While seasonal influenza (flu) viruses are detected year-round in the United States, flu viruses are most common during the fall and winter. The exact timing and duration of flu seasons can vary, but influenza activity often begins to increase in October. A PERFECT FALL ACTIVITY Fall is one of the best times of year for birdwatching, when the annual southerly migrations of song birds, waterfowl and birds of prey sweep down Georgia’s coast. The migrations start as early as August, peaking in the weeks from late September to early October.

Being a volunteer can help keep the brain and the body active, which contributes to continuing cognitive health, according to numerous studies.
