The children across the school are starting to have drama workshops that are led by Bev Veasey who teaches Drama across the whole school. The children are thoroughly enjoying these workshops, based around their themed book or stories they enjoy. Thank you to Ms Veasey for these sessions and welcome to our school. As you are aware over the past term, we have advertised for Mrs Pennels replacement. I am delighted to let you know that Mrs Pennels will be returning to school on Monday and is excited about working with the children. On Wednesday we had many Governors who visited the school to observe how we embed technology into our teaching. They visited many classes and saw children using Green Screens creating films, children using code to manipulate robots, children using QR codes to complete challenges in the classroom and using iPads to become authors, evening the children were editing the most wonderful giving a challenge to grow pieces of writing into bacteria and on Friday the commercial books. Railway Museum on Thursday and had a brilliant time learning about how steam trains work, mechanics and the notion of speed. The children and staff had a great time and there are photographs and a report later in the newsletter. It has been STEM week this week at St Peter’s 2-8. It started with a brilliant assembly led by Miss Murray who explained all the amazing activities that were happening throughout the week both in school and science challenges at home.
