What a super week we have had with the children all working so hard to bring together their amazing Reception Assembly Showcase at the end of the week. We were so proud of the learning superhero characteristics they all displayed; showing resilience ( and a big dose of bravery) as they performed in front of a large audience, all remembering their lines and songs and actions despite being the tender age of 4 or 5 years old; reflecting on their learning from the past few weeks and of course showing amazing collaborative skills as they worked as a team to put on a brilliant show! A huge thank you to all the parent volunteers and audience participation, you made it such a fun experience for all.

Of course Reception has, as always, been a hive of activity, our class caterpillars are causing lots of excitement particularly as some have now turned into cocoons and the children have been busy planting outside in our mini allotment caring for the plants as well as watching changes to the tadpoles in the pond and honing our clay, woodwork and drawing skills in our 'focus skills' sessions.

In our maths learning we have been exploring songs, stories and activities which support our learning on addition and in phonics the children have been learning to read and write a range of phase 4 words as well as developing their descriptive writing through the provocation of a curious picture every day!
