JUST ANOTHER DAY IN COMMUNITY MANAGEMENT Being a manager and dressing for the 100-degree heat and being comfortable can be a challenge. On one such day, I knew I had inspections in the excessive heat outside so when I got dressed for work, I dressed appropriately casual, but professional. I looked at myself in the mirror and said, “Self, you look good today and will be comfortable on inspections.” Off to the office I went. I was in the office for a little over an hour and my boss called me in to his office to “chat”. My boss noted that there were several “concerns”, which really were “complaints” saying that I had come to the office in my pajama bottoms!!! Good grief—I was mortified to say the least and explained I was “NOT” in my pajamas, I was wearing loose fitting dress pants. My boss was a little “red faced” at the whole situation and since then I have thought about retiring those pants for work. So much for thinking I looked good that day!!
