Halloween Science Day fun! This year’s theme was “Laws of Faith through Laws of Physics” and students engaged in S-T-R-E-A-M activities. S-T-R-E-A-M describes an integrated learning model that includes Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics.

MESSAGE FROM ADMINISTRATION Dear School Families, Congratulations to our varsity volleyball team on winning the 3A League Championship last Saturday! We had a great time Monday celebrating Halloween Science Day. Thank you to staff Science Committee for organizing some great classroom activities. Report cards were distributed last Friday for the first time through ParentsWeb©. Honor Roll and Citizenship Award certificates for the first quarter went home as well.

Our Discipleship message for the week is about our character trait for the month of November which is CARING. Caring is being concerned about something or someone. It is showing understanding of others by treating them with kindness, compassion, generosity, and a forgiving spirit. Our culture of discipleship is all about caring and sharing the love of Jesus with everyone. As a school community we are all one body in Christ, we are all one family. When someone is hurting we need to show that person care and love. When someone is in need, we should all try to help. When someone is going down the wrong road, perhaps making choices that lead them away from God, we all need to show that person the way back to God. That is true caring and true sharing of the love of Christ with each other.

November is off to a great start! We are always busy and there is always excitement on campus. Our Thanksgiving Food Drive is underway. It is awesome to know that we can help so many families through this parishwide project. We're all looking forward to our Annual Saints’ Trivia Bee and Fall Book Fair before the break. Our Thanksgiving holiday will be here before you know it, and we're already looking forward to spending time with family and friends. We wish everyone a great and blessed week.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS My child lost their lunch bag/sweater/folder/etc.

Where is the Lost & Found?

Could the school organize a room with a babysitter where younger siblings could be dropped off and cared for so that parents could volunteer?

There are Lost & Found tables on each floor of our school. Please make sure your child checks the tables for their items. All items in Lost & Found on November 18th will be donated to charity so be sure to check it soon!

How do I check out additional children after my child’s special presentation or event during the school day?

When you are planning on checking out additional children after a special event, like “Saints Gallery” please follow the Leaving School Early procedures in the Family Handbook to secure Early Release Stickers for your children. Making the last-minute decision to check out additional children is discouraged and should be kept to a minimum to alleviate classroom disruption.

We recognize the value that being able to offer a service such as this would be. We want parent involvement and participation in day-to-day and special activities, events and programs. At this time, we do not have room available to set up a co-op or babysitting service in the building as all of the rooms are occupied during the school day. However, there is great news for the not too distant future. The next phase of construction will include the 2-story multipurpose building. As part of that building will be a full-time nursery that will be open for use by all ministries including the school during the day. Parents with young children will be able to drop siblings in the nursery while volunteering in the school or attending parish functions. The nursery along with the new cafeteria will be great additions and resources for our school.

Can we hook you into helping for a short time? If you can contribute as little as one hour it would be very much appreciated! Classes visit the book fair throughout the week. STEWARDSHIP PROJECT Our 2nd Quarter Stewardship Project is the Thanksgiving Food Drive in conjunction with St. Anthony’s Bread Food Pantry. Teachers will be sending home detailed food lists and how students and families can assist with the drive. We will be collecting from October 31st through November 9th.
