Welcome to our 52nd Annual Family Event Sale! This year the name “Family Event” couldn’t ring more true as we merge two families together for a common goal - Schrag Nikkel Show Cattle. Last fall Sammi and Jake got engaged and the logical next step was to join forces and create something really special. Jake has moved up to South Dakota to manage the show and sale cattle while Sammi manages the sexed semen lab at 605 Sires. With the addition of Taylor Ohlde managing the cowherd in Kansas, we’ll be able to utilize both places and we’re excited to continue to build relationships in both states!

Her mother is an absolute unit of a donor cow and we see this one following suit after a long successful show career. Her maternal sib, SS Inferno, was a sale topper and sold to Cornerstone Farms last year. He went on to win the calf division at The American Royal and Cattlemen’s Congress and will be used heavily in our Shorthorn lineup. It seems like trends in the show ring change from year to year. We all find different traits to harp on and we get in this kinda back and forth on what is ideal. We can sit around and argue about that all day, but the one thing I don’t believe we can argue about is how important structure is and will remain to be. To me it is the one singular trait that separates the great from the good. The Lot 2 heifer is absolutely flawless in terms of skeletal design. She tracks well, bends in all the right places, while still being huge bodied. You can’t build them better.

The Blackcap cow family from the Cates family has done tons for our program. This heifer derives from the same cow family as the Denton’s many time champion On Point female. 3030 is also a maternal sibling to the high selling 90K female at Sunrise Sunset this year. When our herdsman Blake Sweeter said he was gonna bring some Lil Kim’s for the sale, couldn’t help myself from getting excited. That cow has produced so many champions and overall great livestock. The Redemption is one that you just love to look at every time you go to feed her. She never has her head down and is so expansive through her center rib while being insanely sound. The Outlier is one that is huge boned, big backed and so good on the go. Both these heifers have a great disposition. It’s humbling to have great cattle like this as always, but what makes it better is to have friends like the Sweeter’s.

Terms of the sale are cash or check made payable to Schrag Nikkel Show Cattle to the clerk immediately following the sales and before the cattle are removed from Schrag Nikkel Show Cattle. Purchasers or their representatives must sign the bill of sale prior to leaving the sale.
Unless an animal is listed on the American Shorthorn Association “genetic defect status list,” the American Shorthorn Association makes no representation of any kind as to whether or not the animal has a genetic defect.

There are commercial flights every day to Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
All cows are routinely vaccinated for Lepto, Vibrio, IBR, P13 and BVD. All calf hood vaccination include 7-way and Pinkeye, IBR, P1, BVD, and BRSV. Heifer calves are bangs vaccinated. Pastrurella hemolytu-ca and Hemophilius sommus.

GENETIC DEFECT STATUS
BREEDING GUARANTEE
All animals sell guaranteed to be fertile, Exceptions: 1) Disease, or injury occurring after purchase; 2) bulls being run with herd prior to 14 months of age. Schrag Nikkel will guarantee open heifers to breed; however, please keep in mind that animal conditions influence fertility greatly. If there is a problem, we would want the females to be returned to us to be bred, Open heifers that have been transplanted are not guaranteed. In the event that an animal will not settle with the efforts of the buyer and seller, a sale credit in the amount of the purchase price will be issued to the buyer that can be used at any time on any animal, flush, semen or embryos sold by Schrag Nikkel.
Insurance will be available for your purchases at the sale through Aegerter Marketing Services. Contact either their representative or the clerk at the settlement desk.
All animals sell with complete pedigrees or applications for registration.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Schrag Nikkel Show Cattle reserves one flush of eight or more grade 1 or 2 embryos at our expense on all females selling.
Each animal will be at the buyers risk as soon as sold, but will be cared for by the seller’s for a reasonable amount of time. Neither the owners, employees, auctioneer, sale managers or the affiliated personnel can be responsible for any accidents, but they will make every effort to provide for the safety and comfort of those attending.
Guarantee one pregnancy on each package of embryos sold if implanted by a certified technician. In the event that a pregnancy is not confirmed, an additional embryo will be received.
REGISTRATION AND TRANSFER
Only the cattle out of known carriers parents have been tested for TH, PHA, and DS, results available sale day.
Each animal will be represented by a state approved health certificate for interstate shipment. Buyers should make themselves aware of the health requirements for their respective states.

Mailed or telephoned bids will be handled in a most confidential manner. If you are unable to attend the sale personally, simply contact a representative of the sale team; Cory Schrag; or any other sale representative listed in this catalog far enough in advance prior to sale day; they will be able to assist you at ringside on sale day.
