Pupil Voice Letter.

The pupil Voice Newsletter is a new school feature where volunteer ambassadors went out around the school reporting on different topics. This includes book recommendations, charities, upcoming trips and events, and more. his is how it turned out!

Trips and Events!

Venice/Barcelona Sports tour In the Easter half term, the J5 boys will have a rugby trip to Venice where they visit islands Murano and Burano. They also get time to explore Venice and see the sights and play rugby against the local clubs as well. The J5 girls go to Barcelona on a netball trip around the same time too. They also enjoy seeing the famous places near where they are staying.

Tom Palmer Visit There was also an author visit from Tom Palmer, the author of the Roy of the Rovers and several books based on war. His talk was centered around questions and answers, so it was very interactive and engaging.

Viking Day The J1’s also had an exiting day to do with Vikings, on that day they learnt to weave and bake flatbread. They also made their own broaches and listened to a Viking Saga, all-around it was a fun and exciting day, and we are looking forward to more!

Carlton Lodge!

This term the J4’s went on a trip to Carlton Lodge, which is an area of land where you can do bushcraft, fire-making, shelter building and more. It also features a lake where they did raft building!

J4’s also had a drama work-shop, where they did some work based around their book that they are studying,

Problem: I’m stressed about expectations from my parents what should I do?

Solution: Talking to your parents helps with this issue, you can talk to them about their expectations for you and if it works with your leaning abilities.

Problem: I don’t like how my friend/friends are treating me, what should I do?

Solution: If you have realised that there are some parts of a particular friendship that have made you feel bad, it’ s worth talking it out with them, don’t be afraid, because none of us like the idea of losing a friend, and some deserve a second chance.

Problem (For parents): I think my child is unhappy at school Solution: Talk to your child if they’re unhappy at school or you’re worried about their education, find out as much as you can. You might be able to solve the problem with your child if you suggest things, they can change to make it better.

Anti-bullying week Anti-bullying week (15th to 20th November) is a big focus in our school.

It celebrates diversity through one KIND word. And we extend that diversity by wearing odd socks and shoes. STOP BULLYING AND BE

KIND! Survey time!!!!

There is a lot of things which people feel insecure about or feel that the school can improve on so the school set a survey (this is anonymous so you or your child’s teachers wouldn’t have a clue who is who) and would answer the questions personally.

So, for summary…

Our school diversity and inclusion mean a lot to us There is a week dedicated to our school which we have odd socks and shoes day.

There Is a survey for our school based on their insecurities and concerns. This is on the school OLAVI pages if you want to look at it.

St Peter’s Charity This year we don’t have a set charity to continue all year.

However, we are supporting multiple smaller charities.

You might have brought a pound or two for the Remembrance Day poppy trust and that money goes to helping veterans or those injured in active service thank you for the generous donations. A lot of people also brought in clothes or food for Carecent at harvest festival time

And up to the 17th of December people have brought in Christmas presents for children who might not otherwise receive any, in the salvation army Christmas appeal.

Anti-Bullying week The topic of this year’s Anti-Bullying week was One Kind Word, it focused on saying a kind thing to someone instead of a mean thing. There was a display and some posters created by the Pupil Ambassadors to mark Anti-Bullying week. The display consisted of a white board where people stuck post-it notes with a kind word

LOOKING AHEAD! Next term, the J5 Tempest Company will be performing at the Leeds Playhouse along with a few other schools. It is in the first half term of February .
