The 26th International Poster Biennale in Warsaw

We announced the OPEN THEMATIC COMPETITION to mark 2018 being the 100th anniversary of Poland regaining its independence and similar anniversaries in other countries of the region. 1918 saw the independence aspirations of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia being fulfilled, the creation of a bi-national independent state – Czechoslovakia – being proclaimed, and a year earlier the establishment of Finland. This competition aims to evoke such values as independence, freedom, community, community and cultural identity, nationhood, brotherhood/solidarity, and tolerance. We were inspired by the past, but on the global scale this theme remains a current one. Posters have already more than once proved effective in the struggle for higher goals! Out of the 848 entries submitted for the thematic competition, 84 posters were admitted (by pre-selection) for the exhibition and catalogue. The winners will be announced on June 9th 2018 during the inauguration of the 26th International Poster Biennale in Warsaw at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.
