CrossFit became an exciting popular workout a few years ago when box gyms began popping up not only across the UK, but across the world and it’s evident to see that the movement continues to grow in popularity, especially in our local area. For those still living under a dumbbell since its inception, CrossFit promotes a culture of autonomy and accountability, whilst being presented with scalable workouts that vary daily, allowing athletes of any fitness level to compete against one another. Before you think, I am carrying a little lockdown weight, I’m in!... Let’s determine if it’s right for you.
CROSSFIT One element that has stood out to us is that Crossfit is ideal if you seek encouragement and support when wanting to improve your fitness. Within CrossFit there seems to be a real sense of community spirit, where you will receive nothing but encouragement whilst you build your way into the programme and beyond. Each workout will test a different part of your functional strength or conditioning, not specialising in one particular thing, but rather with the goal of building a body that’s capable of practically anything and everything. Rather than having one workout for older women and another for hardcore athletes – there’s ONE workout each day that is completely scalable based on your skill.
