A Time to Be Thankful Over the past year, SmartSenior and our members have been adjusting and have rolled with the changes with all of the COVID-19 precautions. We are proud to say that we have continued to serve our members during the entirety of COVID-19. SmartSenior went from having to schedule appointments and cancelling classes and activities, to finally not requiring appointments as well as bringing back some of your favorite activities that included exercise classes, line dance classes, yoga, painting classes, craft classes and movie days. We thank each of you for playing a part in the ability to open our program’s offerings due to the fact you remained diligent in your social distancing, wearing masks, hand washing and receiving a vaccine. Now, we also want to reflect on some of the proud accomplishments SmartSenior has enjoyed over the last year. First, we are proud of our brave members who took the challenge and learned how to work zoom. Learning something new always has it challenges and can be scary, especially when it comes to technology. However, many of you participated in our virtual activities after taking the Free Zoom classes offered. It was not always perfect but we took the time to walk and talk through the problems, which has led us to learn something new but more importantly being able to teach our members something new. Next, we are so excited to see SmartSenior’s continue to take advantage of our services! Every time we have a member come into our office for photo copies, faxing, notary services or the hugely popular secure document shredding service, we are delighted to chat with you. Nothing is more fulfilling than being able to catch up with you and hear about how things are going. So please, continue to stop by SmartSenior for any of our services and of course a “nice chat” while you are here. Finally, we are so pleased to have our members come back to in-person activities. A big part of SmartSenior is in-person activities. It is where we get to see our members in action and having fun! We have taken the proper measures to make sure we are safely enjoying the in-person events/activities, but we understand that some people might still be cautious about gathering in groups. Hopefully with the continued precautions and a “Booster” Vaccine, it will give us the needed protection to continue to safely open more activities such as our monthly Lunch & Learn’s and Breakfast Bunch seminars. Don’t forget that SmartSenior’s first Holiday Party in two years will be held on Friday, December 3, 2021 and tickets are still available! It is our hope that everyone is a little more thankful during this holiday season because of all we have endured. While it has been a challenging year, we all have so much to be thankful for and we look forward to a better world in 2022!!

Important Christmas Party info We are excited that we are going to have our annual SmartSenior Christmas party this year. While we are still in a Covid-19 world, we want to take safety measures along with giving people who attend peace of mind. We will be requiring people who attend to either have proof of a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours before the event or a Covid-19 vaccine card. You must have one of these in order to get into the Christmas party. We thank you for your understanding and can’t wait to see you!
