The name “KKOT” for the furniture embodies the meaning of “flower” in Korean, symbolising both the floral patterns of traditional Korean Dancheong and the fusion of traditional Korean colours with modern elegance, resulting in a sophisticated and contemporary lounge table. Additionally, “light” signifies the way the floral patterns on the tabletop shine and enhance the beauty of the design when illuminated. Thus, the name “KKOT” encapsulates the essence of the furniture’s beauty and modern sensibility, while also paying homage to Korean culture and tradition.
The design incorporates these traditional elements. Inspired by the low table, the furniture piece is crafted, while the design draws inspiration from the floral motifs found in Dancheong. Additionally, the colours of the side tables are extracted from the obangsaek palette. Through this integration, the product seeks to blend Korean tradition and beauty with modern design, preserving unique cultural values.
