TUESDAY
Today the Year 2 children visited Northwood Trail Fairy Sanctuary exploring their learning based on Alice in Wonderland. There was much excited chatter and news when I saw them arrive back to school this afternoon. Thank you to the Year 2 staff for organising and accompanying the children on this trip. On Tuesday next week we have the Valentine's Disco, organised and funded by the Friends of St Peter’s 2-8. This will take in the Sports Hall. Reception and Year 1 will party from 3.15pm to 4pm, when they will return to their classrooms, collect their bags and coats and be brought out to the playground for collection at 4.15pm by After School Care Staff. If needed, After School Care will be available as usual until 6pm. Years 2 and 3 will party from 4.15pm until 5pm, when they will be able to be collected from the Sports Hall by parents. If needed, After School Care will be available as usual until 6pm. There will be no After School Clubs for Reception and Year 1. (There will be no charge for Year 1 Football this week). After School Care and Year 2 STEM Club, Year 2 Multisports Club, Year 3 Language Club and Year 3 Tennis club will take place, as usual, from 3.20pm until 4.10pm. The children will then return to their classrooms, and then they will be taken to the Sports Hall by staff. I know the children are extremely excited about the disco and it promises to be a fun event. Have a lovely weekend,

MONDAY
As part of Children’s Mental Health week, each day we have focused on one of the five ways to wellbeing with different daily activities taking place in all three parts of the school. All the activities have been created by the staff and pupil wellbeing team and as you can see, we have had a wonderful week. On Monday to notice, we listened to Nimrod by Elgar. On Tuesday, to connect, the children made ‘Kindness Jars’; empty jars were decorated with love on the outside and filled with kindness messages. These were then delivered around the school by our Wellbeing Champions, for children to select a message to read. One of our favourite messages was ‘Kindness is spreading sunshine into peoples’ lives regardless of the weather.’ On Wednesday, to be active, the children were taught ‘Super mood movers’ by our Wellbeing Champions. They taught each class a movement activity which you can join here by following this link. https:// www.bbc.co.uk/teach/supermovers/pshesuper-mood-movers-wellbeing/zpxc3j6 On Thursday, to learn, the children memorised a poem, ‘Kind Hearts are the Gardens’ by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. Each class performed it and there a links to 2H and 1E here. On Friday, to give, the Wellbeing Champions sold wellbeing badges reading #TalkAwayNotWalkAway. It really has been a wonderful week and a wonderful opportunity to promote positive mental health and wellbeing in our school community. In Reception and Nursery, the children focused on their wellbeing; there were manicures, foot massages, spa treatments and hair salons to name a few. Jemima and Charlotte in Year 1 came into my office during a meeting and decided to give Mr Roberts and me a manicure and because they did such a wonderful job, Mr Walker popped into Year 1 over
