WE ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT CREATING OPPORTUNITIES FOR OUR PUPILS TO DEVELOP NEW SKILLS, PUSH THEMSELVES OUT OF THEIR COMFORT ZONES, BROADEN THEIR HORIZONS AND HAVE FUN.

St John’s offers a vast array of activities to create a rich and interesting co-curricular programme. The variety and breadth of this programme is key in helping the pupils grow as well-rounded individuals with a broad spectrum of interests.

The activities offered reflect a range of pursuits that might be regarded as traditional co-curricular clubs, as well as branching into new and exciting activities. The programme is driven around the interests of our pupils and our staff and is an important part of every pupil’s weekly timetable. Tutors encourage pupils to try something new each term.

From chess club and debating to honing cricket skills or building a hovercraft: you name it, you can do it! These clubs are in addition to weekly academic clinics, art, music, drama, Combined Cadet Force, Duke of Edinburgh and the Community Service Unit.

Lower School pupils have the option to take part in afternoon clubs from Monday to Thursday. They provide a great way to burn off energy, try something new and to get to know some other pupils and staff. Prep club runs every week from Monday to Thursday.

Pupils in Fourth Form to Upper Fifth must attend a minimum of three afternoon clubs or activities a week, at least one of which should be non-sport. Pupils in Sixth Form must attend a minimum of two activities, at least one of which should be non-sport. Prep club is also available from Monday to Thursday.
