MAJOR OFFICIALS NEWSLETTER

EDITION THREE | 12.03.25

Dear all,

Welcome to the third edition of the Major Officials Newsletter. This week we just have a few notices about what we’ve been up to recently and what our plans are for the coming weeks.

The next school council meeting is next Thursday, the 20th of March, with our whole school meeting on Monday the 31st of March. Please make sure to discuss your motions and ideas in Company Time.

Sorcha, our Chair of EDI, has organised a celebration of St Patrick’s Day for next Monday, March 17th, where there will be themed activities such as face painting at lunch. St Patrick’s Day is one of the celebrations and events that the students requested from the form that was sent over the past weeks, so if anybody has any other ideas for events to celebrate at school in future please let either Sorcha or any Major Official know.

The first Bee Green Committee meeting was held last week, and will be held every Week B Tuesday Lunch in IT2 from 13:10-13:40. Rewilding parts of the field and introducing bees was discussed.

Next Friday is Red Nose Day, and we will be running a bake sale and selling Red Noses for Comic Relief.

Our Chairs of the Food Committee, Daniel Dew and Art Quelch, have organised the reopening of the Tuck Shop, and so will be opening again next week. The order will be delivered on Monday so the Tuck Shop will reopen later in the week. Regarding fruit portions, which has come up in the whole school meeting, a lot of fruit has been getting wasted and nutritionally one piece of fruit is enough if you have dessert, however if a student does not finish their lunch or have dessert, then they may take a second piece of fruit. New menus and Grab and Go system is coming soon!

We are holding our Social Space Meeting this Thursday in IT2 from 13:10-13:40, so please come along to share your ideas on improvements to the social spaces!

Finally, if anyone has any ideas or motions please don’t hesitate to email majorofficials@stchris.co.uk or speak to any of the Major Officials in person and we will discuss them further.

Thank you for reading,
