“Hello, Stella Park, a designer who graduated in Furniture and Product Design from Nottingham Trent University.
Stella designs reflect cultural heritage and traditions, aiming to create eco-friendly and practical products that are in harmony with nature. She enjoy incorporating floral patterns and cultural inspirations into her designs, creating rich and meaningful works. Her design philosophy focuses on enhancing the quality of life for users and contributing to a sustainable future. During her studies at Nottingham Trent University, She gained a deep understanding of the fusion of tradition and modernity, cultural diversity, and sustainability in British design. British design emphasises innovation and creativity, harmoniously blending traditional elements with contemporary aesthetics. This approach has enabled her to create unique and vibrant designs. The multicultural environment in the UK provided her with opportunities to integrate various cultural elements into my work. She strive to use sustainable materials to minimise environmental impact while pursuing practical and functional design solutions.
Stella’s hobbies include wakeboarding, golfing, weaving, interior designing, styling, decorating, drawing, and baking.”

The theme of this ELDORA design concept is Work & Study, and I made it a concept that can combine work and life. And the furniture shown in this project design is a space-separable shelf. With the recent pandemic, Covid-19 has led to design a display stand and shelves for people who spend time at home to display their online programme and hobbies life.
The design concept for this ELDORA design was decided by SCP's Boxed Collection. Through simple, light, modern, and fluid design, I thought about a design that can make use of one space called home.
The shelf design was inspired by traditional Korean hanok windows and Piet Mondrian's Composition with Red Blue and Yellow.
To create a flat-pack furniture range that can be assembled with ease by everyone, focusing on those with phsycial imparements. So keep focusing the weight to a minimum. Using in the hallway. In larger spaces, this is a long passage with doors into rooms on both side of it. and House or flat is the area just inside of the front door in which some rooms open up into.

Our group project began with the deconstruction of a chair, which laid the groundwork for our main project and made the process both engaging and rewarding. Under the guidance of Pearson Lloyd and Takt, we gained valuable insights into circular production by dismantling the ICF chair—discovering an unexpected 104 components, which lengthened our timeline since we could only work on it during class.
Each team selected four components from the disassembled chair to recreate it with a new design, ultimately leading us to name our creation the Spindle Chair, inspired by earlier nicknames like “Spider Chair” and “Bug Chair.”
Through this initial project, we gained valuable insights into circular production with guidance from Pearson Lloyd and TAKT, enabling us to approach our consultancy project with a deeper understanding of sustainable design.
Material Exploration - Recycled light
Wondered how recycling plastic into furniture or products would be sustainable. It is a completed recycled plastic chandelier for Bedside.
The materials gathered recycled plastics and separated them by colour inspired by Saekdong (Korean traditional striped colours), before creating chips in green, red, purple, blue, and orange to create a geometrically occlusal product.
Drawing inspiration from “sackdong,” the traditional Korean multi-coloured stripes, I gathered various coloured plastics to reflect its vibrant palette, traditionally seen in blue, red, yellow, white, and black. Once considered a cliché, sackdong’s bold, cheerful contrasts are now valued for their cultural significance, bringing rhythm and balance to designs like those I developed at the part time restaurant.

Why did I combine two different shades of white plastic?
- Initially, there was no diffusion of illumination when only coloured plastic was melted and light was illuminated. It was anticipated that the light would be obscured.
- Following that, the colour ratio was adjusted to 2:8, and coloured plastic was added in smaller quantities than transparent plastic and melted. White light spread more light around, and the different colours of plastic mixed together to make a mysterious colour effect in the light.
During my internship at Mamel Co., Ltd., a furniture, interior, and product design company, I held the position of an intern.

The Cotton Production Ban of 2050
Introducing the “Wind Bloom” pendant, which has been diligently produced to depict the delicate dance of flower petals that sway in the wind. Crafted from hanji, a traditional Korean paper known for its durability and environmental friendliness, it represents a sustainable and environmentally conscious perspective. This pendant gives off a gentle, natural light that brings harmony and peace to any area, making it the perfect place to unwind and reflect. The “Wind Bloom” pendant’s classic beauty and understated elegance will elevate your home.
Exhibited the selected by “Wind Bloom pendant” to New Desingers in London Business design centre.
I loved meeting so many people and talking to them about my work and getting sucha positive response to them.
Commission
During graduation exhibition, a visitor commissioned me to produce this work at double the size.
Inspired by the “Light of Korea,” this piece blends traditional Korean Dancheong patterns with modern aesthetics, featuring intricate floral motifs symbolising “KKOT,” meaning “flower” in Korean. Crafted from premium Korean pine wood and acrylic materials, it combines durability with contemporary sophistication. Seamlessly integrating tradition and modernity, it offers a fresh perspective on Korea’s cultural heritage.
“How can the fusion of tradition and modernity in furniture design offer new possibilities?”
