NEXT STEPS AT ST. PAUL’S
Our five priorities to set the St. Paul’s community up for continued success
Over the past year, we have been considering our next strategic priorities. This process began in early 2023 at our board retreat and has been informed by our mission and values, our community wide survey data, and faculty and staff feedback.
We have identified five areas of focus: community connection, faculty support and wellbeing, student support and skill development, campus improvements, and teaching and learning. We also know that a strategic plan must be flexible and adjust to meet the unexpected. We will keep our community updated on our progress and any additions or changes to these priorities and initial next steps.

COMMUNITY CONNECTION
Our student, parents, faculty and staff, alumni, alumni parents, grandparents, and community partners are the heart of St. Paul’s. We want to provide more meaningful opportunities for engagement and ensure that all are welcome at St. Paul’s. Looking ahead, we will,
• Honor our Episcopal identity by continuing to build and support a diverse and inclusive community.
• Provide additional learning opportunities and age level developmental resources for parents to enhance our partnership.
• Improve outreach to alumni and alumni families to share the St. Paul’s story.
FACULTY SUPPORT & WELLBEING
Our faculty and staff are the key to living our mission. We are committed to supporting our team and making St. Paul’s the best place to teach and work in Kansas City. As we look ahead, we will,
• Provide additional counseling and learning support staff and resources to help classroom teachers.
• Facilitate professional development based on the areas identified by teachers and administrators in their respective divisions.
• Ensure that our salaries and benefits remain competitive in the market and partner with faculty and staff to identify future needs.
STUDENT SUPPORT & SKILLS DEVELOPMENT
St. Paul’s has always prioritized the development of the whole child. We know that our students must develop academic and life skills in and out of the classroom to grow into confident learners, ethical leaders, and compassionate, engaged citizens. Looking ahead, we will,
• Provide additional counseling and academic support staff to help students and families.
• Enhance the extracurricular experience with a focus on the visual and performing arts and athletic programs.
• Deepen our commitment to service learning and life skills development.
UPGRADE CAMPUS SPACES
We are fortunate to have a significant footprint and impressive facilities in the heart of Kansas City. As our programs continue to grow and change, our spaces must evolve as well. Looking ahead, we will,
• Update the upper field to meet the needs of our athletics program and provide a community gathering space.
• Refresh the ECC classrooms and shared spaces to meet the current and emerging needs of our students and teachers.
• Enhance Walnut Street and build connection between the east and west sides of the
TEACHING & LEARNING
From early learners through 8th grade, we offer a stellar academic program that challenges and inspires our students, and we recognize the importance of embracing and modeling a growth mindset. Looking ahead, we will,
• Improve the use of data and research to inform changes to curriculum and instructional practices.
• Identify additional opportunities to innovate our approach to curriculum delivery.
• Develop an ongoing curriculum review process that provides recommendations and commendations of academic areas on a rotational basis.
