Don Valley HFRWG members Andrew Martin, Cassandra Stanley and Rick Hulihan are crying foul over what they say is a 'pretend' consultation. 173059

Picture: KATH GANNAWAY

Consultation fail By Kath Gannaway Community members of the Haining Farm Redevelopment Working Group (HFRWG) are urging Don Valley residents to back them in calling on Environment Minister Lily D’Ambrosio to intervene on the future of Haining Farm.

They claim the online Community Engagement Report designed to gauge support for four different proposals was skewed in a last-minute email blitz by Zoos Victoria and other environment groups encouraging members to vote for wildlife habitat. The future use of the government-

owned farm which is currently run as a dairy farm has been the subject of a seven-month consultation run by the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning following a plan to revegetate the 59-hectare property as part of the Yellingbo Conservation Area.

The HRFWG also included representatives of the Yellingbo Co-ordinating Committee, the CFA, Parks Victoria with a Zoos Victoria representative as an adviser and Cr Jim Child as a local community member. In a joint letter dated 4 September, DELWP and Parks Victoria advised

the Haining Working Group that a decision had been made which would see 42 hectares revegetated to provide habitat for two of Victoria’s threatened species, the helmeted honeyeater and the lowland Leadbeater’s possum. Continued on page 3

Caravan park steps up By Kath Gannaway After almost two years of vital but largely hidden infrastructure improvements, Warburton Holiday Park celebrated their achievements with the opening of their new visitor reception and kiosk centre. The building replaces the tiny space that greeted visitors over many years with a spacious and functional building which also includes a top floor of accommodation for the owners, Simon Edwards and David Pratt and their families. The building was officially opened on Wednesday, 13 September, by Eildon MP, Cindy McLeish. Following a tour of the building, Mr Edwards welcomed guests including Ms McLeish, Yarra Ranges O’Shannassy Ward representative Cr Jim Child, Yarra Ranges Council CEO Glenn Patterson and Warburton Advancement League president Jeff Gill. Mr Edwards said a lot had been achieved in the 646 days since he and David took over, including a change of name from Warburton Caravan Park. “It’s been an important time for us to reflect on what we have been achieving here,” he said. “We have been really trying to pull together our vision of what we would like this caravan park to be and what a great tourist asset it could be for the area.” He said there had been a flurry of activity over the nearly two years, with upgrading essential below-ground infrastructure as well as two new toilet blocks, a new camp kitchen and security boomgates. The guests' new reception building represents the major investment so far, providing better facilities for visitors and for staff.

when the results started to spike dramatically in favour of the return to wildlife option after the emails went out late in June. Mr Houlihan said the results were originally swinging towards the option that was favoured by the Don Valley community until Zoos Victoria put out their call to hundreds of thousands of Friends of the Zoos and staff members and votes started coming in from all over Australia. Ms Stanley said the group responded by putting forward a 50/50 compromise plan that they say would have provided habitat for the endangered species and to retain the farm activities. “The goal it would appear from the outset was to discontinue dairying, to revegetate the site, create wetlands by altering the hydrology to create ripanian woodlands, making a new and

dations, DELWP and Parks Victoria “are the decision makers”. DELWP defended the Zoos Victoria/environment groups campaign saying as Haining Farm is a part of Victoria’s parks estate and the concepts relate to two of Victoria’s endangered state emblems, it was appropriate that the engagement process captured a range of views. “We have accounted for the different types of interest of those that provided feedback, by breaking down the results to ensure the views of those within 10 kilometres of Haining Farm have been identified separately to those that live outside the local area. “This is detailed in the engagement report that is publicly available on the Engage Victoria (https://engage.vic.gov.au/yellingboconservationarea ). improved Yellingbo Reserve,” they wrote in a letter which will be distributed to Don Valley residents. Ms Stanley and Mr Houlihan said they felt the views of the local community had been ignored. They said the minister had assured the group that they were not going to have “a pretend" consultation, and rubber stamp the Greening Australia plan for Haining. “Unfortunately, despite the efforts of the community members of the working party we have ended up with the original Greening Australia/Zoos/Parks plan for the farm which is to revegetate the entire farm,” Mr Houlihan said. A spokesperson for DELWP confirmed to the Mail that while Minister D’Ambrosio has been kept informed of the recommen-

Healesville Kooweerup crash The dangerous stretch of road between Woori Yallock and Healesville has again been the site of a car crash. On Saturday morning, 16 September, a white ute travelling toward Woori Yallock collided with an oncoming vehicle which is alleged to have lost control and veered into the ute’s path. The road was reduced to one lane while emergency services attended the scene. Police are working with VicRoads to identify the cause, but it is believed oil on the road may have contributed to the crash.

‘Pretend’ consultation faces real criticism From front page “The results of the community engagement process clearly demonstrated that the local community is supportive of the site continuing to be used as a dairy farm, while the broader community was supportive of the site providing habitat for two of Victoria’s threatened species,” the letter advised. It said of the more than 2300 people who responded to the survey on the DEWLP site, around 80 per cent supported the proposal to provide habitat for the threatened species. Spokesperson for the Don Valley Community members of the HFRWG, Cassandra Stanley, along with Rick Houlihan, who represented the Yarra Waterways Group on the Group, say while there had been many constructuive and informative meetings they saw the writing on the wall

a ‘pretend’ consultation the spokesperson said the final concept was different to the original Greening Australia proposal, providing for less revegetation and seasonal grazing. “The community response to the process was overwhelming with 2345 people submitting a survey to have their say about the future of Haining Farm,” the spokesperson said. The final concept incorporates the feedback through that process as well as modifications to address the issues identified by the working group, such as additional bushfire risk mitigation and amenity issues such as the visual experience of seeing cows along Don Road and Dalry Road. DELWP and Parks Victoria were set to meet with the working group in Don Valley on Monday, 18 September.

Between 4.30pm, Friday 15 September and 7.45am, Saturday 16 September vandals gained entry to Yarra Junction Primary School and took items from a construction zone located on the school premises. Construction works are currently underway at the school, and it is believed the vandals gained entry and then stole door fittings, toilet fittings, hand dryers and a basin. Anyone with information about the offences or anyone who observed any suspicious activity in the area is urged to contact Yarra Ranges CIU on 9739 2300.

Handbag stolen Between 7am on 12 September and 4.30pm the following day, a house on Clarke Avenue was broken into. It is believed offenders opened the front door before stealing two handbags situated next to the door. Police remind residents to lock all doors, even when at home. Anyone with information about the offences or anyone who observed any suspicious activity in the area is urged to contact Yarra Ranges CIU on 9739 2300.

Healesville crimes Cindy McLeish MP

Member for Eildon

Earlier this year Healesville residents were subjected to a rampant crime spree, with over two dozen thefts from vehicles and sheds. Criminals targeted unlocked cars and the backs of utility trays stealing wallets, iPods and tools. Across our region crime has increased 7.1 per cent in the last year and over 70 per cent of this increase can be attributed to an increase in

tools. This is excellent advice and we can all learn something from it. But Victorians should not have to live in constant fear of their possessions being stolen, or to have people break into their homes during the night. Yarra Valley residents are wondering why their government has abandoned them and why Daniel Andrews is failing to get tough on criminals. The first, second and third priority of any government must be to keep our community safe. Our justice system is broken and only the Liberal Nationals has the plans, resolve and commitment to fix it.

at the supermarket, service stations, and tractor dealer. Across the state and across the Yarra Ranges tradies are particular targets for opportunistic criminals who are able to swipe thousands of dollars’ worth of tools and equipment in an instant. We have also seen that these thefts can turn violent. Just last week a tradie in Balaclava was struck on the back of the head at a worksite. with the offender driving off in his ute. Victoria Police suggest there are a number of things tradies can do to reduce the chance of their tools and equipment being stolen including parking vehicles in a garage at night, locking up and installing alarms on toolboxes and marking or engraving company names and numbers on

Tops in conser vation By Kath Gannaway Conservation work at Coranderrk in Healesville has been recognised at the Victorian Landcare Awards. Wandoon Estate Aboriginal Corporation was awarded the Australian Government Partnerships for Landcare Award at a ceremony at Government House on 7 September. Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes said the annual awards acknowledged the work of community land carers, groups and members for their endeavours in conserving and improving Victoria’s diverse landscape. Coranderrk in Barak Lane, Healesville, was an Aboriginal Reserve of almost 5000 acres from 1863 until its forced closure in 1924. In 1998 the Indigenous Land Corporation (ILC) purchased 80 hectares of the original property and handed it to Wandoon Estate. Through the endeavour of Wandoon Estate members, volunteers, Yarra Ranges Council and partnerships with organisations such as Melbourne Water, Port Phillip and Westernport CMA, Friends of the Helmeted Honeyeater and the ILC, work has progressed towards rejuvenating Coranderrk as a working farm, providing habitat for native fauna and as a place to bring Wurundjeri people together on Country. The award was accepted by Wandoon representatives, Wurundjeri people Jacqui Wandin and David Wandin. Ms Wandin said the award recognised the value of people working together.

Wandoon Estate's Jacqui Wandin and Uncle Dave Wandin from Narrap Land Management with Coranderrk project partners. “By planting corridors of plants to help the helmeted honeyeater, that helps us manage the water and grazing (cattle) to help with turnover for our rates,” Ms Wandin said. “We are introducing more native grasses and about to start direct seeding of kangaroo grasses, instead of planting seedlings.” The citation spoke of the value of partnerships, saying the Wurundjeri people through the Narrap land management team, had enabled people to be employed and gain new skills while working on traditional Country. The judges described the proj-

ect as innovative with powerful partnerships that were “an outstanding example of leadership in Indigenous natural resource management that is delivering tangible, on-ground outcomes as well as social and economic values”. Ms Wandin said the event was overwhelming. “With anything to do with recognition for Coranderrk, I am thinking of the old people every time,” she said. “I never want their work to be forgotten; they started it and we are here to continue it for them so they know they didn’t do it for nothing.”

Wandoon Estate's Jacqui Wandin and Uncle Dave Wandin from Narrap Land Management accepted the award.

Behavioural assessment rooms being built under the State Government’s $40 million plan to prevent violence and aggression towards hospital workers will make hospitals safer workplaces. Work has started on behavioural assessment rooms in emergency departments at Angliss Hospital in Upper Ferntree Gully and at Maroondah Hospital in East Ringwood. The government campaign against occupational violence aims to remind the community, health workers and paramedics that violence and aggression are not accepted or tolerated as “part of the job.” Minister for Health Jill Hennessy says the government is doing everything it can to support those who care for and save the lives of Victorians. “Violence and aggression towards our health workers will not be tolerated,” she said. Behavioural assessment rooms are separate areas that are purpose built for staff to better assess and manage patients who present to emergency departments exhibiting concerning behaviour. It is estimated that up to 95 per cent of healthcare workers have experienced physical or verbal abuse while caring for others and saving lives.

By Kath Gannaway Stage one of the Yarra Valley Open Studios has been a huge success, whetting the appetite of artists, and lovers of art, across the valley. The official opening of the major group exhibition at The Memo in Healesville on Friday, 8 September, provided a promising entree to a weekend of open studios along the Maroondah Highway. Event organiser, Reggie Clark, said the feedback from participating artists was excellent. “All the artists were really pleased with the visitors, sales were good and there were lots of contacts made for workshops. “Artists are getting what they need out of Open Studios, which is more exposure,” she said. The move to three weekends of

open studios also worked well, with fewer studios to visit and in closer proximity, making for a more relaxed visitor experience. The Melba Highway artists will open their doors on the weekend of 14 and 15 October with a lead-up exhibition at Coombe Yarra Valley in Coldstream from 13 to 31 October. The Warburton Highway weekend is 11 and 12 November, with a feature exhibition at the Waterwheel Gallery in Warburton from 26 October to 14 November. Yarra Valley Open Studios 2017 is a Yarra Valley Arts event supported by Yarra Ranges Council, Warburton/ Yarra Junction Bendigo Community Bank and local businesses. Visit www.yarravalleyarts.org.au for studio locations and profiles on participating artists.

ARE YOU WORRIED ABOUT WHAT IS HAPPENING?

By Kath Gannaway More than 50 people attended the Yarra Valley Law and Order Forum hosted by Eildon MP Cindy McLeish and Evelyn MP Christine Fyffe at Woori Yallock on Thursday, 16 September. Shadow Attorney-General John Pesutto and Shadow Minister for Corrections, Police and Community Safety Edward O’Donohue fielded questions around youth offending, failings of the justice system, plea-bargaining, jails, drugs, mental health, accountability, re-building respect for authority, police resources and local crime. Former Victorian Police Commissioner, Kel Glare, also spoke, defending the Police In Schools Program he introduced in 1989, but which was ditched in 2006. “It is essential to get kids early and educate them as good citizens, he said. He was also critical of VicPol’s approach to dealing with situations which he described as reactive and risk averse. “The troops on the ground are working their backsides off, but are hamstrung at every turn; they are no longer allowed to make decisions on the street, he said. He said VicPol had become so risk averse that officers were scared to act and the hierarchy scared to make a mistake. A retired Yarra Valley police sergeant supported Mr Glare’s call for a return to the Police in Schools Program, saying it built respect for the law. He also urged Mr Pesutto and Mr O’Donohue to look at reform of victim restitution legislation to make court orders enforceable and send messages of accountability and deterrence. The impact of drug manufacturing, dealing, and using, was a recurring theme. “With druggies, when do they go from becoming law-breakers to becoming victims, one audience member asked. He lamented the lack of discipline available to parents and others in charge of children, calling for a return of corporal punishment. Jeff, a member of a volunteer-run urban rehabilitation program, argued for more drug rehabili-

He said the program, which got no government funding, was cost effective, working ‘quite well’ but that funding was too hard to get for such programs. He also spoke of the impact of mental health on crime, saying a huge percentage of people entering drug rehabilitation have severe trauma backgrounds that have gone untreated. Accounts were given, and concerns raised about the lack of police response in the Yarra Ranges, with a strong view that the region is under-resourced. “What do you think (former Victorian Premier) Henry Bolte would do if he were here today? someone asked.

Then answered her own question to enthusiastic applause ... “He would be tough, hardnosed and make decisions ... and he would not be politically-correct. “He would ensure people of Victoria worked and lived in a state that was safe. Among a number of policies put forward under the Coalition’s Law and Order plan are a high-security youth detention facility for violent youth criminals, reinstating Neighbourhood Watch funding and giving victims access to criminals’ superannuation. New offences would include two-years’ jail minimum for ramming a police vehicle, and scrapping cash payments for scrap metal. The forum is part of a Victoria-wide Coalition campaign ahead of the 2018 State Election set for Saturday, 24 November, 2018.

A rare breed By Kath Gannaway Yarra Valley audiences are in for a rare treat when KawabataGo Piano Duo perform at The Memo in Healesville on Sunday, 24 September. Melbourne-born pianist, now living in Finland, Aura Go, and Tamoe Kawabata, who came to Australia from Japan 15 years ago, will be playing some of the most beautiful music written for the special medium of piano for four hands. Originally a domestic form of entertainment, pre-radio and television people would sit around the piano and play duets. “The music we are playing elevates that medium far beyond the domestic,” Ms Go said. Along with pieces by Mozart, Schumann and Schubert, Ms Go said they will be playing ‘Cahier sonore’, a piece by Japanese composer, Miyoshi. “It’s a really beautiful, elegant and sophisticated suite for four-hand that audiences will really love and which is very rarely performed in Australia.” Hearing a four-hand piano recital live is quite rare in itself, and while people may have

Tomoe Kawabata and Aura Go are masters of piano for four hands. Picture: SARAH WALKER heard some of the music on recording, hearing it in a live concert is a really special thing. Ms Go said Kawabata-Go Piano Duo would thrill seasoned lovers of classical music, but was also a perfect introduction to classical with beautiful and instantly appealing music. “Live music is where the magic happens,” she said. She said she and Tamoe are especially looking forward to playing in Healesville. “My experience of playing

to rural audiences is that there is a real hunger for more classical performances,” she said. “The reception is so warm and audiences so enthusiastic and attentive ... it’s a very rewarding experience.” Kawabata-Go Piano Due is on at 2pm at The Memo, Healesville with a free preshow talk at 1pm. People under 26 enjoy free admission under Yarra Ranges Council’s A Minor Tix program. To book, visit www.culturetracks.info or call 1300 368 333.

The Emoji Movie (G) Starring: T.J. Miller, Anna Faris and James Corden In The Emoji Movie, Sony’s latest animated children’s movie, emojis are sentient entities living inside mobile phones, and their jobs involve physically portraying the emotion or concept they represent. Gene (T.J. Miller) is a ‘meh’ emoji unable to hold on to his required expression, and desperately wants to fit in and fulfil his duty as ‘meh’. The Emoji Movie isn’t very funny, with flat, very obvious gags, and is intrinsically cynical in how it essentially

advertises smartphone apps and texting culture to young children, but it seems that many mainstream critics are acting just as cynically toward the film in how they’re condemning it so fiercely. Setting aside the general tastelessness of the premise, The Emoji Movie is a colourful, lively film with touching themes and solid character development. Gene is a charming protagonist, Jailbreak (Anna Faris) is a bold, wilful and kind ally, and these emojis have a gratifying relationship of mutual respect and encouragement. Hi-5 (James Corden) is a hy-

peractive, unnecessary comic relief character, but still has some endearing moments. The film engages subtly with themes of responsibility, conformity and individualism, and Smiley (Maya Rudolph) is a fairly compelling villain, with her ever-smiling persona hiding a despotic cruelty. The Emoji Movie is a satisfying adventure and moving personal journey beyond the consumerist tackiness of its premise. But then, I’m one of those heathens who didn’t really like The Lego Movie, so what do I know? - Seth Hynes

Belgrave scoops the pool By Cameron Hutchison AFL YARRA RANGES Division 2 Seniors Grand final Belgrave 18.15(123) d Yarra Glen 14.11(95) Belgrave are the 2017 Premiers after a massive 88-point turnaround. Yarra Glen got off to a blinding start kicking with the breeze, scoring 8.5 to one goal to have a lead at quarter time by 47 points. Yarra Glen then increased their lead to 60 points early in the second quarter before Belgrave bounced back, holding Yarra Glen to 3.3 while they kicked 5.6 and reduced the lead at half-time to 32 points. Yarra Glen had all the run and looked home and hosed. It was just going to be a case of maintaining possession and playing smart controlled footy. Belgrave, however, came out in the third term and completely dominated play, giving Yarra Glen no opportunities. The Magpies piled on 6.5 to 1.1 to take a slim lead by two points at three-quarter time. By now it was game on and a last quarter befitting a grand final followed. Yarra Glen could not break through the Belgrave onballers as they played behind the ball and were first to the contest in the last. Yarra Glen was playing catch-up footy and could not get the momentum that they had in the first term. Belgrave were impressive and kicked away with 6.4 to 2.3. Yarra Glen never gave up but was outplayed by a better team on the day. Belgrave Goals: T. Marks 3, L. Foreman 3, T. Stubley 2, J. Schill 2, N. Somervaille 2, M. Johnson 1, M. Brown 1, J. McDermott 1, J. Brown 1, P. Van Lambaart 1, P. Gough 1. Best: M. Sproules (AFL VIC Country Best on Ground Medallist), T. Stubley, M. Noy, J. Schill, P. Gough, Y. Curtis. Yarra Glen Goals: J. Ince 3, R. McDermott 2, S. Wintle 2, B. Muurling 2, G. Filsell 1, J. Keen 1, J. Marks 1, B. Ashton 1, A. Smith 1. Yarra Glen Best: C. Moate, C. Tait, J. Marks, G. Filsell, B. Ashton, A. Smith. Division 2 Reserves Grand Final Belgrave 8.10(58) d Yarra Glen 1.6(12) Yarra Glen was playing for back-toback premierships but was outclassed by a more desperate side in Belgrave which have won the 2017 premiership. Belgrave started their game kicking 3.4

to two behinds with the wind in the first quarter. Yarra Glen could not get anything happening and nothing was going their way in the second term as they could only manage three behinds, while Belgrave added to their score with 2.1 and had a lead of 35 points at half-time. Yarra Glen had the opportunity to regroup after half-time and play the type of footy that got them into the grand final, but Belgrave were relentless in the third quarter with their tackling. The Magpies did not allow Yarra Glen to get any clean possessions and held them goalless in the third quarter while scoring 1.2 themselves - the margin at three-quarter time was 37 points. Yarra Glen had no answers in the last but they did manage to kick one goal to 2.3 but it was Belgrave’s day at the final siren. Belgrave Goals: J. McNamara 2, P. Johnson 2, M. Francis 1, N. Thompson 1, J. Levell 1, K. Chandler 1 Best: T. Fleming (AFL Yarra Ranges Best on Ground Medallist), J. Latto, R. Chazbek, J. McNamara, N. Thompson, C. Rak. Yarra Glen Goals: D. Walters 1. Best: J. Donald, J. Derksen, W. Goodwin, R. D’Argent, M. Meyer, D. Tucker. Division 2 A Grade Netball Grand final Belgrave 54 d Yarra Glen 39 Belgrave are premiers and champions for 2017. The first quarter was tight with Belgrave shooting 14 to Yarra Glen’s 12. Belgrave got a run on in the second term shooting 18 goals to nine. Lauren Bennett was in fine form, shooting 13. The third quarter was a goal for goal affair but Belgrave still won the quarter shooting 11 goals to nine and their lead going into the last break was 13. The last term was much the same and as much as Yarra Glen tried they could not reduce the margin or the result. Belgrave Best: Lauren Bennett (AFL Yarra Ranges - Jade Hottes ‘Best on Court’ Medallist), Angela Jeffery, Carmen Timms. Goal Shooters: Lauren Bennett 32, Carmen Timms 19, Jennifer Dewhurst 3. Division 2 Seniors Preliminary Final Olinda Ferny Creek 20.14(134) d Healesville 5.8(38) Olinda Ferny Creek have progressed to the grand final next week in emphatic fashion and will take on Woori Yallock. Olinda kicked with the wind in the first term and put on 4.4 to 2.2 to take a lead of 12 points into the quarter-time break. Healesville could not capitalise in the second quarter and could only manage 2.4 to Olinda’s

7.4 and the margin had blown out to 30 points at half-time. It certainly was not a winning lead if Healesville could regroup and come back out fighting. There were not many goals kicked but most were kicked by Olinda and they increased their lead to 50 points at the last break. Healesville could only manage a single goal in the third quarter. Olinda completely dominated in the last as they held Healesville goalless and added a nice 7.5 to their score. Olinda Ferny Creek Goals: B. Walter 5, N. Broomhall 3, M. Bonuda 3, J. Rankin 2, L. Division 1 Reserves Preliminary Final Wandin 10.5(65) d Healesville 8.8(56) Wandin outplayed Healesville to book a meeting with Olinda Ferny Creek in the grand final next week. Both sides kicked 1.4 in the first quarter so it was basically a restart in the second. It was a high scoring second term with Healesville getting the advantage kicking 5.1 to four goals to take a lead of eight points into half time. Wandin turned it around in the third quarter and made a deficit of eight points a lead of six points going into the last. It was a scrappy, low-scoring last term but Wandin managed to hold Healesville to just one goal and kicked two themselves to win by nine points at the final siren. Wandin Goals: L. McPhee 2, N. Juniors line up for next season

Yarra Junction Junior Football Club

By Effie Caloutas The Yarra Junction Football Club is re-establishing its Junior Football Club for season 2018 after a seven-year absence. Volunteers from the senior committee and parents from the Auskick program have helped get the junior club up and running. President of the Yarra Junction Junior Football Club, Kristy Burrows, said the club previously hadn’t been in a position to put in place a junior club. However, with help from parents of the Auskick program and senior committee, that has changed. “We’re lucky to get the support of the Yarra Junction Aus-

kick program, as well as volunteers from the senior committee to help the junior club run next season,” she said. The junior club folded in 2010. Now, the club is aiming to get both girls and boys involved next year after this year incorporating the first women’s side in the Upper Yarra region. Ms Burrows believes it’s important to have junior clubs for the future. “It’s important for the survival of the Yarra Junction Football Club and to give the club the best possible future,” she said. “It’s important to have a junior club because it provides family support, spirit, and a

sense of community among juniors and seniors.” To enhance interest among juniors, the club is holding a Family Day on Sunday 24 September. Ms Burrows believes it’s important for children to get involved in the junior club due to the positive elements it can provide. “Sport for young children has many rewards, particularly on a social level,” she said. “Young children form really good lifelong friendships through junior sport. It gives them a sense of community among juniors and seniors; they learn the importance of teamwork, respect, supporting each other and, most of all, having fun.”

winner. This was Ben Doggett, who came in with a stunning Nett 65 (this meant he shot par for the course, as he plays off a real golfer’s handicap - 4!). Great shooting, Benny! The runner-up, with another ‘ripper’ score was Vahagi Sargsyan, who recorded a Nett 68. Balls only got down to 73, another reflection of many ‘decent’ scores posted. The NTPs

went to Sean Kennedy 5th, Happy Gilmore 9th, the everconsistent Kenny Barratt 12th and Sean claimed another one on the tough 15th. Next week is the Hatty-sponsored Farrier-Cup, in memory of Mick Cleary. Get your name down for that one and hopefully spring weather will accompany the field.
