‘Our dynamic team compris es qualified and experienced ski instructors who share your passion for skiing, working with so much enthusiasm and dedication. We have a few recommendations for you to get you started in skiing. Fundamentally it is advisable to always warm up, or at least loosen up, before snapping into your skis. This applies to beginners as much as it does to those at an advanced level. You also shouldn’t really do too much on your first day of skiing, regardless of whether you are a competent skier, or are just learning. A gentle increase is better and is easier on your muscles and joints. Starting slowly also reduces the risk of injury.’

The Grünegg Alm, which has been part of the Grünegghof since 1506, with its 1.5 km natural toboggan run – floodlit in the evenings – also tempts you to enjoy a special experience. Along with the wonderful views to the impressive Hochkönig massif, Hochkönig Edelbrennerei awaits too. This exhibition distillery provides a look behind the scenes of this old craft and you can see up close for yourself how fine brandies, liqueurs, gins and even rum are made the traditional way. Learn everything about the art of distilling here before you head back down into the valley in your toboggan. You can also enjoy fine brandies, liqueurs and gins at our hotel bar.

Much like skiing, tobogganing is an activity you couldn’t imagine not being a part of our Alpine culture. But what is the allure of tobogganing?
This idyllic experience, in close proximity to the natural surroundings, sets children’s hearts racing, while adults quickly revert to their own childhood memories. And the feeling you get when snowflakes dance
around your nose as you enjoy being on your toboggan, filled with a sense of ease and the air flowing all around you making it a really invigorating experience.
