LUNCH & LEARN SMARTSENIOR ANNOUNCES RETURN OF LUNCH & LEARN SEMINARS It has been a long two and a half years without our most popular program, the Lunch & Learn Seminars. It has been a slow process navigating through the Covid-19 Pandemic, keeping ourselves and others safe with social distancing and wearing masks to lock-downs and closings, but we have finally arrived! St. Joseph’s/Candler was recently able to open our hospitals to the public with masking, but without the prior restrictive visitation rules. Upon receiving the good news, SmartSenior staff immediately went to work contacting the many who have been patiently waiting to come and speak to SmartSeniors! Jenny Koch, Program Manager says, “we are excited to bring back the fun, but most importantly, bringing back the education we receive from attending these valuable learning seminars. We have members who have attended our Lunch & Learns and received information that changed their lives for the better. That is the sole purpose for what we do here at St. Joseph’s/Candler and SmartSenior. To assist you in making your health better and to live your best life!” The popular Lunch & Learn Seminars have included a variety of topics which are always ones that are of particular interest to mature adults. Some topics are of the more fun variety, but many are topics regarding our health, finances and safety, “there is something for everyone,” says Koch. For July, we are excited to have Kelly Tours come and celebrate “Christmas in July” where we will have some fun planning your fall and Christmas get-away, no need to wait until December! Finally, in August, Dr. Robert Dow Hoffman from Chatham Orthopaedic Associates will come to discuss the latest treatments for shoulder problems. Please refer to pages 3 and 4 for full information on how to register and all the information regarding the seminars.
