A NOTE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL Dear St. Anthony of Padua Families, Good afternoon and Happy Friday!

As we continue to work through the glitches of the new year, I want to take a moment to address uniforms. When we think of Catholic schools, we often think of uniforms – a hallmark of Catholic schools. Uniforms allow our students to proudly represent St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School.

Uniforms prevent peer pressure. Studies even show that uniforms increase academic performance.

Having a uniform rather than a dress code is done intentionally. I want to thank you for making the effort to abide by our uniform policy. That being said, there have been some unique situations where fit and availability have been an issue. Additionally, the transition schedule has created some confusion. For these reasons, we will extend grace this year for those families experiencing challenges with the transition. However, in 2019-2020, ALL STUDENTS PK – 7th will be expected to wear Risse Uniforms. We will continue to work with Risse this year to make sure our uniform offerings work for all students. I appreciate your understanding and patience with our school as we continue to work through the growing pains of moving to a new uniform company. Have a great weekend!

JR. MASTER GARDENING PROGRAM Who: Students in 1st—5th Grade When: 3:45—5:15 p.m., First Thursday of the Month The theme this year will be “Secrets of a Garden”.

There is something very special about growing plants whether it is vegetables, flowers, herbs or fruit! We will explore the many wonders of one small garden; plants growing, bugs nibbling, birds chirping, and small animals.

If your child is interested in joining our Jr. Master Gardening Program please fill out the permission form on our website and send in by Friday, September 21st. Any questions regarding Junior Master Gardener should be directed to Mrs. Dueitt.
