MESSAGE FROM ADMINISTRATION Dear STAOPCS Families, We have been thinking of and praying for all of you during the past several days as Harvey has affected our area along with all of southeast Texas and now southwest Louisiana. We hope that you are all safe and have been spared heavy damage and loss. We are anxious to know how all of our families are doing. Please let us know if your family has sustained any damage or needs any assistance at rnunez@staopcs.org.

We want to let you know that the parish/school campus is in good condition.

There have been some roof leaks and other minor issues. Our Buildings and Grounds Department are working o clean up and take care of any issues so that things are ready for our planned re-opening on Tuesday, September 5th.

Thank you to the many in our school community, faculty, staff and families, who have joined in the volunteer relief efforts at St. Anthony of Padua and throughout the area. It has been amazing to see the generosity and outpouring of love from our parish community. This is only the beginning in the recovery process for so many that have been affected. We will continue to support parish relief efforts and find ways that as a school we can support as well—we have included in this newsletter, the most recent needs from the Parish.

FALL PICTURES Fall Pictures have been cancelled for September 6th and will be rescheduled for a date to be determined.

LUNCHROOM PARENT GUESTS Visiting your child for lunch is delayed until September 11th. As we return to a regular routine we need to reorient our students with school expectations and procedures. We look forward to greeting you and showing you to your “guest table” on September 11th! Thank you for your patience!

ROOM PARENTS & VOLUNTEERS Room Parents will be announced by Tuesday, September 5th.  Room Parents should plan on attending a room parent orientation meeting at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 6th in AMR.  All other volunteers (champions, library volunteers, etc.) are invited to join us at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 6th in the AMR for an orientation.

$5 FREE DRESS DAY Friday, Sept. 8th is a $5 Free Dress Day to benefit Hurricane Harvey Relief for Catholic Schools in our area. Please refer to the Family Handbook for Free Dress guidelines.

PRE-K PARENTS Pre-K Parents are encouraged to walk their students to their classrooms so that we may re-establish a sense of comfort within the school. We aim to have all children at ease and walking alone by September 18th.

CANCELLED DAYS TCCBED has granted a variance for the instructional days missed from August 25—September 1. These days will not have to be made up in the 2017-2018 school year.
