About the School

At The Abbey Senior School, our team of dedicated experts is here to nurture, inspire and support you and your daughter at every step of the way. From the moment she arrives through our doors, we want your daughter to feel at home, making the transition from junior to senior school as comforting as it is stimulating and wondrous As a world-leading International Baccalaureate school, our ethos is one of inclusivity and care, both for each other and the world around us

Here, academic achievement is not the destination; the journey is the most important part So, although our students achieve outstanding academic results, this is a consequence of our focus on building happy, free-thinking, confident learners throughout every aspect of school life – and beyond

We encourage pupils to take ownership of their learning, fostering independence and growing their self-awareness. We know that this equips them to be prepared to move on successfully to senior school, to university, and to take up roles in a wide variety of careers

We seek to provide a ‘real-world’ education that goes outside the classroom to offer a myriad of opportunities for students to explore, identify and cultivate their passions Far from being a blank canvas, every individual arrives with a rich palette of her own unique colours – and we encourage her to embrace them in all their glory Our exceptional co-curricular provision sets us apart: whatever your daughter’s enthusiasm, there will be an activity just right for her and lots of new things to try.

About the School

Abingdon is a leading independent day and boarding school for boys aged 11-18, with full and weekly boarding available from age 13 At Abingdon we aim to teach and develop the resources, skills and resilience that students need to feel confident in embracing their future We encourage students to seize opportunities and to appreciate their responsibilities to each other and to society as a whole The School promotes a culture of mutual respect and equality and we celebrate diversity.

Abingdon enjoys the very best in academic standards, music, sport and the arts in a caring and supportive environment where students are motivated to succeed The health and wellbeing of our pupils is paramount and the School has a comprehensive pastoral care system centred around a pupil’s tutor and housemaster. We are one of only a few schools to have physical houserooms for both day pupils and boarders, so there is lots of space for students to be able to relax and unwind

Equally, we are proud of the fact that although we are a big school, the pastoral care breaks down into small units, with tutor groups of between 10 and 12 pupils per member of staff, so that every child is known and cared for The school combines over 750 years of history and tradition with a modern outlook As well as encouraging academic achievement, with impressive results at GCSE, A Level and Russell Group and other leading universities, Abingdon provides extensive extracurricular opportunities which broaden horizons, promote a global outlook and build the skills needed for the workplace. We encourage pupils to try something new, to develop existing talents and to ‘give something back’

Our aim is to ensure each individual thrives at Abingdon and, through challenge and opportunity, achieves the most from their potential. Our pupils come from a wide range of social and geographic backgrounds, creating a lively and tolerant mix of cultures and we welcome students of all faiths

About the School

This is a place where pupils are encouraged to be the very best they can be and each individual is a truly valued member of our community We offer the perfect conditions to thrive where we focus on offering opportunity, developing self-confidence and the motivation to go beyond where students think is possible.

Learning does not just take place in the classroom, we schedule time during the school day for co-curricular activities to stretch the mind and enhance learning. These opportunities could be in our Forest School, on the river or lake or simply time away from the traditional classroom outside in the grounds Our break times are structured regularly throughout the day to ensure our students have time to make friends, socialise and have some downtime; such an important but sometimes overlooked aspect of school life We celebrate, and value, individual and combined success and we see this demonstrated in our fantastic academic results as well as on the sports fields or outside the school environment

A visit to the school is the best way to experience everything that Claires Court has to offer your child and we would be delighted to warmly welcome you and your family to see our remarkable school for yourselves

** Support for those who learn differently is offered through The Hub, situated at the heart of the school, housing our dedicated Junior and Senior School SENCOs, as well as a team of specialist teachers and teaching assistants. If concerns are raised about a child, we follow a graduated response with support offered first and foremost in the form of adapted teaching within mainstream lessons. Where a child needs more specialist intervention, a range of small groups are on offer. At Crosfields we are able to undertake various cognitive assessments to better inform our support and these, as well as the interventions themselves, are included in our fees.

About the School

We are a school where every child is valued as an individual, where strengths are celebrated and used to support growth of academic, social and emotional development in equal measure. Our youngest children are encouraged to enjoy their childhood and not rush to enter the adult world, yet from an early age, they demonstrate a maturity beyond their years, a compassion for others and a kindness which extends throughout their time with us and beyond.

We are aspirational for our young people and innovative in how we maximise their potential We aim to inspire achievement beyond expectation within an environment where every child can succeed.

We have a diverse range of students in the school and our goal is for each one to feel valued, believe in themselves, like and respect themselves and others and leave us as confident individuals who will make a positive contribution to society. We ‘go the extra mile’ and our pupils do too

In the words of our Y11 student, Head of School 2021 – “we are much more than an educational establishment – we are a farm, we are a laboratory filled with budding scientists, we are the next generation of Michelin star chefs, the Steve Jobs, Shakespeares, Monet, Flemings just waiting to get out there and find their place in the world Others thrive but at Holme Grange we soar”

We take the time to know our pupils and take pride in the fact that visitors to our school comment that we are ‘a school with a soul’ Our values, policies and aims are more than words on a piece of paper – they are lived every day in the lives of all who attend.

The World Economic Forum has identified the ten biggest global challenges facing humanity, including Climate Change, Food Security, the 4th Industrial Revolution and Gender Equality They also identify the top skills that people will need in 2025, including analytical thinking and innovation, complex problem solving and, rather bleakly, resilience, stress tolerance and flexibility.

Analysis like this shaped Leighton Park’s future-thinking vision: We exist to form students of real character and confidence, with a determined desire to change the world.

This focus doesn’t come at the expense of a strong, well-balanced education Leighton Park combines the best academic progress in Berkshire with award-winning personal development and sector-leading pastoral care. Head, Matthew LS Judd explains: “We don’t try to be like other schools Our starting point is to nurture each young person to really think about who they are and what they want to achieve. From there we do everything we can to support them to succeed as themselves - true to who they are and all the more remarkable for it ”

To discover how this unique approach led to Leighton Park winning the ISA’s Independent Senior School of the Year Award 2023-24 and being Finalists for the same accolade in the prestigious TES School Awards, come to one of our open days Book now at www leightonpark com/imagine-better

About the School

Pipers is a leading independent day school for girls aged 4-18, with a mission to provide an inspiring environment in which each student is encouraged to discover themself and maximise their potential

We believe that education is about the development of the whole person - and stretches far beyond the traditional curriculum Alongside an innovative and stimulating academic learning environment, we also encourage our girls to cultivate their sporting or creative talents through a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities Students are taught there is no direct linear path to success and that inner-resolve, intellectual risk taking and a growth mindset are essential life skills that will enable them to flourish in a wider imperfect world

We are committed to small class sizes in all year groups, which ensure individual attention as girls are encouraged to be active rather than passive learners Our inspiring staff utilise exceptional and flexible approaches to learning in order to stretch students’ intellectual curiosity and challenge them to exceed their own expectations.

Above all this is a school of individuals - there is no typical "Pipers" student We support the students in a caring and compassionate environment, to fulfil their academic and personal potential, enabling them to emerge as mature, confident and independent young people

Admissions | The offer of a place at Pipers is subject to demonstrating a good-average ability level at assessment, a positive interview and a satisfactory reference. Offers are always made in order of registration date, so early registration is advised.

** Individual Learning Department, headed up by an Educational Psychologist and qualified teacher. Our Individual Learning Department is accredited by CReSTeD (The Council for the Registration of Schools teaching Dyslexic students) offering advice to students, parents and teachers alongside individual, group and class provision.

About the School

At Borlase, our ethos is encapsulated in the school’s motto te digna sequere, which translates as “follow things worthy of you” - a challenge to go and do good in the world. The focus for students joining Borlase in Year 7 is participation. While the move to secondary school can be daunting, it also brings academic, sporting and cultural opportunities with it. Before choosing their GCSE options at the end of Year 8, all students have one hour Art, Dance, Drama, Music and Technology lessons each week, developing their confidence and creativity complementing what some might see as more traditional subjects. All students study French in Year 7 before being introduced to either German or Spanish in Year 8 and taking a modern foreign language at GCSE is compulsory for all students. Outside of the classroom, Borlase students enjoy a huge range of sporting activities over the year including athletics, cricket, football, gymnastics, hockey, netball, rowing, rugby and tennis. During break and lunch times there are close to 40 different student- and staff-run clubs, choirs, orchestras and societies including chess, debating, politics and film as well as sports practices - there really is something for everyone!

The school buildings are a wonderful mixture of the old and new. The school was founded in 1624. While the original building is still in use, it has been developed extensively over the last 400 years with beautiful courtyards, a library, a theatre, state of the art sports facilities and, most recently, a rebuilt Sixth Form study space.

The sense of community at Borlase is rooted in the house system. Each student is a member of either Britons, Danes, Normans, Romans, Saxons or Vikings house and there are frequent house competitions, fixtures and other activities which give every student the experience of representing their house and earning points which contribute towards the House Cup as well as giving a reason for older and younger years to mix together. We are a proudly diverse and inclusive school and truly believe that every student can find their own path to success with us.me to Sir William Borlase’s Grammar School where we are proud of our heritage as we approach our 400th birthday and excited to be inspiring and empowering the aspirations of our students today. A state-funded school in the centre of Marlow, Borlase is recognised for excellent academic learning and outstanding extra and super-curricular programme.
