In a bid to spread the good cheer and leave behind the Covid woes, many locals have gone above and beyond with their Christmas displays this year, brightening up the streets and people’s spirits in the process. One Pakenham family’s spectacular display is not only shedding a little light with the community, but is also raising money for a good cause at the same time. Martin and Kelly (both keen Christmas enthusiasts) love decorating their Kristina Court home each year for the festive season - but the young couple decided to take it up a notch this time around. “Last year we had about 50,000 lights, but this year we’ve almost doubled that, so I would guess there’s anywhere from 60,000 to 100,000 lights up right now. “And across the road is very similar, they have a slightly different set up to us - but between us we both have a lot of lights!“ Martin laughed. “We just love doing it and thought why not do it for charity to raise money at the same time?“ The family have chosen to support Camp Quality this year, a not-for-profit organisation that helps children living with cancer and their families through treatment and recovery.
