2025 50 years of Sporthotel Neustift
Rudi - 80 years as Senior Manager
Our Senior Manager Rudi came into the world as the tenth of eleven children and grew up in the Hotel Sonnhof in Neustift. He met his wife Christine in 1973, and soon after that they raised a family together; he is the proud father of four daughters – Sabine, Claudia, Sandra and Cornelia. Among his great passions are tourism and his well-stocked wine cellar, which is known far beyond the borders of Tyrol. At a young age his sporting talent and expertise as a fully qualified tennis coach and ski instructor took him to the United States of America. Rudi can to this day be seen practicing his elegant ski turns on the various ski pistes in Stubaital. At this juncture we would like to wish him continued health, happiness and above all else, fun in the natural surroundings he has come to cherish.

For the good of the environment
Cleaning
Our motto is to avoid waste wherever possible, and to cleanly separate any waste produced. During cleaning we only use biologically harmless and degradable products.
We enjoy the fresh air, the still largely untouched natural surroundings and the abundance of wildlife. And we think it should stay this way: We are committed to responsibly handing resources and protecting nature. So we plan to improve the sustainability of our work step by step.
Regionality
For over 40 years, since the establishment of the hotel, we have worked together with local producers. Whether it’s carpenters, repairmen, plumbers, building and construction workers, electricians or painters – all work hand in hand.
Regionality is important to us! We intentionally rely on seasonality and regionality because: Culinary enjoyment is essential at the Sporthotel Neustift. Therefore, the excellent quality and knowledge of origin of the products is of vital importance to us and our kitchen team.
Particular attention is paid to the use of environmentally friendly raw materials, as well as ensuring an efficient, sustainable manufacturing process when developing the products. All products have been awarded multiple certifications, including the Austrian Ecolabel and the EU Ecolabel. These are a testament both to the products’ environmental compatibility and cleaning performance – resulting in a great feeling and perfect cleaning results.
Energy
For decades, sustainable power production harnessing the power of water has played a key role in Stubaital. That is why we are doing our bit to provide sustainable energy too. Since spring 2024 we have been using our own photovoltaic facility to produce energy to power our wellness area.
Anyone who has ever been to Sporthotel Neustift knows that Senior Manager Rudi Pfurtscheller is a real wine connoisseur. Indeed, not only does he have a passion for exquisite wines, he is a collector too! There are over 30,000 bottles in his wine cellar, including numerous Austrian white wines and sweet wines, along with Italian and French reds and genuinely rare wines too. He has passionately selected the wines himself, drawing upon his expert knowledge.
