholarship, they did one month of residency in cultural exchanges and art creation activities, including participating of a big event “Summer Solstice” festival.

“Learning my agronomy background, Elizabeth Dalman* gave me two words “Dance” and “Ecology” in 2006. It’s the firstmeet with Elizabeth in just three weeks of creative course in

Taipei National University of the Arts, but greatly stimulated my mind and changed my life.”

Il viaggio è una parte importante della vita contemporanea. Non importa quale sia il motivo del viaggio, tutti noi prima o poi incontriamo delle culture diverse. Lo shock culturale è inevitabile, ma gli stereotipi culturali hanno un grande impatto sulla nostra comprensione e percezione delle somiglianze e differenze culturali. Sotto le travolgenti manipolazioni dei mass media e dei meccanismi commerciali il cosiddetto “Turismo Culturale” è stato pubblicizzato con le idee di grandi avventure che celano l’essenza della cultura che include tutte le vite. Lo scopo del “Grand Tour” nella società occidentale è di coltivare l’intelletto esplorando e vivendo in una realtà nuova per un lungo periodo e ad un livello profondo. Il “Flâneur” di Charles Baudelaire considera l’intera città come un libro da leggere scrupolosamente, in modo da percepire i ritmi della vita contemporanea, e catturare l’effimero nella vita quotidiana sulla strada. I Surrealisti elogiavano la capacità del “Flâneur” di trovare del magico nella vita di tutti i giorni e trarre ispirazione dalle culture esotiche. Il processo percettivo dell’incontro fra culture è troppo intimo per poterne parlare in maniera razionale. Nelle loro opere d’arte, gli spettatori potrebbero percepire significati culturali alternativi, per poter ribaltare gli stereotipi fissati da questo mondo commercializzato, incontrando così le culture diverse con sensibilità.

Travel has been a part of contemporary life. No matter what the travel is for, we all meet multiple cultures. Cultural shock is inevitable, but cultural stereotype will give great impacts on the understandings and the perceptions of cultural similarities and differences.

Under the overwhelming manipulations of mass media and commercial mechanism, the so-called “ Cultural Tourism” has been promoted with the ideas of pilgrims and adventures, which conceals the essence of the culture that includes all the lives. The notion “Grand Tour” in the Western civilization is to cultivate the intelligentsia to explore and experience the outer world for a long-term period and in a deeper level. Charles Baudelaire ‘s “Flâneur” regards a whole city as a book to read thoroughly, to perceive the rhythms of contemporary life, to capture the ephemerality of everyday life on streets. The Surrealists praises the spirit of “Flâneur” to discover the uncanny from everyday life and to get inspirations from exotic cultures. The perceptive process of cultural encounters is too intimate to make any rational discourse. Artists instill their own life experiences into this process of cultural encounters. In their artworks, viewers may perceive alternative cultural understandings, to overturn the cultural stereotypes given by this commercialized world, to encounter multiple cultures with sensibility.

2010 ARCTIC DIARY: THE WRONG ICE TSENG HUAN-SHIN Quest’opera venne realizzata nel 2009 per un programma di ricerca nel Circolo Artico organizzato dalla U.S. Farm Foundation for the Arts & Sciences (FFAS). Il film fu girato a Spitzbergen, in Norvegia e a Taipei, in Taiwan.

Tsui Kuang-Yu si chiede che cosa possa scoprire in queste condizioni estreme e se possa o meno svelare il “sistema invisibile” in questo ambiente. Per lui, è effimero ed impalpabile quanto gli organismi che vivono nel clima artico.

This work was produced for the 2009 Arctic Circle expeditionary residency program organized by the U.S. Farm Foundation for the Arts & Sciences (FFAS). The film was shot on location in Spitzbergen, Norway and in Taipei, Taiwan.

Tsui Kuang-Yu wonders just what he can discover in these extreme and alien conditions, and whether or not he can uncover the “invisible system” within this environment. For him, it is as fleeting and impalpable as the living organisms in the arctic climate.

INVISIBLE CITY: TAIPARIS YORK TSUI KUANG-YU

Questo lavoro è una continuazione della serie Invisible City sviluppata nel 2006. Reindirizzando lo sguardo verso il suo paese natale, Tsui Kuang-Yu tenta di trovare delle possibilità per trasformare la realtà del Taiwan, un paese che fonde diverse culture. In un certo senso la trasformazione è già avvenuta sottoforma di attrazioni turistiche da fotografare. Mettendo in scena queste performance ingannevoli, l’artista cerca di mettere in discussione l’associazione tra l’esistenza di questi posti esotici e l’ambiente che abitiamo, trovando un compromesso tra la realtà e le speranze e i desideri che la gente nutre per tutto ciò che è esotico. Forse il maggior beneficio che offrono questi luoghi è la possibilità per noi di fare foto e sfruttare la loro fama per farne qualcosa. Invece di diminuire la distanza fra il Taiwan e altri paesi, questi simboli trapiantati hanno creato una distanza ancora maggiore. Esistono in uno stato fluttuante a vacuo, privi di qualsiasi significato profondo. La discordanza tra questa fatua bolla e l’ambiente reale è senza ritegni, da ogni punto di vista.

This work is a continuation of the Invisible City series developed in 2006. Redirecting his focus to his home country, Tsui Kuang-Yu attempts to find possibilities to transform the reality in Taiwan, a country that melds different cultures. In a way the transformation has already taken place in the form of photogenic tourist attractions. By staging these deceptive performances, the artist attempts to question the association between the existence of these exotic sites and the environment we inhabit while bridging the reality and the hopes and yearnings people harbour for exoticism. Perhaps the biggest benefit that these sites offer is a chance for us to take photographs or take advantage of their fame to do something.

Contrary to conveniently closing the distance between Taiwan and other countries, these transplanted symbols have in fact created a gap far greater than assumed. They exist in a floating, vacuous state, lacking any meaningful clue. The discord between this vacuous bubble and the actual environment is blatant from every perspective.

Lost in Underworld was realized during the 6 months artist residency as a reflection of the artist Chou Tung-Yen’s life experience in Paris, as he quotes from Italo Calvino’s “Invisible Cities”: “Elsewhere is a negative mirror. The traveler recognizes the little that is his, discovering the much he has not had and will never have.”

IDENTITY CORRELATION HUANG YU-HANG Ho usato la fotografia e il video per documentare il processo in cui indossai diverse sculture in diversi luoghi, cercando un posto in cui sentirmi a mio agio.

Queste sculture indossabili sono fatte di schiuma e riprendono gli stili di diversi tipi di case, inclusi quella cinese, quella moderna, quella di campagna e anche un museo d’arte.

Rappresentano la mia identità in contesti diversi a hanno anche funto da riparo personale per preservare la mia cultura.

Questo progetto suggerisce il continuo processo di trasformazione di noi stessi per diventare parte di ciò che ci circonda.

I used photographs and the video to document the process in which I wore various sculptures in different locations and searched for a place to fit in.

These wearable sculptures are made with foam and in various styles of houses including Chinese, modern, country as well as art museum.

They represented my identities in different contexts and also served as personal shelters to preserve my culture. This project suggests the ongoing process of transforming oneself to become part of surroundings.

THAT VOICE WANG YA-HUI

Quando mi trovavo in Finlandia per la mia residenza artistica a Helsinki, ho incontrato due artisti che avevano appena creato degli studi per artisti nel cento della Finlandia.

Quello che mi interessava era che la casa era circondata dalla foresta vergine della Finlandia. Al tempo, stavo preparando un progetto video riguardo u pupazzo di neve che canta una canzone taiwanese. Decisi di andare lì e realizzare questo progetto.

Questo lavoro è legato ad un altro lavoro che ho realizzato in Taiwan. “A tropical work: snowman” parla di un pupazzo di neve fatto di ghiaccio. Volevo mettere assieme la contraddizione tra conoscenza e sensazione. Quindi, mi piacerebbe sviluppare un altro lavoro in Finlandia usando l’iconico pupazzo di neve. Sono affascinata dalla lingua finlandese, così inconsueta e così affascinante. Questa esperienza mi ha dato l’ispirazione per lavorare con il linguaggio, e l’ambientazione di questo video è stats ispirata da un libro per bambini “Moomintroll”.

When I was in Finland for my artist residency program in Helsinki , I met two artists who just founded artist studios in the central Finland. What interested me is that the house is surrounded by the virgin forest of Finland. At that time, I was preparing a video project which is about a snowman singing a Taiwanese song. I decided to go there and do this project. This work is related to another work I made in Taiwan “ A tropical work: snowman”, it is about a documentary of a snowman made from shaved ice. I want to put together the contradiction of sensation and knowledge. Therefore, I would like to develop another work in Finland using the icon ”snowman”. In Finland, I am fascinated by its language, so unfamiliar and so charming, and it comes from this land. This ex-

perience inspired me to work with language, and the setting in this video came from a famous children’s book “Moomintroll”.

TOUGH TOWN CHANG HUEI-MING Nel 2015 sono stato alla distilleria Glenfiddich in Scozia per un progetto. Oltre a continuare l’esperimento sull’immagine, ho girato un video, Tough Town, basato sulla distilleria, le foreste delle Highland e il ballo scozzese. Ho invitato gli studenti di una scuola di ballo locale ad unirsi al film. I piccoli danzatori dai 4 ai 12 anni danzarono in maniera appassionata, in contrasto con l’enorme e fredda area della distilleria. Mostrò anche l’imbattibile spirito della Scozia. Mi ricorderò sempre di quel momento.

Vorrei dire che l’umile essere umano ha bisogno di affrontare la natura e il nostro piccolo io, questo è ciò che ho imparato durante il progetto

In 2015, I went to the Glenfiddich distillery in Scotland for a residency program. Besides continuing the experiment on the image, I recorded a short film, “Tough Town”, based on the distillery, highland forests, and Scottish dance. I invited students from a local dance school to join the film. The 4-12 year-old little dancers danced passionately, which formed a strong contrast to the huge and cold distillery area. It also showed the undefeatable spirit of Scotland. I still remember that time. Three months was not too long that I had been briefly introduced to the Scotch culture. I would say the humbleness human needs to face nature and our tiny selves, were the parts worth being shared in this Artist-in-Residency journey.

MEASURING DISTANCE BETWEEN THE SELF AND OTHERS CHEN I-CHUN Quando arrivo in un paese straniero, trovo difficile tradurre ciò che voglio realmente dire, solo il mio corpo riesce a percepire tutto. Ho scoperto che la mia percezione corporea può estendersi finché sono in grado di riacquistare le mie capacità comunicative anche senza conoscere la lingua. Arrivai a san paolo allo stile di vita del Taiwan, la diversità di San paolo invade la mia percezione di tutto ciò che vedo. Sembra di essere in un videogioco e io devo trovare il coraggio di affrontare la realtà anche se tutto mi è estraneo.

While entering a strange country, I found lost in translation, nothing but my body to perceive everything there. I found my body perception can be expanded so that I gradually regain my communicative ability without knowing the foreign language. I arrived in São Paulo alone for the sake of my exhibition without preparing myself well. Differing from the lifestyle in Taiwan, the strangeness from São Paulo invades my perception to enlarge everything I see. It implies that I enter into a video game world, and I have to encourage myself to face it even everything is strange to me.

WORLD’S ODDS AND WORLD’S ENDS WU TZU-AN Questo video è un esperimento etnografico riguardo i turisti. Wu documenta le attività turistiche nella città medievale di Cesky Krumlov in Repubblica Ceca. Usa foto in time-lapse per catturare la ripetizione dei percorsi, delle azioni e anche delle facce.

L’alchimia è la metafora della loro dinamica psichica, una disperata ricerca di libertà nelle piccole cose, alla fine del mondo.

This video is an experimental ethnography about tourists.

Wu doucuments the touristic activities in the medieval town Cesky Krumlov of Czech Republic. He uses time-lapse photo to capture the repetition of the paths, the action, and the faces. The alchemy is the metaphor of their psycho-dynamic, a doomed quest of the freedom in the odds and ends, in the end of the world.

La mia creazione a lungo termine è pensare le immagini del nostro io interiore come l’asse del mio video. Qui e lì questa intenzione creativa si espande; la libera associazione della mia arte sta vorticando intensamente nella mia coscienza.

When I arrive in Egon Schiele Art Center for residency, the internet speed here goes so slowly that the tempo of life is extremely different. My longterm creation is to think about the images of inner self as the axis of my videos. Here and now this creative intention expands itself; the free association found in my art is swirling fiercely in my consciousness.

LOOKING FOR SIRAYA CHENG LI-MING Nel 1971, il fotografo scozzese John Thompson venne a Formosa e scattò una serie di immagini che diventarono il primo sevizio fotografico su Formosa pubblicato in Occidente. Uno dei più famosi ritratti mostra una misteriosa madre aborigena che tiene in braccio un bambino a Muhza. Questa foto fu scattata con una fotocamera 3D, il suo aspetto doppio simile ad una porta ha portato il gruppo a fare una ricerca sulla nostra madrepatria e sui nostri antenati.

In 1871, John Thompson the Scottish photographer came to Formosa, and shot a series of images, which became the first, widely published set of photos of Formosa in the West. One of the most famous portraits displays a mysterious, aboriginal mother holding a baby in Muzha. This photo was shot with a 3D camera, its door-like double images lead the crew to the pursuit of the history about our motherland and ancestors.

KORA JAWSHING ARTHUR LIOU, AARON TRAVERS & MELODY EÖTVÖS Il mio desiderio di filmare questo paesaggio mistico in Tibet, precede la mia conoscenza dell’esistenza della montagna stessa. Nell’estate del 2007, ero in lutto per la scomparsa di mia figlia. Tutte le mie certezze erano andate in frantumi e, annegando nel dolore, cercai conforto spirituale nel Buddismo.

Un giorno, mi imbattei in un album della cantante tibetano buddista Kelsang Chukie Tethong. Fui immediatamente ammaliata dalla sua voce – un suono così sereno e luminoso, mi costrinse a chiudere gli occhi. In quel momento, una visione si dischiuse nella mia mente; una vivida immagine delle pianure accarezzate dal vento e un profondo cielo blu. Più tardi un monaco tibetano mi mostrò una foto del Monte Kailash. Seppi immediatamente che il viaggio verso la montagna sacra del Tibet sarebbe diventato per me l’obiettivo più importante degli anni a venire.

Nell’estate del 2011, mi imbarcai in una spedizione di quattro settimane nel Tibet occidentale, inclusa una kora (pellegrinaggio) di quattro giorni attorno a Kailash. La montagna sembra perfetta e la sua forma volontaria oltre ogni aspetto naturale. My desire to film this mystical landscape in Tibet preceded my knowledge of the existence of the mountain itself. In the summer of 2007, I was mourning the loss of my daughter. My bearings shattered and drowning in sorrow, I sought spiritual sanctuary in Buddhism.

One day, I came across an album by Tibetan Buddhist singer Kelsang Chukie Tethong. I was immediately captured by her voice a sound so serene and bright it compelled me to close my eyes. At that moment, a vision unfolded in my mind; one with the vivid image of wind-swept plains, a deep blue sky, and distant snowcaps. Later I was shown an image of Mount Kailash by a Tibetan monk. I knew immediately the journey to Tibet’s sacred mountain would be the most important task for me in the coming years.

In the summer of 2011, I embarked on a four-week expedition to western Tibet, including a four-day kora around Kailash. The mountain seems perfect and its shape, deliberate beyond any natural thing. Such form inherently points to a higher reality—a realm that predates the existence of language and religions.

The harsh elements and expansive landscape turned my thoughts inward. There was no immediate enlightenment, but gradual realization—that the pilgrimage is an external mirror to my solemn confrontation with past and future. The kora, as a circle, has no beginning or end.

This selection of six videos highlights some of the key elements in the vocabulary of Chantal duPont, which she has developed since the early 1970s. A major figure in video and media arts in Quebec and Canada, the artist has explored the image, observation technologies and the notion of territory for nearly forty years. This research has led to works that combine a contemplation of daily life, self-representation, intimacy, sensuality, and the erosion of spaces and memories.

Chantal duPont’s purview embraces bodies, landscapes, words, encounters, memories, ordeals, discoveries.

Her gaze is curious, generous, mobile, nomadic.

Time passes, boundaries move. Bodies, relationships, recollections are transformed. For this artist, the image is a space with inexhaustible potential, pervaded by revelations, confidences, experiences that are constantly renewed.

Il corpo della regista è mascherato e la sua testa viene trasformata attraverso oggetti, piante e movimenti del corpo che offuscano le certezze dell’identità. Costretta ad affrontare la malattia, le piccole vittorie dell’infanzia l’aiutano a scoprire uno spazio da conquistare, uno spazio proiettato verso il futuro. Nevicano stelle nella sua testa.

This video diary, filmed from May 4,1999 to February 1, 2000, consists of a series of self-portraits of a head in various states. The videomaker’s body is subjected to masquerade and her head is transformed through objects, plants, and body movements that blur the certainties of identity. Faced with illness, the small victories of her childhood help her discover a space to conquer—one that is projected into the future. It’s snowing stars in her head.

Per l’autrice, questo passaggio riattiva le immagini del suo corpo all’interno del suo spazio vitale attraverso un’esperienza interiore del tempo.

In Balinese, “Pemesu” means “entry”. Entering in an other culture, is like entering in ourselves. For the author, this passage reactivates images of her body into her living space through an inner experience of time.

Growing old together. A couple, alone with each other during the ritual of bathing, the poetry of small daily gestures. The seasons go by. The body recalls its first shivers. Memory at the lightest touch.

Le sue sculture sono “ un fluire di emozioni che si raggiungono vedendole, toccandole ed anche attraverso il profumo del legno” “La vera essenza delle sculture di Toni si può percepire quando la mano scorre sulle curve e si ritrova a percorrere sentieri inaspettati dove dietro ogni curva si cela un mistero piacevole da scoprire. Linee essenziali ed armoniose sembrano plasmate dagli elementi naturali: la pioggia, il vento, lo scorrere dell’acqua. E per sottolineare questo contatto, Toni ha messo alcune sculture sul letto del fiume Brenta, che collega le Alpi con Venezia, e ha osservato lo scorrere dell’acqua su di loro. Per questa morbidezza, attraverso l’opera si entra a contatto diretto con la natura e si ripercorrono le emozioni che ciascuno di noi prova davanti ad un albero. Ogni essenza è diversa e trasmette maestosità, forza o flessibilità che si ritrova negli alberi e nelle vicissitudini della vita. MONIA PERISSINOTTO TOKIO NIGHTS Nata a San Donà di Piave (VE), esercita la professione di odontoiatra dal 1995. Si avvicina alla fotografia nel 2009 per esigenze lavorative, frequentando un corso di fotografia digitale odontoiatrica, e da quel momento nasce il suo interesse nei confronti di questa forma espressiva. Il suo percorso è attualmente focalizzato sull’autoritratto e sulla fotografia documentaria personale e introspettiva, e per approfondire tale ricerca frequenta workshops con Antoine D’Agata, Michael Ackerman, Anders Petersen e Lorenzo Castore.

Ha partecipato come autrice all’edizione 2013 di “Dia Sotto le Stelle”, Festival Internazionale di Arti Audiovisive che si tiene annualmente a Busto Arsizio (VA).

I suoi lavori sono stati premiati alle letture portfolio tenutesi presso la Casa dei Tre Oci a Venezia nel 2014 e nel 2015. Ha inoltre vinto la lettura portfolio al SI Fest Savignano Immagini Festival nel 2014. Ha presentato i suoi lavori in diverse mostre personali e collettive, presso spazi espositivi tra i quali la Casa dei Tre Oci a Venezia e il Centro Italiano della Fotografia d’Autore di Bibbiena.

Monia Perissinotto was born in San Donà di Piave (Venice) and she has been working as a dentist since 1995. In 2009 she attended a class of digital dental photography, discovering her interest for this form of art. Her work is currently focused mainly on self-portraits and documentary photography from a personal and introspective point of view. In order to enhance her research on this topics she has attended a seires of workshops with Antoine D’Agata, Michael Ackerman, Anders Petersen and Lorenzo Castore. She took part in the 2013 edition of “Dia Sotto le Stelle”, International Festival of Audiovisual Arts taking place every year in Busto Arsizio (VA). Her portfolio has been awarded by Casa dei Tre Oci in Venice in 2014 and 2015. She also won the portfolio award at SI Fest Savignano Immagini Festival in 2014. She has displayed her photos in several solo and collective exhibitions, in exhibition spaces such as Casa dei Tre Oci in Venice and the Italian Centre of Photography of Author (CIFA) in Bibbiena.

ATTILIO, L’ASOLANO ERRANTE OMAGGIO AD ATTILIO ZAMPERONI Questo libro è un tributo della gente di Goiana per Attilio Zamperoni per suo sguardo amoroso verso l’arte e cultura dello stato di Goias, Brasile.

Questo libro è diviso in due parti.

La prima parte sono poeti scelti da Attilio per essere onorati durante il Festival: Leodegária de Jesus e Anatole Ramos.

La seconda parte sono poeti contemporanei, rappresentati della poesia di Goiana. Claudia Machado, Elizabeth Caldeira e Rosy Cardoso. Questi poeti omageranno questo Asolano Errante che ha attraversato l’Atlantico ed ha conquistato un posto di rilievo nello stato di Goiás.

La presentazione del libro avverrà nel corso del 35° Art Film Festival ad Asolo in settembre 2016.

This book is a tribute by Goiania people to Attilio Zamperoni for his love towards the art and culture of the State of Goiás, Brazil.

The book is diveded into two parts.

The first part is a dedicated to two poets picked by Attilio himself to be honoured during the Festival: Leodegária de Jesus and Anatole Ramos.

The second part is dedicated to contemporary poets from Goiania: Claudia Machado, Elizabeth Caldeira and Rosy Cardoso. They will pay homage to Attilio, “The Wanderer of Asolo”, who crossed the Atlantic and gained a prominent role in the State of Goiás.

Fiorenti attività artigianali si sono da sempre sviluppate, tramandando stili e tecniche; molte anche le imprese operanti nell’asolano che sono conosciute in tutto il mondo. Ecco perché la città di Asolo possiede quelle potenzialità attrattive e funzionali per accogliere promuovere il progetto BRICS Art Asolo, che, con le sue varie discipline dal cinema alla musica, dalla poesia alla pittura, dalla danza alla fotografia, sia il luogo dove vivere, assaporare e trarre ispirazione. Ed Asolo è il luogo ideale per diventare il catalizzatore di idee, dove il tempo scorre con i ritmi propri, dove passato, presente e futuro si fondono in un’unica dimensione. In questa edizione del Festival, la sezione BRICSArt sarà dedicata all’Arte della Poesia: le letture delle opere di famosi poeti brasiliani, russi, indiani, cinesi e italiani riempiranno le vie e i luoghi più significativi di Asolo.

“In that part of the vicious Italian land which lays between Rialto and the founts of Brenta and Piave” (Dante, Paradiso IX 25-27) stands the town of Asolo: located on gentle hills, it vaunts an extraordinarily rich heritage of history, art and suggestive residences chosen by famous national and international personalities.

Thriving handicraft activities have always been developed, handing down styles and techniques; many companies operating in the Asolo area are also known worldwide. That’s why the city has the attractive and functional potential to host and promote the BRICSArt project. Asolo, that, with its various disciplines, from cinema to music, from poetry to painting, dance and photography, becomes the place to live, to taste and be inspired. Asolo it’s also the ideal place to become a catalyst for ideas, where time flows with rhythms of its own, where past, present and future merge in a single dimension.

In this edition of the Festival, the BRICSArt section will be dedicated to the Art of Poetry: readings of the works of famous Brazilian, Russian, Indian, Chinese and Italian poets will fill the streets and the most significant places of Asolo.
